Hello: My question is how many wild cards can we use throughout the year to swap out prompts we don't want to read? I have about 6 prompts left and some of them I am not really wanting to read, but I think I used a wild card already this year. Can't remember. But am hoping we can use more then one. Thanks Viemag
Officially, you can use one. But it’s your challenge and we aren’t going to police you, so if you need to use five or six or seven wild cards, we won’t judge you!

I have put my name in the planning spreadsheet twice now, adding a few suggestions for myself and twice it seems to have been removed. Am I doing something wrong? Both times before the lists got separated into different sections. Does a mod have to put me in it?Or maybe I just can't find it.
Joyce, I looked through the revision history and I can't seem to find you on the spreadsheet at all. The planning tab was deleted on December 10, and everyone was warned to move their plans to the GR threads. The 2022 tabs that are up are completion threads, so no books should be added to those until January 1.
Unless you're talking about the 2021 tabs?

I think it was on the planning tab. I did save to the planning thread as well. So I can put my name on the spreadsheet for completion of the different tasks.
I don't know if this is the right place to ask....but the prompt that says 4. A book that fits your favorite prompt that did not make the list. So, if your new, just pick one you like on the didn't make it list? I know that sounds obvious, but just checking...."my favorite prompt" I don't think I have one at this point. :)
Yes, Lori, you can just pick one that you like! Or you can read a book then find a prompt that the book fits… we have members tackle that prompt both ways.
Emily, I remember last year that at least one person said she always started her year in December rather than waiting for the New Year. I would like to do this too, since I wrapped up all my 2021 ATY reading and side challenges a couple weeks ago. Does anyone else do this?
It's your challenge, so you can absolutely start now if you'd like. I would just request you hold off putting them into the community spreadsheet until the first of the year!
Hey Sallie! For 2022, you can find them here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
There's also a link on the Weekly Thread for Week 4 that links to that thread!

Jillian wrote: "Kim wrote: "I am new here but would like to use the spreadsheet but I dont see the new one for 2022. am I missing a link somewhere? the newsletter we got today says to use the link in the mod corne..."What was throwing it off is that the title was still 2021. I just changed the name of the spreadsheet and hid the 2021 tabs.
Emily, feel free to adjust if you had other plans in mind for handling it.
Ah thanks Steve! I had hidden the 2021 tabs earlier today, but people keep opening them (which is fine... if they hide them when they are done). But I had forgotten about the title of the spreadsheet! Appreciate that!
Can I still add to the 2021 spreadsheet? I couldn't find it yesterday, and I couldn't reach GR at all today. I guess all my fellow booklovers got there first
I am trying to add my name to the community spreadsheet, but it is not showing up in the box. What am I doing wrong?
Allegra, we have hidden the tabs for the 2021 challenge as we have started the 2022 challenge!
Valerie, it looks like the text was set to white for the box you were typing into... I've changed it to black and the text shows up!

GOOD GRIEF! Thanks so much!
Not yet! I'm going to post it one more time in announcements and will hopefully post the results this weekend!
Hi I'm new here and would like to play. What does this mean 'A book with a woman in STEM'?
What is STEM?
Thank you
Jazzy, a woman in STEM would be a woman who works in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or math. Basically any book that features a woman working in a scientific field!
Hi, I'm new to this group. Where do I find the prompts for 'A book that fits your favorite prompt that did not make the list'
Kat wrote: "Hi, I'm new to this group. Where do I find the prompts for 'A book that fits your favorite prompt that did not make the list'"Hi Kat! Welcome!
The list of prompts is in this thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Just note that some of them DID make the list in the end so you may need to double check against the overall list.
How do I add the challenge in the challenge box to keep track of my reading? I hit edit and put the amount of books in and then i try to copy the bookshelf name, but there is no copy option. Just copy url. Can someone walk me through it step by step? It is not keeping track of my progress.
Thank you for answering my STEM question but I am in need of help! I spent several hours trying to edit my spreadsheet line the other day and now my line is gone. I might add, I'm a musician. I don't know anything about office work. This spreadsheet is like a foreign country.
This is doing my head in, haha.

Kelly, if it's not letting you copy, you can just type in your shelf name with the dashes. For example, my shelf is named 2022 ATY Challenge, and it worked when I typed in 2022-aty-challenge.

Hm, I was able to copy it from your bookshelf... try copying the name of your shelf from me: aty-in-52-books
Emily wrote: "Hm, I was able to copy it from your bookshelf... try copying the name of your shelf from me: aty-in-52-books"No, this didn't work either. I'm going nuts! This is the first time this has happened. I'll try my laptop, maybe it's my computer? I don't know. I'm using Chrome internet browser. I even tried it on my phone. Nothing. Thanks for the help though. I don't get why it's not working.
You could try creating the shelf through the challenge - when it asks you for the name of your shelf, if you put in something new, it will create the shelf for you and then it will link it automatically. But I've also found that it doesn't always count books I add to the shelves and sometimes I have to take the books off and add them again, or click on the link to force it to sync.
Kendra wrote: "You could try creating the shelf through the challenge - when it asks you for the name of your shelf, if you put in something new, it will create the shelf for you and then it will link it automati..."OK, I figured out that I'm just stupid. I tried your suggestion and it didn't seem to work. What I realized is that it was working the whole time, but it wasn't counting the book I read because I had a different version on my shelf than the one I marked as read. I just erased the other version from my bookshelf and put the right version in and it started keeping track. It took me three days of frustration to figure that out. I realized what I did after you said it doesn't always count your books. Thank you!!
What a saga, so glad you got it sorted it out. I'll have to remember that, because I'm sure lots of people will run into the exact same thing.

Hi, I'm new here and I was just going to add my name to the spreadsheet but it says 1) that I'm only supposed to add books and 2) when I scroll to the first empty column it says it's only for names starting on A - F .... so I'm kind of confused here and don't know what to do. I appreciate any help. Thank you =)
Hi Nike!
At the bottom, there are a few tabs... you would go to the tab 2022 (M-Z) to add your name to the list. You'll put your name to claim your column, then add the books as you read them! It's easiest to do on the Google Sheets app if you're on your phone, or on a computer. Hope that clears it up!

Question - I had entered 2 books on the spreadsheet, then decided they fit better under other prompts. So I erased them and typed them under other prompts. But the total at the bottom still shows the same, that is 2 more than I really have. I assume it is counting the 2 that are now blank? Eventually it will even out because I will put something else there, but I don't remember that happening before.
