Beneath the Surface
History
Emeth had been the Beta for a long time before the war, almost a full ten years before. He had taken the title at the age of twenty after proving his loyalty to the Alpha male and female. Since his father and mother had stepped down from their Beta positions, they had grown to old, he was the rather obvious choice, or at least he thought he had been. The year he turned thirty he had been out looking for the Alpha's twelve year old daughter Adara, who had gone hunting, when the Eclipse pack was attacked. Many times a day he thinks it may have turned out different if he had been at the camp that day to protect his Alphas.
When he returned after giving up on finding the little rascal Adar he had headed back to camp only to find it completely ransacked. Not carrying for his safety he ran through the whole area to see if there was any survivors. Finding none and no sign of Adara either he left, hoping the child was okay. It was weeks later that he found out about what the other packs had done to his pack mates, devastated at what had become of them. What hit him the hardest however was the death of his mate, though they had not been true mates, or even close to it he had still loved her.
It was weeks later of running around in the forests that he finally found Adara, over joyed that his Alpha's heir had remained alive and free. Then and there he swore his everlasting loyalty to child, vowing that he would never leave her without protection. Remaining a loner however grew tough on the broken hearted wolf and with only Adara for companionship it was a hard life. However to keep his mind off it he taught Adara all he knew, vowing to himself to keep the young wolf alive. He'd prove to her mother and father's spirits that their lives would not have ended in vain.
Personality
Extremely caring Emeth is one you can always count on to be there when you need him. Thought he is a bit on the older side you can always count on him to have the heart and personality of a puppy. He tries to keep people optimistic, but reality is a hard thing to ignore. If the war had never happened Emeth would have probably turned out very different, but now his puppy like personality is buried deep.
He does show his playful side every once in a while but usually never around the hard headed Adara. With how focused she is as she had gotten older he threw off the Emeth of old, becoming the rough and tumble wolf his Alpha to be needed. You can still see Emeth's caring side, always trying to look after Adara like a younger sister, though he won't admit it out loud. He does mostly what Adara tells him to do and nothing more, thought he will go against orders if he feels like it will put Adara in danger.
