Casual Vacancy (which I won’t finish until March) counts as a reverse too! I will add 2-3 more just so we have some choices

And WE. ARE. DONE! Finished the last book we needed for February. Diane, I put it at the bottom of everything you had moved around because I didn't want to mess anything up. :)
Puddings, just got this message from Pixie:"This sounds like an interesting recipe so far!
But would you maybe like to add another spacey or intergalactic ingredient or two? (Just for the fun of it... ;-))"
I am super busy at the moment but may take another look at this later today :) I guess we should go bananas with the recipe and just have near to impossible-to-get ingredients in there, something like "flour from a species of oats that has been around for 4 thousand years"; "milk from cows who listen to classical music at least 2 hours a day"; "beat the eggs for exactly 37.61 seconds". I don't know, am I being too crazy? Is this what Pixie wants from us? What do you think?
I've been reading two books really slowly, waiting for March. 😆I expect to finish at least one of them today!
Just finished my first march book... are we creating a new tracker? I added it to the feb tracker cuz i didnt see one for march...
Hi puddings,I am very sorry that I haven't said anything since the beginning of March - my dog went through (a successful!!) surgery on Monday and I have been distracted.
Things are starting to calm down now and here's a general overview of the challenge:
- Today is the 4th and we already read 17 books out of a total of 93 books for this month. *yey*
- If you saw the spreadsheet with current points at the end of February you may have realized how unlucky we were with the cards (we had 9 Draw 2s and only 3 Wild, not to mention 0 WD4). This month we have apparently better hands and bottom line is that we have fun while reading :)
- Today I will go through your shelves to make sure that everything is in order with last month's books since I didn't have the chance to do it before. I usually check them throughout the month, but I always like to take a final look :)
About your shelves:- Jen, if you could add a Started Reading date for Unravel Me and Bunny it would be nice.
- Vicki, I don't know if there is a mistake with your Start Reading date for Beneath this Mask, but on GR it says that you started it on the 31st of December! We used it both on the main and mini challenges for February. Luckily I was able to swap it using two books: one that was not used on the main and another which was not used on the mini. So at the end it did not affect our points.
I'll keep a closer look at everybody's shelves this month.
Btw, it's day 6 and we read 26 books already! Only 67 to go :)
Awesome start guys!I am going away this weekend, and im on anual leave next week as its Cheltenham Festival (horse racing) all week. Ill try get some reading in but I wont be on here much.
I'll add everything once im back in the land of the living week of the 16th.

That happens to me ALL the time! I don't know why but sometimes when I'm adding shelves such as page numbers or genres etc. it'll go to currently reading when I haven't read it. When I look at it I can see I had added 3 shelves on the 31st, so that's what happened. It's so frustrating!

I had a feeling it was Goodreads fault! I love GR, but honestly, sometimes it is just so frustrating!
I'll make sure that this month I'll check things more regularly, so even if GR tries to mess with us, we'll be prepared :)
I'm just checking in to say Hi. Haven't added to the chat side of the game for a bit. :) Hope all your reads this month have been great ones!!
Cyndee wrote: "I'm just checking in to say Hi. Haven't added to the chat side of the game for a bit. :) Hope all your reads this month have been great ones!!"Actually, I read a very, very nice book, which is on your TBR shelf Cyndee. It's
. I highly recommend it :)I also read the second book by Max Porter, but it does not compare to his first,
which I really loved. It's not part of any pudding's TBR pile, but it should :)I am almost half way through
but so far it's just ok and there are no deep thoughts on being a woman... In my opinion it is a very superficial book, but I'll wait to read the rest. And I began reading
.I think I'll start a third and save them all for the mini challenge. I've never been busier, so I think that for me is the right thing to do.
Jen wrote: "I had just read if I stay in January. I loved the movie"And there is a second book that I am now anxious to read!
Hey puddings, I just wanted to check on everybody: how are you doing? I hope none of you has had trouble with the new coronavirus, and that you are all safe.
Hey Diana, I’m personally being cautious and following guidelines. I’m 70 plus I’m diabetic so I’ve been staying at home. We have 3 cases in our county but none so far in our town of about 75,000. Our mayor has canceled or postponed all events including senior citizens BINGO which I don’t do anyway. Churches are going to online services. Schools are open but elementary schools are doing lunch by classroom. They get lunch and go back to eat in their room. They’re supposedly super cleaning (deep cleaning) every day after school. The next city over has one case plus 2 students at one high school that were exposed to COVID-19. But they are not closing the schools, not even the school where the students were exposed so that kind of surprises me.
I know we’re all concerned about ourselves, loved ones, online (Goodreads) friends, etc. I’m not panicked because we’ve been through this before. I know this is different but as long as people take precautions and are careful things will be okay. Lives will be lost and that’s really sad. Eventually things will go back to “normal.” Praying that is SOON!!!
I’m also curious to know how my GR friends are!
Hey all! Vienna has ~50 cases of the virus and 1 death, and as of Monday all schools will be closed for a full month (resuming after Easter break). So far stores are still open and life will continue as usual, except schooling will be done virtually, at home. (I work at home already so this is okay for our family — a little frustrating to have everyone home "at my office" but I know it's harder on those who have to figure out childcare!) Oh they're also canceling all public events and gatherings of 100+ people are banned.
Austria, on the whole, is being very cautious and is trying to get in front of it before it becomes too devastating, so even though some people think the gov't is overreacting, I'm grateful. I'd rather they erred on the side of caution!
As for books… I'm reading my first Franz Kafka book The Trial for our challenge, and am reading Rising Strong for a discussion group at work. :)
I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe!
Hi Puddings!! I hope that everyone is healthy and safe and able to find some time to breathe deep and relax!
My son was home this week for Spring Break from an out-of-state University and has been instructed not to return until further notice so we're awaiting word that we may need to travel back to pack everything from his dorm. My daughters (High School senior and 4th grader) have just started a sudden minimum 3 week break from school. I am fortunate to have 2 older children to use for childcare for my youngest, and they are offering help for others in our community who aren't quite so fortunate. Our state has instituted the same provisions that Tawni mentioned for Vienna regarding events of more than 100 people.
Hang in there Puddings!

It's so nice to read that you are all well and taking all the precautions in this difficult period. I am now working from home as the perspective of using public transportation in London to go to work is too frightening for me. Even though things are running as usual in London (which is absolutely crazy!), and my place of work is still open, I have to think about the rest of my family and cannot afford the risk.Good thing is that UNO is here to save us from boredom in our quarantines and the Mini challenge for March has been posted here!
This is the official countdown! just a bit more than 21 hours to go!
I added new columns in the tracking spreadsheet as well as the tab for the mini challenge.
The mini challenge has 2 parts: 25 tasks that we have to fulfill plus 15 books whose titles we will have to use to create a story! So there is a total of 40 books we need to read.
Considering that at the moment we have 54 books left on the main challenge, we shall use all from the main on the mini and we will have spare ones that will give us some room to create our story!
Oh this is going to be FUN!!!
I have 2 books that I'll need to add because they're going to be finished before the mini starts, but then...IT'S ON! :)

Y’all I’ve been slacking with the reading this month but I’m about to catch up. Corona keeping me contained and concentrated!
Hey everyone.I’m back in the land of the living. Just about.
Will get upto date with my coloured covers for green this week
Hope you’ve all had a great weekend
Are the only tasks the mini-tasks? I keep checking but haven’t seen any new ones in awhile? I feel like I am missing it for some reason. Am I behind on anything?
Ive just seen green 6 has been taken, shall I hold off on fangirl until next month?will be finished with green 5 by mid week.
Gem ~Zero Shelf Control~ wrote: "Ive just seen green 6 has been taken, shall I hold off on fangirl until next month?will be finished with green 5 by mid week."
No! :) We’ll use it for one of our Wild Draw 4s which replicate a colored card if you can finish it :)
Vicki wrote: "Are the only tasks the mini-tasks? I keep checking but haven’t seen any new ones in awhile? I feel like I am missing it for some reason. Am I behind on anything?"We just have the tasks on the mini and the colored and WD4s to be careful with.
The mini challenge is not so bad because we have to read 15 books that don’t have to fit any task, so I think that there is some room there. Nonetheless, some tasks are hard and I will put a list together and ask for your contributions.
Colored cards have been assigned, except for one 5 Blue, and we are missing 3 Wild Draw 4s! I think Gem will take care of one by duplicating a Green 6, but we still need two more. Anyone reading a 5 Blue, 6/8/9 Yellow or 5 Green?
I don’t want to agree to more until I’ve got fangirl under my belt. But I will see if I can shift things round with another challenge and get another yellow done as I have loads of physical copies to hand... I’ll let you know tomorrow
I will look through my collection! I went through last night for the mini challenge, but I will see what I have. Sadly, our libraries are shut down atm.
Okay - I'm still looking, but my "A Room With A View" should count for yellow, I think, if you weren't including that.
Okay, I can do:6 yellow (Always the Bridesmaid by Sarah Webb)
5 Blue - The Blessings by Elise Juska
If anyone else wants to do them, be my guest, but I have the books in hand atm.
Gem ~Zero Shelf Control~ wrote: "You are a great captain Diana, I always know what I need to do to help where I can"That’s so sweet! Thank you 🥰
Noel wrote: "Okay - I'm still looking, but my "A Room With A View" should count for yellow, I think, if you weren't including that."I had a question about that! You read a paperback book right? Is it really yellow in person? Because in my screen it looks green and I wanted to check that with you :)
Uhhh I can see an argument for green. It's like a weird yellow green in person too but I think it leans yellow?
