What was your top Fantasy BotM in 2019?

As the title says, which fantasy book that we read as group was your favourite in 2019?

For me it would have to be Circe by Madeline Miller. I actually read this one slightly before we read it as a group and it was definitely one of my top books of 2019.

Looking back it would definitely be Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson. I read this when it first came out, as I do with all of Sanderson's novels, but did a re-read for BOTM.

Vinca Russell (vinxlady) | 1561 comments I've not done well at keeping up with the books of the month this year, but I did really enjoy Circe. I listened to the audiobook, which I found a bit slow to start off with, but loved it after I'd made it through a few chapters.

Melanie | 1690 comments Circe for sure was my favorite.

Melanie | 1690 comments City of Lies was my second favorite.

Sandy | 1665 comments I really liked the Grey Bastards - although since I had read it before BOM, I did not do a reread.

Out of the handful BotM I got to in 2019, City of Lies was my favorite fantasy. I started Circe but didn't finish it. I want to restart and try again. I have a lot of books to go back and catch up!

Amy | 410 comments Senlin Ascends was a surprise like for me. And I enjoyed The City of Brass too. Hopefully will get round to reading the sequels sometime, but always find starting a new series more tempting.

Dawn | 1248 comments My favourite fantasy book has to be The Grey Bastards. Loved the characterisation and the world building.

I think Oathbringer, though I just finished it a week ago.

I am currently reading The Grey Bastards but I think it will be my favorite fantasy that the rest of the group read in 2019.

Mark (iamjacksprofile) | 65 comments I'm too lazy to look up the whole list, but Oathbringer is possibly my favorite book all-time, so easy choice!

I loved Circe, surprisingly. Doesn't seem my thing, but it's so mesmerizing with great human insight.
