Melinda Brasher | 40 comments I honestly couldn't get past about page 16, but I hear it has a really interesting premise.

Ashleigh (ashleighbailey) | 8 comments I love it and the rest of the series. They are on my 'need to own' list. There were moments when I was dumb founded because I really has no clue, the ending was really good for me.

Alec (alec_deo) I love this Author, he wrote on of my favorite series The Journal of Curious Letters but that's just one of those books. So I knew starting this book that I would like it. Not only that but I received several recommendations to read this book, and i got to say this book did not let me down. Ow my gosh, at the end that cliff hanger! I knew i had to buy the second book immediately that very day and man. These books Are crazy! loved them, and recommend them to any of my friends.

Stu Schreiber | 1 comments Maze Runner proves, yet again, that a Best Seller doesn't have to be a particularly good book. Dashner fails to deliver compelling characters and the story is somewhat interesting, at best. Wanted so much more from Thomas and Teresa. Appears Dashner scored big time with a very pedestrian book.

Shannan Volters (shannan_withana) I'm about halfway through right now. Not as quick a read as most books I'm into, but It definitely has me hooked to see what's going to happen.

Reesa Mckenzie | 4 comments The book really started out slow, but I hung in there because of the recommendations that I got, and boy it was good. I enjoyed that read.

Maina | 26 comments I have just as many reasons to like this book as I do to dislike it. I liked the overall idea, but thought it was poorly executed. I felt like so much more could have been done with just about everything- character development, dialogue, descriptions of the grievers, the relationship between Thomas and Theresa. The made up slang words drove me crazy, and i was more frustrated than Thomas with the lack of answers to his questions. I liked the ending, and as much as this book drove me crazy, i can't help but want to know what happens in the next one.
Oh, and i watched the movie. The set and the maze were amazing, exactly how i would have pictures. The grievers though? Not so much.

I totally agree with you. This book had so much potential. Yet in the midst of descriptions and frequent thrilling twists, I feel the writer never gave much attention to character development. And this acted as a huge disadvantage to the book's success.
