#135 has been in so many acclaimed pics I almost don't know where to find a clue which wouldnt give him away.
He's Irish; often plays cops, motorcycle cops, bartenders, guards.
Appearances in 1930s screwball comedies; one Marx Bros film. Two big Cooper hits. One Hitchcock flick. A big Judy Garland movie. A huge John Ford movie. A huge George Stevens movie.
no score on Verdon or Lansbury

Nope. #135 is another workhorse like we saw earlier in this quizzo. Upwards of 200 film credits. His last listed role was in '55.
Yes, a winnah! #135 is Pat Flaherty! Jill your streak continues
Lookit all the juicy credits that guy has to his name. Like, every acclaimed film over a 15 yr span.

Flaherty was in 'Grapes of Wrath', 'A Day at the Races', 'The Thin Man', 'A Star is Born', 'Treasure of Sierra Madre', 'Best Years of Our Lives', 'Saboteur', 'Meet John Doe', 'Sgt York', 'My Man Godfrey' and everything else under the sun

I can't figure out #137....have gone through the Tony winners and she doesn't seem to fit any of them but I am obviously missing something. She doesn't look familiar at all.
Learned a lot during this quizzo so far and its also a good way to keep these classic titles fresh on one's mind.
Re: #137 let's hear from Betsy once more and then maybe start a fresh round.

But you could put up some pictures of new quizzo people.

You didn't order overnight shipping for so vital a need? That's what I woulda done
Anyway alright. But in the meantime I reckon I will add two more new faces.

#138 came with the dreaded message "no image"
A Winnah! #139. Score for Jill.
Yep. Dwight Frye, a name well-known to horror aficionados.
The madman 'Renfield' ...in one of the very very early 'Dracula' flicks.
And also the 'gunsel' 'Wilmer' in the pre-Huston 'Maltese Falcon'
...among many others! Intense performer!

"I say, Jenkins. You awake?"
"What ya want. Go to sleep."
"Mighty quiet out there."
"Captain knows what he's doing. Now belt up."

Indeed. But afterwards you will all have gained some new knowledge to reward your efforts!
I'm holding out on you because I think it will be worth it...

I think I will give Betsy one more full evening (using her new device) to come up with something. Agreed?

I don't think you will recriminate yourselves over missing #137 but I think you might laugh aloud, or groan, or shriek (in Liza Doolittle - fashion). But it's no shame to occasionally miss one. Also, I did play this card rather close-to-the-vest.
Ready? Alright, its time for the big reveal. Jill, at several points you actually came mighty close to solving it. I was certainly nervous.
This famous star really is a "household name" and really does have two Tony Awards but also (something I deigned not to mention) ...also has an Oscar. An Oscar from the year 1956.
One of the Tony Awards they possess is an honorary Tony for a long-running play on Broadway. They spearheaded a rousing musical in which they appeared almost 5,000 performances.
Is light starting to dawn?
The wacky-looking "chanteuse" in the photo above is taken from a 1969 English 'black comedy' starring Peter Sellers, Ringo Starr, and some Monty Pythons. It's "The Magic Christian" and was a bomb that year. But the movie has all sorts of interesting 'star cameos'. Friends and acquaintances of Ringo Star and Peter Sellers.
Mystery actress #137 is not an actress at all, not even a woman at all. He's an actor.
You'll wail at me ...but it's YUL
That's right.
Yul ....B-R-Y-N-N-E-R, born 1920, star of Rogers' & Hammerstein's 'The King and I'.
Can you stand it? Isn't it a scream? Yul Brynner in DRAG!! lulz
bwaha aha aha aha aha. Look it up on IMdb yourself! Famous macho man Yul Brynner, cross-dressing on screen! lol lol lol lol

Yep I had to toss some red-herrings at Jill to get her to stop thinking about the singer's manliness. I didn't want her to get you on that track.
And no, I never called her by feminine pronouns like 'she' or 'her'. I was careful about that! Fair play was observed.
Yul was born on the other side of the globe. Therefore I didn't make his birthplace explicit, nor did I even say 'European'. I simply mentioned he has been in both US / UK movies, which he has.
Like I said, the payoff here is in wisdom. Now we all know a little more about Tony Award winners.

Just two out of 140 total. Not bad at all. The other was ...Zachary Scott, I believe.
Anyway nope didn't make it up; no idea why Yul accepted that strange cameo but I guess he had unexpectedly quirky depths to his sense of humor.

Now, on to #138 (who looks familiar) and #140 who does look a bit like Gilbert Roland that Betsy guessed. but was incorrect.
