Thank you so much for all the suggestions! :)

I'm happy to join the community! I love classics, clean romance, & suspense thrillers."
Welcome Victoria!!

Thanks Loraine. Ireland is beautiful - my mum is from Northern Ireland - but yes, Scotland is not to be missed! :)

Stephanie, I like Francine Rivers' books too, especially her historical fiction series. Brock and Bodie Thoene also have excellent books set during WWII and 1947-48 Israel. I've also read the other recommended authors and agree with Loraine's list. (As far as I know, Terquerst writes Bible studies. Kingsberry writes contemporary fiction.) I've also written an OT series set in the times of Esther, Ezra, and Nehemiah called the Such a Hope series, which you might enjoy. Glad you joined!

I used to be a homeschool mom, but my boys are grown, married, and now I have grandchildren to read to. I am an animal lover and love to sing as long as only God and my cats can hear me. I'm looking forward to connecting with other Christian fiction lovers.

😆 Welcome back. I also used to be a homeschool mom, and all my kids are adults, My first grandchild was born five weeks ago. I haven't read to her yet since she's almost always sleeping, but I plan to do a lot of it in the future.
Peggy, I’m so glad you’re better able to breathe now. That sounds so scary, going through something like that! Praise the Lord for His healing touch. Happy reading and welcome.

Welcome back Peggy. Hope you are feeling better and glad you have rejoined us.

I have wanted to write Christian fiction for some years, and at last I have achieved this. I have so far sold 60 copies in the first 2 months.

Thank you Andrea!

Thank you so much. I’m so thankful to be here

Yes thankyou, good to be here

Pamela

Welcome and hi Pamela! I also love Christian historical fiction set in those eras but also in the WW2 era as well..I’m glad you’re here too! I enjoy tea, Bible study and cats as well

We have lots in common! I also enjoy books set in WWII, but don't have as many of them on my shelf. I also like researching my family tree, and recently discovered that my great-uncle was Gen. Patton's personal driver during the latter part of the war. That was an interesting discovery!
Pamela

Wow that’s neat that we both love genealogy and the WW2 era. How amazing to discover that about your uncle!

Hi Lila! We do have much in commom! I had beagles as pets most of my life, but after my last beagle died, I became ill with diabetes and kidney failure. I didn't want to get another dog at that point because I worried that the dog might outlive me and it would be hard for them to adjust to a new "mommy" so now I just have my 2 cats. I love them dearly and have had both of them for about 10 years.
I will "friend" you. I read contemporary books sometimes, too. I also find I sometimes change my reading mood...if a book is good, it doesn't matter the setting or era. Thanks for your kind welcome!

I am a genealogy addict as well. My 4th great grandfather was a member of the Lighthorse Brigade and rode with Paul Revere during the Revolutionary War.
Sounds like many of us have common interests. I am a moderator here at CFD, so feel to ask questions if you have any as you navigate our website.

Hi Loraine! How interesting about your 4th great grandfather! Most of my ancestors arrived in the U.S. after the American Revolution. One of my 3rd great uncles was a surgeon in the Union Army during the Civil War. Another fought for the Confederacy with the Washington Artillery of New Orleans, and yet another was a member of The Palmetto Guard and later, Wade Hampton's Legion of Charleston S.C. They moved South before the Civil War and would not fight against their home states when the war broke out...so they remained loyal to their adopted land. What a sad time that was for our Country. It truly was often "brother against brother."
Thank you for your "Friend" reqest! I'm already enjoying this group so much!

Welcome Payton!
I'm fairly new here, too. You'll enjoy this group! I'm an animal lover, too and had horses for many years. Never had a goat, but they are so cute! I had a lamb named Fleecy. Now I have 2 cats...they are my babies! I agree about rainy days. If I can spend a whole day indoors with a good book, I love it!

Welcome and hi Clarissa!

Welcome! This is a great group and I'm sure you will enjoy it very much!"
Yes welcome Clarissa! And we do have a wonderful group here!

Welcome Wendy!

Glad you joined, Wendy! I know you'll enjoy this group! Welcome!

Hi Emilie!
Welcome! This is a great group and I know you will enjoy being here! Amish fiction is "sehr gut!" I enjoy it, too! Beverly Lewis is my favorite Amish author. I live fairly close to Lancaster County and became friends with a nice Amish family who own a bake shop. They are good people!
Nice to have you in our group!
