Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments What book about the Tudors or Tudor England would you like to have as our Group Read in January 2020?

If it's in a series, can it be easily read as a stand-alone? If not, you might want to nominate the first book in the series, or the most recent book in it the group has not read together.

Can't remember what we've already read as a group? (Sometimes I can't, either.) There's a "group-reads" shelf on the group's Bookshelf.

Two nominations to a person, please.

Rebecca I second “Richard III and the Princes in the Tower” by Alison Weir

message 7: by William (new)

William Whalen | 68 comments Richard III and the Princes in the Tower by Alison Weir is a revised edition of The Princes in the Tower by Alison Weir which we just read in November.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments Seconds are totally unnecessary.

That sounds fine, Silvia.

William is right; we just read that in November. (The thread is still open.) So you have another nomination, Antonietta.

message 12: by Christine (new)

Christine Hartweg | 48 comments I'd like to nominate Elizabeth The Struggle for the Throne by David Starkey . Would like to say that apparently "Plantagenet Princess, Tudor Queen" was a group read in 2016. Thanks.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments We did indeed read Plantagenet Princess, Tudor Queen: The Story of Elizabeth of York, in September 2016. The next volume of that series is Faithful Traitor: The story of Margaret Pole - we could nominate that.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments If anyone has a nomination they'd like to make, now is a good time to do so; I'll probably be opening the poll later today.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments Alright, I will nominate Elizabeth's London: Everyday Life in Elizabethan London by Liza Picard, and Murder by Misrule, by Anna Castle.

And with that I close nominations.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments The poll is now open. You'll find it at the top of the group's Polls page, the bottom of its Home page, or here: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1... .

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments If the poll closed now, the easy winner would be Faithful Traitor: The story of Margaret Pole.
