2020 January-June Buddy Read Sign-Up Thread
I'd like to join oshizu in reading Sailing to Sarantium in February! (Might also be open to reading the 2nd book, too. We'll see.)I'd also like to join Lynn in reading The Scent Keeper in February & A Touch of Gold in March!
If it isn't too late to suggest a book -I would like to see if I can get a buddy or even several buddies to read The Queen's Bargain
in March.Edited to add -> this is part of the Black Jewels series.
HiI'd like to join the buddy group for
. This is my first time posting so I'm not sure what happens now?
Julie wrote: "HiI'd like to join the buddy group for

I had already posted to Nancy that I plan to start reading this about mid-month (January 15), unless you or she needs to read it earlier. If that is the case, just let me know and I can start earlier! :)

Nicole wrote: "I'd like to join oshizu in reading Sailing to Sarantium in February! (Might also be open to reading the 2nd book, too. We'll see.)"Yay! Thank you, Nicole! It's gonna be awesome.
No pressure to read the second book, though, if you're not feeling it or get too busy.

YW! Yay! The synopsis sounds interesting & tbh I've never seen a character who was a mosaicist before, so I'm looking forward to that (and perhaps learning something about the craft).
Yeah, we'll see! It looks like my library has a copy, at least, so that's good. ^_^
Lindsay wrote: "On I see on the spreadsheet A Touch of Gold was moved to April. Whenever it is, I'll do it"It still says March on the spreadsheet. (The Goldfinch is in April, though, so you may have seen 'Gold' and accidentally misread the listing.) Anyway, welcome!
Ashleigh wrote: "I'd like to suggest The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank for February as I plan to read it then."I think I may have that book somewhere on my shelves & I still need to read it, so if I can manage doing the other buddy reads I've committed to, I may join this one, too.
I would like to read Unmentionable: The Victorian Lady's Guide to Sex, Marriage, and Manners in February.
Lynn wrote: "I would like to join Hanca in February for To Kill a Mockingbird, please!"I would also like to read To Kill a Mockingbird. It will be my 4th time, but its a favorite with me!
I'd like to join the buddy read for The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid and Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin, Doug Wheatley .{Can we join the buddy read challenge just by commenting or is there an another way to join it.}
SarahKat wrote: "I'll join oshizu and Nicole for Sailing to Sarantium in February too"Thank you, SarahKat! I'm looking forward to February so much now!
Hi,
I would like to join in February: Know My Name, by Chanel Miller, suggested by Lindsay. Thank you

Hi. I'm thinking about reading a few classics this year, if anyone is interested.~The Winter's Tale by William Shakespeare (in February?)
~The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger (in March?)
~A Separate Peace by John Knowles (in April?)
The months are merely suggestions; I'm open to any month, really.
I've never read The Winter's Tale, but I read the other two in high school. I would like to re-read them, though, as I think I'd have a better appreciation for them now. :)
Lindsay wrote: "I'll join A Touch of Gold with Lynn in March"Me too. Admin make me buddy-read with Lindsay and Lynn on A Touch of Gold
I'd like to find a buddy who would like to read The Queen's Bargain
in March or April. This book is part of the Black Jewels series and the newest in the series.
Would anybody like to join me with the Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery series starting with book 1. I want to start February and then each month 1 book. Book 1-9https://www.goodreads.com/series/2421...
I would like to join the following:Know My Name by Chanel Miller
The Catcher in the Rye
A Separate Peace
Anne of Green Gables
Does a recommended book need to get another to join in BEFORE it makes the list?I've asked for a book several times and since nobody has asked to join me I am assuming that is why it isn't making the spread-sheet.
Kristin wrote: "Dianne, no, the delay is because I also have a full-time job and do this as a volunteer. I will update at my next available time. Thank you for your patience."Well I was also worried that you might be ill. Sorry to sound so impatient.I've been a Mod in a very large forum and I know how stressful it can be.
Ugh, my library messed me around and the Diary of a Young Girl became available for the last two weeks of January and not February anymore haha, and considering they only loan it for two weeks, I can no longer do it in February (go figure lol). Honestly, the one time you don't want a book early...Next availability isn't until March once I left the queue and tried to rejoin too!
Ashleigh wrote: "Ugh, my library messed me around and the Diary of a Young Girl became available for the last two weeks of January and not February anymore haha, and considering they only loan it for two weeks, I c..."I'm not the mod in charge of Buddy Reads, but I believe you can join the Buddy Read even after you're done with the book.
If I were you, I'd jot down my impressions as I go through the book, making sure you know what parts of the book they're in (chapters 1-4, chapters 5-7, etc.)
Once the Buddy Read thread is posted, you can post your thoughts under spoiler tags so your buddy readers know when they can read them. Plus, you can respond to your buddy readers as they make their way through the book.
Oh wait, you already left the queue? Oops! And sorry!
Ashleigh wrote: "Ugh, my library messed me around and the Diary of a Young Girl became available for the last two weeks of January and not February anymore haha, and considering they only loan it for two weeks, I c..."You can always read a book ahead of the month it's listed for a Buddy Read :) Everyone reads at their own pace anyway, so people aren't always at the same spot at the same time.
Ah, okay! Sorry, I didn't know I could read ahead of time. My bad. Um, March is a bit packed for me, but I could do April :)
Hey all! I'm new here and I just started
A Little Life I am only on page 40, so if any would love to join me I just started. :)

Hi Chantal,
I recently picked up books 1-4 at a thrift store so I'll read them with you.
