This is a story that will pull you in and make you realize that humanity in all it's frailties' has it's ability, when challenged, to show that it is not color blind. That the human race; still response to his own, with kindness and grace. And that what this small town does is reinforce a belief, that there is more good then evil in this world.

I read this book on the recommendation of my mom last year. Loved it and made be believe in the overall goodness of humanity again (especially in Canada).
