Done!
Done!

Done!"
Thank you!

Thanks
What do you mean, Shari? We will keep the spreadsheet and plans open until the first week of January, but we may post a Google form to collect stats before the end of the year so that we can compile it. But you have until midnight of December 31, 2023 to finish the challenge!
I was just wondering if the 2024 spreadsheet has been set up yet - or do I need to grab a column in the 2024 plans sheet in the current one?
No, we haven't posted the new 2024 completion tabs yet. I usually post those 1-2 weeks before the new year for people to grab their spots, and the 2024 Plans tab will be going away at the end of the month to make room.
Hey Trish, here's the link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
It's the same spreadsheet we use for 2023; the 2024 plans and rejects tabs are open now. The 2024 tracking tabs will open closer to the new year.

Aha. Thank you.
I might hang on for now, then, as I don't really "plan" - I see what prompts a books I've read will fit!

For a challenge, does the book have to be started AND finished during the challenge, or only finished? For example, for the Winter Challenge that started Dec 1, does the book have to be started Dec 1 or later, or can I count a book that was started in November but finished in December?
Hi Emily! Our general rule is that a book must have at least 100 pages to go (or 100 minutes of audio) left for it to count. However, we only worry about that for certain challenges (the read-a-thons and the Summer Reading Challenge) and the rest of the challenges are up to you!

Awesome! Thanks for the quick response!

Hi. It appears that the 2024 rejects tab is now missing from the file. Did it get moved or deleted?
I have hidden it for now, as we have requested all plans get moved to the GR planning threads to make way for the 2024 tabs coming soon. I will put up a new (blank) rejects tab when we get closer to 2024 for people to track their rejects challenges on.
If you didn't get a chance to copy over your rejects plan to a thread, I can reopen the tab for a bit so you can copy it over.

Sorry, I read that step and then forgot. No, I'm okay. I keep a spreadsheet anyway with all my challenges. I just made a few changes to my plan and wanted to update the sheet. I will just wait for the final one. Thanks for getting back! I was afraid I was losing my mind!!

What is the "reject" column in the spreadsheet for?"
When we vote on prompts, the vast majority of suggestions don't make the final list (hence the 'rejects'). Some people have favorites that they want to do anyway and so they do a 'rejects' challenge where they take on extra prompts. Entirely optional, but fun!

We removed the planning tab to make room for the 2024 tabs coming later this month. It's hidden, so we can show it if you need to access it to move your plans into a thread here.

You would go to this folder and create New Topic to create a thread where you would track your plans!

I typically sort the Plans folder by alphabetical (it defaults to most recently commented on top) and, from there, I can find my topic in the alphabetical list.

Thanks. I felt as if I was looking for a needle in a haystack.
I never realized you could sort! I always tried to remember what page mine was on, but of course that changes as new threads are added.

Sort? How do you sort the topics?

Yes, for over 3 years, I kept paging through looking for my plan! Sometimes when I found it, I just added a short note in order to make my thread move to the top. This is much easier.

Another sign of my digital ignorance, I didn’t know you could bookmark a thread instead of the whole topic!

I can’t figure out how to do this. Only the date column appears to be sortable for me. I wonder if this is a mod power?
Is there a way for us to search a topic thread?

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/.... What am I doing wrong?

The "search discussion posts" search bar has been glitching for a while now. It's a goodreads problem.
I recommend grabbing the link and saving it somewhere (I keep mine on the community spreadsheet) for easy access! You can also sort the folder alphabetically and that may help you find it quicker.

Thank you. I’m not good with computers so thought it must have been down to me

I set up a private group for myself where I keep links to all my post threads. It makes it easy to keep track of tasks and I can spread out and keep myself sorted.
I'm going to take it easy this coming year. 2023 imploded on me about half-way through and I never did recover, so I'm not going to plan TOO far ahead this coming year.
But I still plan to keep up with my private group.

I don't know what device you are on, but you should be able to move across without clicking each column. Otherwise, you can use CtrlF or equivalent to look for your name - no other Perri's, I'm sure. It might land you on an author with the name Perrin or similar. If you have a common name like Sara or Jen, there would be a lot more to search through!

Thanks Robin, you're right, I can glide instead of click. Still I"m a lot further from the front than I was last year. Perrin in my grandson's name :)

You can try to remember which column you are in, like BH or whatever, but sometimes people drop out and your column location could change.
