Certainly I'll buy the other two books in the series, but in the meantime I'll read La variante di Lüneburg La variante di Lüneburg by Paolo Maurensig by Paolo Maurensig

PattyMacDotComma My Year Of Living Vulnerably sounds like a memoir by talented, tormented Aussie journalist, author, and broadcaster Rick Morton, but it dives into culture, politics, philosophy, and science, especially PTSD and the brain. Fascinating stuff and a great read!

C.E. Cannery (cecannery) | 7 comments Bought a box set of all the Sherlock Holmes books. Got through A study in Scarlet, the sign of four, hound of Baskervilles, and now on The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (Not this particular copy, but the short story bit anyhow.) Enjoying the short stories more than the first two (scarlet/sign of four) -- they fell a bit flat to be compared to the other books, but The Hound of Baskervilles is my favorite (so far). Still reading, though.

Kristie | 5928 comments I just finished The Maidens, which I really enjoyed (my review) and I'm currently reading Malibu Rising. I've read two books by this author and thought they were both great, so I have high expectations for this one.

I've also started The Thursday Murder Club. I've been wanting to read it for a while now. So far, there's just been a lot of characters introduced. However, based on their introductions, I think it's going to be a fun read.

This was an East-meets-West and a coming-of-age tale about a young Chinese woman's experience studying English in the UK. Displacement, loneliness, and trying to fit in are elements common to migrant experiences on both sides of the Pond.

Kristie | 5928 comments I am currently reading a couple of books. I have Malibu Rising Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid on my Kindle and the audio of News of the World News of the World by Paulette Jiles for my real life book club.

I'm also listening to The Inventor's Secret The Inventor's Secret (Cragbridge Hall, #1) by Chad Morris with my grandson.

I think we are going to start either The Witch's Boy The Witch's Boy by Kelly Barnhill or My Life as a Potato My Life as a Potato by Arianne Costner for reading before bed while he's visiting too. The Witch's Boy was recommended to me by a friend, but he tends to like funny books, so I'm not sure which we'll go with.
