Michelle wrote: "If I can find the book, I might join if you're going to read it for May..."
Michelle, if you want to suggest this book for buddy reading, you can do that for a future month i.e. starting from June.
@Trisha, I'm fine then, I'll read it on my own this month ;). I saw that part 2 and 3 of the series are in the list already for July and August and I would like to participate with those then :).Clarrificiation: that would be shadow of night in July and the book of life in August ;).
Veronica wrote: "I'd like to join The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon in June"Great, next month I am doing also a stephen king book. Would you also like to join that one?

Which one will you be reading?

The long walk

You know what, count me in for The Long Walk! I wasn’t gonna read because I already had books planned out for the month but there’s always room for a Stephen King to squeeze in.
Happy Monday, Trisha!I would like to join the buddy read for Daisy Jones & The Six in June. I meant to read this book last year and am DETERMINED to do so this year! :)
I am interested in reading The Ten Thousand Doors of January for June, but doubt I'll have a copy to do so, so I won't join unless that happens! :)
Thank you for all your work to enable these buddy reads!
I'm not completely sure if I'm doing this right & therefore apologize if it's wrong.I'd like to join the BR for July suggested by Shareen (Books 2 & 3).Shadow of Night
I've never done a BR here (or anywhere else for that matter lol). Are there any other feeds that I need to post in? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks everyone!
This is great! So, Trisha, it looks like Amanda (SquidgetsRoom), Michelle, and I plan to read A Discovery of Witches in May. In case you do want to add it. And the three of us, as well as Ruthie, are still thinking July and August for the two books that follow, but can confirm for you then! Thanks so much, sorry for the mire. And YAY on the added Stephen King readers!

Great!

We can discuss Raven Boys #2 in July!
My hold from the library is supposed to come through before that so I may finish it before July. OR if I have too much on my plate then I'll re-request it from the library for July.
Ruthie wrote: "Eirelyn wrote: "Ruthie, I definitely want to continue The Raven Boys series with book #2. May is a bit packed for me right now, though. this sounds fun how do i join or start
Welcome, and I love that cereal. You recommend a book on here, and if someone seconds it, a Buddy Read is born! You would list the Title, Author, and Month you would like to read. If you see a book that you want to join, jump in and second it! I am not a Moderator, this is just how I understand it! Oh, and the hard-working Moderators will produce a summary at the end of each month (which is my Christmas, lol), and they will create a thread to discuss each book.
Updated to hereKeshav, it is unfortunately too late to suggest more books for the month of May. Cutoff for new suggestions is the 25th of each month. Thank you!

Ruthie wrote: "Eirelyn wrote: "Ruthie, I definitely want to continue The Raven Boys series with book #2. May is a bit packed for me right now, though. I could maybe do June; although, July would actually be ideal..."@Ruthie, great, thanks! I'm excited. :D
@Isabella, yay! I'm glad you'll be joining us again. I'll try to get it read earlier & not rush to finish it right at the end of the month this time. XD
Coco wrote: "this sounds fun how do i join or start"Welcome to Buddy Reads, Coco! To understand how this works, please go through the first post of this thread which has all the information. Should you still have a question, let us know and we'll help you!
Ugh, I apparently cannot help myself. The Kindle edition of Arkady Martine's science fiction novel A Memory Called Empire is currently on sale for $2.99 on Amazon.com!
I shamelessly bought it yesterday and will be reading it in June.
Would anyone be interested in buddy-reading it with me?
Tiitle: A Memory Called Empire
Author: Arkady Martine
Genre: Science Fiction (space opera)
Pages: 472 (Kindle edition)
Nominated month: June
I would like to suggest:Dear John by Nicholas Sparks in June,
The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris in July,

I will join on Cell by Stephen King for August! I would join on all of these picks, but I am booked ;)
Eirelyn wrote: "Anyone want to read Looking for Alaska by John Green with me in August or later?"I'll read this with you, Eirelyn. I have always been curious about John Green books, but never quite found the motivation to read one.
Mena wrote: "I'll read this with you, Eirelyn. I have always been curious about John Green books, ..."Mena, assuming that you're okay with reading Looking for Alaska in August, buddy read has been confirmed.
Mena, that's great! :D I look forward to it. I've read a few John Green novels, and I've liked some better than others. I've never disliked any, but he does write in a genre I generally enjoy, so I suppose that's not surprising. XD
Anyone want to buddy read where the crawdads sing by Delia Owens in June?? I’m new to this so don’t know how it works x
Rachel wrote: "Anyone want to buddy read where the crawdads sing by Delia Owens in June?? I’m new to this so don’t know how it works x"I want to read that one like crazy, but I cannot in June. If you decide to go later, I will join you! Thanks!
I will join Ruthie in reading Harrow the Ninth in August, provided that it is released on time (scheudled for Aug. 4) and that my library is open again by then so that I can get the book.
Just want to check again if anyone wants to read these in June or July because my library holds will be available then.Long Bright River by Liz Moore
Mr. Nobody by Catherine Steadman
The Other People by CJ Tudor
Yes No Maybe So by Becky Albertalli
Courting Darkness by Robin LaFevers (#1 in series, want to read #2 also)
Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim (#1 in series, want to read #2 also)
Mods, if no one responds then you can take these off the spreadsheet because I can only do them in June or July because of when my library hold comes through.
I would like to join Shareen in buddy reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in May and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in June.

What is the Courting Darkness one like, in terms of what you and I have been Buddy Reading? Thanks! (It would have to be July, if we go for it, and if that works for you...)
Shareen wrote: "Ruthie wrote: "Just want to check again if anyone wants to read these in June or July because my library holds will be available then.Long Bright River by Liz Moore

Just looked up Courting. I am IN! Can we do that in July, then figure out the sequel for when you can get it? THANKS!
@KristinMD thank you! I have never been on anything like this before so still trying to get the feel of things
Rachel, IF it would not be too much trouble, I can do August. I know that seems so far out, but I went ham on the next three months, and will likely have overflow!
Ruthie and Marc, Harrow the Ninth is confirmed for August.Ruthie and Shareen, Courting Darkness is confirmed for July.
Shareen and Naomi's, it is too late to add May Buddy Reads, but I have confirmed Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for June.
Rachel and Shareen, when you agree on a month to read Where the Crawdads Sing I will confirm it.
Updated through here
Thank you, SarahKat! And Naomi, I am reading Order of the Phoenix this month, anyway, so we can be Direct Message Buddy Readers with it, if you like!
