"Salima and Fahima were raised to become Ouled Nail dancers (think of them as the geishas of North Africa). In 1931, the sisters arrive in Bousaada, a colonial desert town in Algeria, full of dreams of success. But when they accidentally kill a French solider, their path to success is at stake and so is their very livelihood. As they try to cover up the crime, they get involved in deeper trouble, ending up in a race with the French Colonel who would stop at nothing to get to the truth."
My novel is about Aileen who gets taken captive by vikings raiding her home country of Ireland. Her captor Harald is just a boy no older than herself. Harald has a best friend named Erik. Erik's father Hakon tries to rape Aileen. Harald kills Hakon with a bit of assistance from Aileen, and manages to keep it secret from Erik into their adulthood, when Erik catches wind of Harald's killing of his father, and it sets in motion an old-fashioned blood feud between the two families which threaten to eradicate both. And Aileen finds herself dead square in the middle of it.
