I began this group to keep a track of the number of books I read about my hometown (insufficient, to say the least) and I know I am not alone in this.
As a start to a new year, I have put together a list of 12 books (a book per month) that have been pending in my 'to-read' list. Members are encouraged to replace read books with new books for any month. Would love to get new recommendations. :)
Here you go!
1) Swarnalata - Tilottama Misra
2) Any one book by Sanjoy Hazarika
3) The Collector's Wife - Mitra Phukan
4) As The River Flows - Ranjita Biswas
5) Chinatown Days - Rita Chowdhury
6) The History of Assam: From Yandabo to Partition, 1826-1947 - Priyam Goswami
7) The Moth-Eaten Howdah of the Tusker - Indira Goswami
8) Any one book by Arupa Patangia Kalita (Depending on availability)
9) The Mothers of Manipur: Twelve Women Who Made History - Teresa Rahman
10) Being Mizo: Identity and Belonging in Northeast India -
11) Any one book by Temsula Ao (Depending on availability)
12) Next Door: Stories - Jahnavi Barua
Happy Reading!
