Thank you, Andrea, Loraine, and Kate, for the warm welcome and the congratulations on my book.

Kristina, I enjoy sci-fi too, when I can find a good clean author. I've created a shelf for the ones I've read if you want to check it out. :)

Have you tried The Girl Who Could See
by Kara Swanson? It's YA scifi and so good!
For historical, I like virtually anything by Kim Vogel Sawyer, but I recommend beginning with this one:
My Heart Remembers
And I love a good emotional, contemporary story. One of my favorite authors is Christina Suzann Nelson.

My name is Theona. I think that I may be a little confused with this book club when I joined. Is there an actual virtual meet-up to discuss the book of the month? Like a zoom meeting?

Welcome to the group, Theona. No, there is no actual virtual meet-up. The book club discussions of the book of the month take place in the thread for that book. It's not a typical 'book club discussion night', but we've had some interesting discussions over the years I've been a member here.
We are glad to have you with us, but will understand if our 'text only format' doesn't quite work with what you're looking for.
God bless!🙂

Anyway, I'm Emmilly (or Emmy for short), im Brazilian, and I'm excited to be a part of this awesome group! :)
Welcome, Emmy! So glad the welcome letter was helpful. Let us know if you get lost. We'll try to help. Happy reading!

Welcome, Leafy Reads! We're glad you've joined us. Let us know if you need help finding something.

Welcome, Shaunna! So glad you've joined us.

I have tried to read books in adult fiction, but seem to be disappointed because of the content, so I am glad that Christian fiction is becoming so much more accessible. I am having a good time checking out all the recommendations in the threads so far.
Welcome, Sherry! The monthly challenges might be a good place to start. Some readers read only one or two books for them, and that is perfectly acceptable. The point is to have fun while we're reading books.
I know what you mean about questionable content. It's so prevalent these days. I'm grateful for the Christian authors who refrain from using such nonsense in their books. Have you tried Carrie Turansky or Kim Vogel Sawyer? They're two of my favorites in historical Christian fiction.

I write clean YA/New Adult romance/suspense. I released my first book this year (a paranormal suspense/romance centered around spiritual warfare) and will likely release a second one in a few months (a YA sports romance).
We attend a wonderful church in Northern Virginia.

Thanks Loraine! Good to see you! :-)

Good morning! My name is Nick Gerasimou and I've been a faith-based author for quite a while now. I love writing and I love Jesus.

Hi! I've been exploring the group feeds the last two days, and once I found the one on read-a-holics, I knew I'd found a home. I'm not happy if I don't have access to books, and now that I have an ereader app on my phone, I never have to be without. Looking forward to learning more about what Christian fiction is available, especially in the cozy, general fiction or humour categories.
Welcome, all!
Here are a few of my recommendations for newbies to Christian fiction:
Women's historical fiction (romance is NOT the main thread):
Regency (romance):
Contemporary women's fiction:
Suspense:
Legal suspense:
Historical romance:
Anthology (I'm one of the authors in this one, but all the stories are really good):

Hi Katherine! Welcome! If you'd like a recommendation let me know and I could post the Amazon link to my novel. Cheers and God Bless!

Glad I'm not the only one that still enjoys juvenile fiction.

Thanks for the recommendations. I may try the anthology. Looks like a good way to find several new authors, and I love books set in England.
