I'm reading the Twilight Series right now and the Twilight Series is by Stephenie Meyer which has the initials SM.
Yeah, I'm planning to read it next year and it looks like it's going to help me out a lot in this challenge!
Does anyone have any ideas for a book with character named Olivia, Ivy, Justin or Daniel? I think Daniel's probably our best bet and one will probably turn up in a book I'm going to read but does anyone know any books that would work? :)
Nothing's wrong with it but I personally didn't like it. I found Bella to be moany and childish and the whole style of writing annoyed me. Also I found Edward to be a creep. I have to admit I didn't even finish book 1 (and I read that years ago) so I can't really judge it. :)
Ooooh, thanks Prajna. I think I'm going to read one of the poison apple books for read a book featured on the 'Readers Also Enjoyed' page on Goodreads for any of the MSTV or MBTW books. So I'll see what other ones it will count for. :)Vampire diaries, I'm not sure about. I always get it confused with Vampire Academy which I'm hoping to read next year.
Not a silly question! That one is confusing. On the back of most of the MSTV books there is a 'tagline'. All you have to do is choose one of them and then find a book that fits that tagline. In case other editions don't have the taglines or you don't have a physical copy of the books here they are. The first 4 MSTVs and all the MBTWs don't have one.
(5) Take Two - He's even cuter in real life!
(6) Love Bites - Suddenly, they were vampire royalty!
(7) Lucky Break - She'd just found their biological mom's journal!
(8) Star Style - This could be their big chance!
(9) Twin Spins - She couldn't lie to her twin sister!
(10) Date with Destiny - Decisions, decisions!
(11) Flying Solo - We're still double trouble
(12) Stake Out - We're on a mission!
(13) Double Disaster - Popularity bites!
(14) Flipping Out - I love a high school romance!
(15) Secrets and Spies - This town's in mystery overdrive!
(16) Fashion Frightmare - It's time for some model behaviour!

Yeah, basically the taglines are a quote from the book that I guess is supposed to entice you if you see it in a shop or something. :) Thanks for putting the taglines up Soph, it'll be useful for reference.
@ message 15. Thanks, Kaushikee! That book looks awesome. I've always wanted to read Ella Enchanted (by the same author) so maybe I can get around to that if/when I read Fairest.
So I'm guessing the one MSTV and one MBTW we have to read do not count toward any of the goals? Otherwise, the "read a book with twins in it" can be easily knocked off everyone's list. Or is it a freebie?
Yes, you're right. The first two are exclusive but for the rest if you read a book that can count for multiple challenges then feel free to go ahead and do so.
That is a hard one. I tried to find a list (on their website and such like) but no luck. The best I could come up with was books users on Goodreads have shelved as Egmont or Egmont USA. It's a start I guess.Egmont - https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...
Egmont USA - https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...
Oh, dear. Thanks, Daisy. This is better than what I had, which was a whole lotta nothing. I'll be sure to do research and be sure of my chosen book's status before reading it.
You mean Sophie? ;) Of the books I own, a few Michael Morpurgo books are published by Egmont and not a whole lot else. I think browsing your local library for Egmont books is probably your best bet.
Ooh, the library thing is a cool idea, Sophie. That would also be a good way to read a book you'd never ordinarily pick up. Too bad I've already done the Egmont one!
Sorry, Sophie! I'm so used to thanking Daisy for helping my poor self out. Thanks, Sophie!Good suggestion about the library thing, too. I'll figure it out eventually. For now, I'll focus on the books I have picked out now.
No problem! I'm finding it really interesting to look at who published what because I ordinarily wouldn't.
I just finished reading The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson and I only realised once I'd finished it but this would be the perfect book for 'read a book with illustrations at the beginning of each chapter'. This book is a fantasy and the magic system revolves around chalk drawing. At the beginning of each chapter there is a page with illustrations explaining a part of the magic system. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it. As it is a fantasy there is more of a threat than you'd find in say, the My Sister the Vampire books. However this is a young adult book so I think most, if not all, of the My Sibling the Mythical Being members would be fine with it.
It's almost December so I've been trying to wrap up my plans and I think I might be able to 100% complete this challenge. I have 3 more to go (read a book with werewolves in, read a book with a troublesome reporter in and read a book featured on the 'readers also enjoyed' page on Goodreads for any of the MBTW or MSTV books). I also just realised that Spooktacular (MSTV #17) came out after I listed all the taglines. You'd think it would be good to have another tagline to choose from but unfortuently I don't think you'd be able to use the tagline for anything as it's "Franklin Grove is haunted!" Unless you can find another book/series with a town called Franklin Grove in it that's being haunted. Good luck with that!
