Hi Nancy. Have you tried the Nero Wolfe mysteries by Rex Stout? To me, they are cozy mysteries and I think you would get a kick out of Archie's comments. I am listening to the books from Books on Tape that have been digitized on Overdrive. The narrator is Michael Pritchard. Just an awesome voice. Unfortunately, not all on audio - only 27 that I can find.

I want to see if I can get it on DVD just so I can watch it over again because it was so good.
If you liked these, have your read the Lord Peter Wimsey series by Dorothy Sayers? It is older, like the Nero Wolfe ones, but is also quite good. I got hooked on both series at the same time and just kept reading until I had found all the books I could by those two authors! Nothing like book/series addiction!!!
You must mean the series with Timothy Hutton as Archie? (I did not care for the guy who played Nero). I have seen some of them on You Tube. I remember the older TV series with Robert Conrad. I have seen Dorothy Sayers' name and her series but not looked any books. I am almost too over-whelmed with I currently have going and fixed on Nero Wolfe and The Iron Druid right now. My work life is hell at the moment and when I get home, I just want to escape. I had to eat cereal for dinner last night because I did not want to stop at the grocery store on the way home.

I think I finished that book in 3 days :) his books flow so well and I love how short the chapters are. Makes it so easy to keep reading :)

Sometimes I have read one of his in a day, if I have the time to do that. I also like how quickly the plots move. You are right about that - you just can't stop turning the pages!
