I hadn’t seen the commercial either. I think it’s really good. I’m sure some people will freak out over it, but hopefully it will open some eyes.

I don't think I've ever seen a Starbucks commercial here. We have some, but mostly at trainstations and airports, not so much in cities. Except Amsterdam.
BTW, the same news article talked about Starbucks in Japan selling Cheese Latte. It's not april fools day is it? LOL

Have you heard of Greenbook? I came across it yesterday and ordered one today. It's a notebook with whiteboard pages, so you can use it over and over again, instead of using paper notebooks. You can't accidentally erase the writing with your hand, but you erase it with a cloth and some water. I've had a small A5 size whiteboard at work for years, on which I keep track of my to do list (so much better to erase it then to scratch it out, and rewrite it all the time as some stuff tends to stay on my list forever), but for temporary notes that I don't need to keep I use paper.
I ordered one with lined whiteboard pages, but they also have to do lists, habit trackers, planners, and all kind of other stuff.
Not heard of those Peggy but sounds great. I write a lot of lists, generally on scraps of paper. But this would be perfect.

I will haveva look,,thanks for telling us about this.
I had a quick google and there are actually quite a lot of different reusable notepads. I just bought one, not the greenbook one, but a different one from the UK. I'm excited to use it.
Awesome that you bought one right away Sarah! When I googled it I also noticed that there are many. And they've been around for years!
Sounds very interesting! I will take a look. I think I can't do without writing the "regular" way. My planner for example is something I can't get rid of. I have an app, but it is not the same. I still use my regular planner. Those reusable notebooks/planners can be a good option.
Janice wrote: "I'll have to check the whiteboard notebooks out."Already did a search for Canada. I was curious. Not that I use paper a lot. Check Wipebook.ca.
I also like the idea of using it for buddy read/group read notes. Then when the book is finished i can wipe it out and start again. But i'll mainly be using it for my to do lists.
Good idea! I might use it for my shopping lists too. The only downside is that you can't fold the pages, and I don't think it will fit in the shoulder bag I use, so I would have to carry it around all the time.I should be getting mine today :)
The first big storm of the year is heading our way. It is all over the news since a couple of days that we'll get winds of 130km/h, rain...Normally Ciara will hit tomorrow at noon untill Monday evening. I hope it wouldn't be that bad as the weatherforecast is predicting it.

It's a nasty one! We lost states off the room with a very loud crash in the middle of the night. We'll have to get someone up there to see what the damage is next week.
Ironically it was our election day yesterday. The results of that are looking disastrous too with our republican party making massive gains. I can't say I'm surprised with some of the rhetoric coming out of certain british political figures recently. Those people never consider the consequences of what they say and the rest of us have to live with the results. Their attempts to sew discord are bearing fruit. I feel very bitter today *sigh*
Very windy here too. The area where I live will get the worst of it (extremely strong winds, lots of rain, hail, thunder) around midnight. That's going to be a night with little sleep...
Stay safe you guys!! Hope you all get passed over with minimal fuss.Still on fire here, but we are expecting major rainfall over night and tomorrow. Sydney and the north coast have already flooded. Waiting for us next ;)
Margo wrote: "Ironically it was our election day yesterday...."Not sure how your elections work and who is up for what, but as an international person, I've really liked your Taoiseach. No idea of his policies or politics, but from over on this little island on the other side of the world, he's represented you guys with dignity and grace with this whole Brexit fiasco. I cannot name another Irish Taoiseach, or even knew the name of the post until now. So it speaks a lot.
Hope things go your way, Margo. Understand the feeling too. We've got Scotty from Marketing "running" shit from here and the country is going exactly how that sentence sounds.
ROLF Scotty from Marketing hahahaBTW Leo, will soon be our ex Taoiseach! I liked him too but the poor election perform by his party has to stop at his door. Due to the joys of proportional representation it will be some time before we know who will be in government but it won't be a single party :(
Wow, mad election results! We are all in a state of shock - Sinn Fein, our nationalist party, have swept the board on first preference votes. The fact that they have only one candidate running in each district - 4 -5 seats per district- will prevent them getting an overall majority.I think that the establishment parties will band together to keep them out of government but you can never tell with politicians. They all swore last week that they wouldn't touch S.F. with a barge poll but ....a week is a long time in politics!
This is a shameless past solicitating birthday wishes. Today is my birthday. I will be having dinner out with my family. Oh and I get to choose the restaurant. I think it will be a fish place.
Wishing you a very happy birthday Renee and enjoy your meal out!
Happy birthday Renee.Oh boy what a storm we had! I was in bournemouth for the weekend on the south coast and the waves were huge. The wind really took your breathe away. The drive home was horrendous. So much water. We coukdn't see a couple times as big puddles splashed up to cover the windscreen and rain so heavy the wipers couldn't keep up. We hit a branch that had fallen. We couldn't swerve due to oncoming traffic. No damage done. A bit ffurther we had to stop to wait for the police to clear a big tree which had fompletely blicked the road. So much damage around. And all the flooding. It's crazy. It has been a long time ssince we've had a storm like that. Did you get the snow blizzard Margo? My friend is in Belfast and she said it had been snowing bad this morning. None of that here.
Sounds much worse than we had here Sarah. It's scary when you can't see because of the rain and then knowing there can be stuff on the road too!
That storm sounds horrendous. I'm glad you made it home safe, Sarah. That drive sounded scary with trees being knocked down and flooding.
Jeez Sarah, glad you are safe! I'd always pull over in weather like that, but thinking about your roads, I just don't know how you could do that safely either. I agree with Sandra, how did the boat fare?
Renee wrote: "This is a shameless past solicitating birthday wishes. Today is my birthday. I will be having dinner out with my family. Oh and I get to choose the restaurant. I think it will be a fish place."Renee, hope you had a great birthday - sometimes the only way to be is shameless :-D
Peggy wrote: "Sounds much worse than we had here Sarah. All I could think of during the hail storms was Rusalka's video - it really puts weather in perspective when you see hail stones that smash windows!
Apparently the snow and ice is coming from Canada - thanks for that guys LOL
Happy birthday, Renee! That was a nasty storm! It's still very windy, but the worst is over. There was a lot of damage all over the country and there was springtide yesterday. The stables where my horse is, was closed for 2 days, some schools were closed...The worse part of the storm hit us very late in the evening untill yesterday evening. I had Japanese class yesterday and it was raining, thunder, lightning...I left so fast, that I had my rainingpants backwards on!
No snow or ice here. We're having very strange temperatures. To hot for a winter. I think we won't get any winter this year.
Thank you all for the birthday wishes. It sounds like the weather their is awful. Here it sunny but very cold. I had a wonderful trout dinner for my birthday. It was spent with family. It was perfect.
The boat has faired well thanks. Still windy but better. It supposed to build again at the weekend with more heavy rain. We had hail/snow combo this evening but stopped as quick as it started. Weather is a funny thing at the moment.

LOL! We had freezing rain, wind and snow today. I'm thinking we got it from Ireland since they had it first. Hehehe!

We had a storm last Friday. I could not even see across the street. Got at least 35 cm of the white stuff that day. Still I`d rather have snow than ice.
We had great weather last week with temps above freezing. So the storm is spreading with Quebec as the centre?
Its getting annoyingly cold in here, This week's been a very busy week, teaching, substitute teaching and the principal's work, taking today off and I feel great, tomorrow I just need to go to a meeting thats 30 min away and then my weekend will start, I'm hoping I can do more reading now that I'm free. I've been trying to find Arabic books (since I mainly read in English) Its not very easy to find decent books in my language that sparks my interest.
