Oh, that is sweet, Sandra. I love the letters!

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Better than getting a nudge for a bite of food, is when my parrot, Tim, used to climb up the side of the couch and announce "Boo", as I opened my eye to look at him. That wicked beak right next to my ear always gave me shivers. He never bit me though. I miss him.

message 2408: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11638 comments Yeah, very quite the last few days.

I don't have any cheer to share. My uncle got his biopsy results and the cancer has moved into his lung and lymph nodes so, not good.

Sarah | 18550 comments I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle's results, Margo. Love to you all.

message 2418: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Yes it has been quiet on here. Not much to do at the moment here whilst in lockdown. I'm bored of having not a lot to talk about when I speak to people.

message 2419: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11638 comments I know that feeling Sarah! November will be a long month. At least you had a bit of drama with Dominic Commings leaving Downing Street with his cardboard box 📦 LOL And of course we have Trimps antics in the White House to give us a giggle. What would we do without our betters to entertain us 😆

message 2420: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments That is true Margo. Cummings and Trump have definitely caught my interest the last few weeks. Cummings needed to go back when he drove to the other end of the country with covid.

We had an EU commissioner who did the same Sarah but our guy ended up at a swanky golf club dinner now known as "golf gate". Our man wasn't actually infected but he could have been. The do itself broke all the rules and led to a ton of resignations from the great and good *scoff*.

We had a nasty storm yesterday. Orange alert but it was a bad one. Looks like we lost a tree.

message 2422: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments We had a bit of a storm here too Margo. So much rain! The towpath is now a very sticky soggy muddy mess.

I've been struggling to sleep over the last couple of weeks. I'm only getting about 4-4.5 hours sleep per night. I think it's because i'm so inactive due to the pandemic thqt i'm not tiring myself out. It's so frustrating. I need to start up my yoga again and go walking.

message 2423: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11638 comments I know that feeling Sarah. I'm really missing the pool. I used to go three times a week but it had to close in march and hasn't reopened. I joined a wheelchain exercise group on YouTube which is pretty good. We do live workouts with chat three times a week.

I'm very much on edge today. We're going to Dublin tomorrow to get the Pet scan results, this was arranged Friday evening. I had to cancel my pain injection appt which was planned for tomorrow. The receptionist got really shirty with me. I had to grit my teeth not to snap back at her. Can't get on the wrong side of she who controls the list *grrrr*

message 2425: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Sorry you had to cancel the pain injection Margo. Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for an appointment. Will be thinking of you on your trip up to Dublin.

The online wheelchair exercise group sounds good.

message 2426: by Saar The Book owl (new)

Saar The Book owl | 2650 comments We had a bit of a storm also and lots of rain yesterday and today.
Maybe you can start walking, running or something, Sarah? So you can sleep a bit better. It's frustrating that the pools, fitness centra,...are closed. Our karaté - training is cancelled too. As an alternatieve we can do karaté with our group with online sessions with the laptop. I don't have enough space at home to do that. We've gotten an email that our Japanese class is also online starting today. I'm going to miss the social contact with the group.

Esther (nyctale) | 5194 comments I have been attending a few dance workshops online. Not as fun as the live ones but it is better than nothing. Here I was in my basement, twirling, my hands in the air ... and I looked up through the window and saw my neighbor waving back. oops. I really need to put some shades in there.

Sandra (sanlema) | 11266 comments Margo, I hope you can reschedule your pain injection soon, Margo.

Esther, that is hilarious. :D

message 2433: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11266 comments I can't believe it myself, but I just bought socks.... of the Golden Girls show... If you were wondering about my state of mind. It is soooo out of character that my oldest daughter can't believe it. Se is incredibly surprised. Lol
I loved the show in the 80s. LOVED IT. But buying socks of a show I love is totally not myself.
Well... life is short. Let's blame the pandemic.

message 2434: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19173 comments lol, Sandra! That is great! I think it's fun to buy little things like that and it makes you happy, so go for it.

message 2435: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Lol, go for it Sandra! If this was the worst the pandemic did to people, the world would be a much better place ;-)

message 2436: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59930 comments LOL! Enjoy your socks, Sandra. :)

message 2437: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11638 comments Haha I loved the show aswell - not sure I could have resisted either Sandra. I bought all the Bay City Roller gear. Socks, hat, jacket, the works. But I was ten at the time 🤭😆😂

message 2438: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11266 comments Lol. It was a great show. That's for sure.

Esther (nyctale) | 5194 comments LOL Sandra, everyone deserves a bit of silliness these days. Enjoy!

message 2440: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11266 comments Yep. I have 6 pairs of silliness now.

message 2441: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Oh,Sandra, your sock silliness made my day! I should be in bed, but I was checking out the posts. ❤️

Margo - I’m sorry to hear about your uncle. 😪

After this week, I’m ready for the rain, with a new roof and new covered gutters (which I will be paying off for the next three years). Now, I need to get my new thermostat installed and the new controller board put into my furnace. We are currently heating with two small portable heaters. 🤞

message 2442: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I read an article yesterday that talked about how lockdown has made us more eccentric. The working from home has made us free from judgement of work colleagues and the general public on the way to work. One guy was wearing shorts and a Christmas jumper everyday as they never usually get much use when he worked in the office. Haha. I've seen people go food shopping dressed as batman. My friends and I bought dayglo wear to go power walking in 80s style (not that we've actually done it yet). And to fill our spare time, it said that people had turned to more unconventional hobbies and interests as well as talking to themselves more. Haha. So your socks are excused Sandra!

message 2443: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I love all that Sarah!

message 2444: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one talking to myself.

message 2445: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11266 comments Of course there was a perfectly reasonable explanation. :)

Power walking in 80s style sounds fantastic!

Peggy, you are not the only one. I've heard more than one friend saying they are talking more to themselves.

Esther (nyctale) | 5194 comments Peggy wrote: "Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one talking to myself."

Thanks to my cats, it does not happen to me. But I must be talking to them more as well. I have been working from home for years so it is not new for them. Sahel has a spot on my desk, She knows this is the only spot allowed and used to be ok with that. I have been having issues lately during meetings. My guess is that she does not "get" the headset and figures I am talking to her. (I need to start faking meetings now to get her to behave)

message 2447: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Oh yes, that must be confusing for the cats! I had to laugh about the fake meetings :D

message 2448: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11266 comments That is cute, Esther. :)

message 2449: by Saar The Book owl (new)

Saar The Book owl | 2650 comments My cat is also being confused by my man working at home. He thinks he can get more attention now and he sleeps less during the day.

I hope they can find an appointment for you sooner than that. Maybe there could be a cancellation. Do they keep a reserve waiting list?
