I'm trying to remember if I've ever actually managed to read them all before...
It helps that we have so much extra time, lol.

Britt, Book Habitue (britt--bookhabitue) | 767 comments The Devil Aspect was a lot like Silent Patient except possibly better done... more interesting/enjoyable to read... plus it has the bonus of being historical with WWII elements as a backdrop.

That's what I thought. The Devil Aspect was very well written.

Britt, Book Habitue (britt--bookhabitue) | 767 comments Fogland Point was.... I don't even know, honestly. It was fine? There's interesting characters and a mystery and some romance and some more mysteries... but, I don't know, it kind of...meandered? Amongst all of those things? Unsure of quite what it was and more convoluted than was strictly necessary?
Like this review of it, lol.

One left! And I already have it checked out, so that helps. :)

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 674 comments Wow! You'll have to rank them in order of enjoyment for us.

I second Aubrey! Would you be game to rank them for us? I'm super curious.

Britt, Book Habitue (britt--bookhabitue) | 767 comments Um, sure. That could be interesting, lol.

Britt, Book Habitue (britt--bookhabitue) | 767 comments The Frangipani Tree Mystery finished! That's all of them!

Congrats!

Britt, Book Habitue (britt--bookhabitue) | 767 comments Okay, here we go. All the Reader's Choice, ranked according to my opinion. (For what it's worth lol)

Starting at the bottom, with my 2.5 star books
Leave No Trace
Night Tiger
Ghosted

Meh 3 star books--
The Proposal
As Long As We Both Shall Live

Solid 3 star books--
Fogland Point
Silent Patient
An Elderly Lady up to no Good

Begrudging 4 star book--
The Military Wife

Solid 4 star books--
Seances are for Suckers
The Ravenmaster
Devil Aspect
A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe

4.5-I-might-bump-it-to-5 star books--
Here and Now and Then
Torn

And, drumroll please, the top books of this round--
The Things We Cannot Say
The Frangipani Tree Mystery
A Mind Unraveled

Most disappointing book- An Elderly Lady up to No Good. Because I was expecting to like it SO MUCH and I just...didn't...as much as I wanted to.

Most surprising-- Military Wife (which is why it got a begrudging 4 stars). Not my thing. Like AT ALL. And yet I had to concede it deserved better than a 3 star review. I would never ever have read it outside of Reader's Choice and I've no intention of reading any others in the "series" but I confess it was a decent read.

Most messed up book-- Feels like a tie between As Long As We Both Shall Live (because holy trainwreck) and Leave No Trace (because, yeah, that was messed up).

Slowest/Dragged-- Night Tiger and Ghosted tie. I so struggled with those.

Overall, I felt like I had fewer 5 star books until I went back through the list (probably because the reading was spread out over a longer time period than normal for Reader's Choice) but on the other hand I didn't have any solid 2 star or 1 star books, which is impressive.

Audrey (niceyackerman) | 674 comments Very interesting! Cool.

I think Devil Aspect and Torn were my favorites of what I read. I also really liked An Elderly Lady is Up to No Good.

That's amazing! Also, I'm glad you read something you never would have picked up and thought it was a good read. I'm horrible at that. If I'm reading something I have to be in the mood for it, otherwise it's too much slow going.
