Hopefully this year I can finally finish a reading challenge. I decided to try and read 15 books this year.

1. Haunted Terre Haute by Ashley Hood5/5 stars
This book is great for anyone who loves the paranormal and a bit of history. It not only gives the ghost stories but also the history behind the location. My grandparents got this for me for Christmas and I’m so glad they did. If you are from Terre Haute or just want to read some ghost stories, I recommend.
2. The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison3.5/5 stars
I had to read this for my Multicultural Literature class. I gave it 3.5/5 stars because I enjoyed it. I would recommend it but there are trigger warning a for abuse, rape, and incest.
Update: my classes have been moved online for the rest of the semester so hopefully I can get caught up on all the readings I have to do for them. I guess I technically finished my third book because we are done with it in my African Art History class but we skipped around and didn’t read the entire thing.
My Year of Meats by Ruth Ozeki3.5/5 stars
My Year pd Meats is about a reality tv show that shows the American wife to Japanese audiences. It talks about the meat industry. I really enjoyed it.
Maus II by Art Spiegelman4/5 stars
This is the last book that I had to read for my Multicultural Literature class. I gave it 4/5 stars because even though I enjoyed it, it isn’t my favorite.
You by Caroline Kepnes4/5 stars
I have finally finished You. With school I was so busy that I just didn’t have the time to finish it but it’s summer vacation now. I really enjoyed it and I liked that it’s from Joe’s perspective. Now I can watch the first season of You on Netflix because I was determined to not watch it until I finished the book.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins5/5 stars
My first time reading The Hunger Games and I loved it. Reading this in 2020 is strange because it feels too much like current events.
Harleen by Stjepan Sejic3.5/5 stars
I saw that this was free on the Apple bookstore so I decided to download it. I have gotten back into DC comics and I did enjoy this but it was mostly just setting up the story.

Hi, Jordan,
I am sorry you didn't enjoy Maus more than you did. I really loved it!

This is so true!!
Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace by Terry Brooks4/5 stars
This is the novelization of The Phantom Menace. I enjoyed it but there were parts that I skimmed through because even on the movie I didn’t care about, like the pod racing. Other than that it is just the movie in book form with some extra information.
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer5/5 stars
Since Midnight Sun came out I decided that I wanted to read the Twilight Saga for the first time. I love the movies so I knew that I would love this. It’s not the best written book but it is so fun.
