Welcome, Allean! What genres of books do you enjoy reading?

message 803: by Myra (new)

Myra | 14 comments Hi! My obsession with books goes back as far as I can remember. I think the first series I ever read was LM Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables, as well our school library had the Bobbsey Twins, the Black Stallion, the original Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys, as well as the Little House series. These days Im an almost empty nester with plenty of time on my hands to read (amongst other things). Add me as a friend and I hope we can chat sometimes. My favourite genres are biographies and memoirs, historical fiction and non fiction, esp Victorian and older, yet Frank Peretti might be one of my favourite all time authors. Im glad to have found this group!

Allean, these are some of my favorite books in a few different fiction genres, to get you started. Hope you find a few to enjoy!

Romance
To Win Her Heart by Karen Witemeyer The Lost Lieutenant (Serendipity & Secrets, #1) by Erica Vetsch Shine Like the Dawn by Carrie Turansky Until Leaves Fall in Paris by Sarah Sundin The Librarian of Boone's Hollow (The Librarian of Boone's Hollow, #1) by Kim Vogel Sawyer Springtime in Surrey by Kellyn Roth The Love Note by Joanna Davidson Politano The Icecutter's Daughter (Land of Shining Water, #1) by Tracie Peterson

Women's Fiction
My Heart Remembers by Kim Vogel Sawyer Shaped by the Waves by Christina Suzann Nelson The Story Keeper (Carolina Heirlooms, #2) by Lisa Wingate Lizzy and Jane by Katherine Reay Saving Amelie by Cathy Gohlke Life After by Katie Ganshert Chasing Hope by Kathryn Cushman

Romantic Suspense
Too Close to Home (Women of Justice, #1) by Lynette Eason Life Flight (Extreme Measures, #1) by Lynette Eason The Negotiator (O'Malley, #1) by Dee Henderson One Little Lie (The Pelican Harbor, #1) by Colleen Coble If I Run (If I Run, #1) by Terri Blackstock

Gothic Romance
Finding Lady Enderly by Joanna Davidson Politano Twilight at Moorington Cross by Abigail Wilson

Note: The anthology Springtime in Surrey features eight different stories in a variety of women's fiction and romance genres. The novella I wrote, The Cottage on the Hill, is a clean, sweet romance about a former ballerina who cries into her tea every afternoon and the sheep-farmer neighbor who wonders why ... and what he can do to cheer her up.

ProseAndPetals🌷 | 18 comments Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it. I will definitely look into those books. You are so thoughtful, thank you.

Hello! I have been a reader my whole life but recently I have felt like it's time to find authors that align with my beliefs and can write a good book without these wordly things I should not consume. Happy to be here and meet everyone!

Wendy Andrus (wendykaye) | 36 comments Hello. I'm a book devourer, and have been since I learned to read. My first series was the Little House books (I read them once or twice a year, well into my 20s!). I think my first real introduction to Christian fiction were Janette Oke's books. I'm a mother to 4 grown children, and grandmother to 2 precious boys. I read and review ARCs, as well as reading for a few book challenges. I am currently planning my first reading journal. I am an author wannabe, and an amateur photographer. Looking forward to attempting to get involved in the group!

✨Ruthie Hello! My name is Ruth, and I am an avid reader of anything romance, Christian, and comedy! (Of course, if the books keep it clean!) I love snuggling into a pile of blankets with a book in one hand and coffee or tea in the other! I especially enjoy Laura Franz and Jane Austen.

Hi Wendy! I used to WATCH Little House on the Prairie, but I have never actually read all of the books. I think Janette Oke may have been one of my first Christian authors as well, but I haven't read many of her books. Welcome!

Kathleen Lee | 5 comments Hello CFD! I am looking forward to taking part in this group. I am mother of 5 and grandmother of 12. I am a homeschool mom (finished) and now a homeschooling grandmother of 2 of my grandchildren...both special needs. I read a LOT! As a child of 4 I did not carry around dolls or stuffed animals...but a little box with books. I spent my first 5 years in a University of Washington boarding house where the college students were always reading or lugging or stacking books. Currently I have been reading through the 45 book historical fiction series on Israel by Bodie & Brock Thoene. I have 5 books to go. I highly recommend! Another incredible book I just finished is Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. I am new to Goodreads. I have been listing books I have been currently reading but only a few from what I have read. That would be an incredibly long list!

Hello everyone 👋
I'm Dainelle, a Christian, lover of books and aspiring author. Pursuing an English degree has somewhat nerfed my ability to read for pleasure, so I'm fighting to get back into it.

My reading preferences are cosy mysteries and psychological fiction. I would also love to write psychological fiction with Christian themes.

Feel free to add me. I'd love to chat!

My name is Kristi and I have been trying to find good books that are clean fiction. I am a Christ follower. It really bothers me how much unnecessary language, sex, and other themes are in contemporary books these days!

message 848: by Tripp (new)

Tripp Berry | 2 comments Hi all! I'm a Child of the One True God and follower of Jesus Christ. Love to read, especially fantasy and action-adventure.

I write as Tripp Berry Tripp Berry. I've done a couple non-fictions, but lately working on a series of action-adventure fantasy-style books set before the flood of Noah (books 1-5 published). No on page sex or swears, though rather violent at times with some intense scenes.

I'm looking to both connect to readers The Woodbender: Book One of: The War of the Nephilim. But also, I'm looking for your recommendations of Christian books in fantasy, action adventure, and sci-fi genres. Something gritty is just fine.
