I was surprised how much I enjoyed that book. the blurb didn't really appeal to me and often when I read overly hyped books I am disappointed, but that one was really good. I listened to the audio, which I think was a great choice. It reminded me of an old band documentary.

Hahaha... yes, such a short classic. lol

I just went to look at my review of Maisie Dobbs and the first line said, "This story was more of a historical fiction with a bit of a cozy mystery." I also stated that the mystery was easy to figure out. So, looks like a nice break for you, but not a big mystery.

That was a great book. I read it forever ago when it was first released as a serial. I had to wait each month for the next part come out.

Woman Reading (is away exploring) | 397 comments Black Death at the Golden Gate The Race to Save America from the Bubonic Plague by David K. Randall Black Death at the Golden Gate: The Race to Save America from the Bubonic Plague by David K. Randall

Because of the parallels with earlier political stances and ongoing anti-Asian violence, this book really hit home and was both timely and uncomfortable.
