@Janice The last time I visited the doctor on my 3rd appointment for the same thing, I wondered about asking him if I could record it but I didn’t like to do that. It definitely helps to have an extra loved one with you to take notes for you because sometimes there’s follow up info or multi-step solutions or options with forms. That is stressful for me, I don’t know about you but forms and ticking boxes make me dizzy when I am healthy not to mind say feeling unwell and not at peak.

I've been emailed some forms that I have to fill out as well as forms for my gp to fill out. There will be consent forms and all that fun stuff once we discuss risks. I hate those forms too.
I had to chuckle because when I went to the hospital last week. I filled out the forms at diagnostic imaging and the nurse had to input it all into the computer. She had to be more detailed - you're allergic to bees. Beeswax? Bee sting? Bee venom? Bee pollen? You're allergic to some fragrances? What type? Perfume? Scented Candles? Soaps? What specific perfume? She sighed and said, "Well, we're not going to sting you with any bees, or put perfume on you, so there's that......"
Haha you gotta love the honesty!! We won’t be stinging you with bees today or spraying perfumes lol I get allergies too and it’s always question time when I hand in the form too :)
This is actually super important though. I was on the nurses side, until I had my wisdom teeth out. I was talking to the surgeon about allergies, and just said something like "well I'm allergic to shellfish, but it's not like you'll be shoving a prawn in my face, so don't worry." And he was all "It may not seem relevant but you really need to tell us these things. For example, some people allergic to crustaceans (ie me) are really sensitive to iodine. Which isn't a problem until you are having surgery. So details please!!"
So stuff the nurse and her sighs!! Be super detailed woman!!!
Good point Rusallka. I am severely allergic to strawberries. I am sensitive to banana. This can be related to a latex allergy, So i am on Latex precautions. You never know what things can be connected with allergies. Better to ask the questions then find out the hard way.

Janice, hope you will be back to normal soon and that your procedure goes well. We will miss you x
That is a good point, Rusalka. Many vaccines are made with an egg base and can be problematic for people allergic to egg. In defense of the nurse, she wasn't sighing out of irritation. It was more a sigh that she'd finally gotten everything into the database precisely the way it needed to be and then ended with a bit of humour.Margo, I'll be back before you know it. I'll be leaving here later tomorrow afternoon and home around supper time on Wednesday. I hope. I don't know the time frame for August, but I'm taking it one step at a time.
Janice wrote: "...It was more a sigh that she'd finally gotten everything into the database precisely the way it needed to be and then ended with a bit of humour..."Oh then that's okay then. I understand the data entry issues lol
I'm thinking of you Janice! Let us know how it all went. Today is the big day: graduation day for our students! I was in the organisation committee, it's in a football stadium (#1 sport in the Netherlands, of a team that plays in the highest division) divided over 4 sessions with 25 people and their guests, to make sure everyone can keep their distance, the students out on the field, so all very special. There have been graduation ceremonies yesterday and Monday too for other students from our school, and they all said it was such a special day and they would never forget. I also saw some pics and it looked great! Also, I was very excited to finally after 4 months get out of the house for work, see colleagues, have a nice and happy day.
But I have a cough. It started on Monday, and I hoped it would be gone by now. But it isn't. It's not bad at all, normally I wouldn't even consider staying home, but with corona the rule is still to stay home even when you have mild complaints. I'm pretty sure this is just a regular cough, nothing corona-related (which is why I'm posting in this thread ;-)), but still.. It feels like overreacting to stay home, but it also doesn't feel comfortable to be coughing among other people all day long either. I'm bummed out for myself for not being able to go, but most of all I feel very bad towards my colleague who was also in the organisation committee and who'll be there alone all day now. Well, obviously there are other people there all day who also organised, and many teachers will be there for one of the sessions, so she's not literally alone or having to do everything by herself or having to do extra work. But it feels like letting someone down with some crappy excuse.
It's great that the students can have their graduation, sounds really lovely. You've done the right thing staying home Peggy. Can you be tested to be sure?
It's great that there's a graduation ceremony, besides the circumstances. I understand you feel guilty, Peggy, but you did the right thing. If it gets worse, can you get tested?
I can understand the crappy excuse feeling. :( You don't have other option, and your colleague would have done the same. I agree with Sarah that it would be good to be tested if possible.
One more step completed and the final hurdle is scheduled for August 5th. That procedure will involve general anesthetic and one or two nights in hospital. This wasn't how I expected to fill my summer. I'm just grateful that the problem was discovered early. I was to have had an MRI in October, but I asked if I could go on the waitlist for cancellations. They called the next day!
Cancellation wait lists are awesome. I asked ro be pit on one for my op. I had it in January when it should have been this May. Jusst as well as tthat one would not have gone ahead due to covid.
I am not as lucky as you two. I want to have a problem taken care of. Its mildly painful. But my doctor thinks i should stay out of hospitals until this mess is over. I want to just get it over with, Patience is a virtue I don't have
I'm with you Renee .if something is uncomfortable or painful you definitely want it done asap. But I get why the doctor is saying to wait though. Tricky timing .Hopefully this won't go on for too much longer so that you can get the treatment you need.
Renee wrote: "I am not as lucky as you two. I want to have a problem taken care of. Its mildly painful. But my doctor thinks i should stay out of hospitals until this mess is over. I got Rob this for his birthday, it's like lego 2.0: https://ugearsmodels.com/roadster.html it can even drive and you can see all moving parts when it's finished! He's super excited about it. Normally after work he's super tired so after dinner he moves on to the couch. This week, every day after work he can't get his plate off table quickly enough to spend another hour building!
I'm considering buying something similar for myself:

There are other great ones too, like a little coffeeshop, garden, green house.. it's going to be hard to choose! No idea if I'm even capable of this, but I have the next 2 weeks off by myself so plenty of time to try. Also not sure what to do with it when it's ready, lol.
@Peggy - That is so cool. And I love the little library.@Janice - I'm glad things are moving along and that you will be over this hurdle soon.
I ended up buying the little coffee house. It's so cute! https://www.robotimeonline.com/produc...Estimated delivery is tomorrow already! I ordered it from a Dutch website.

It's great that they caught it early Janice. As you say, one step is complete, it is good to have you back to us 😊

That's lovely Peggy but like you, I'm drawn to the bookish one. The little details are fab and the ladder is perfect - does the kitty come with it LOL

I checked out the robotime website and the greenhouse is adorable. A new hobby? hmmm
Those robotime models are so cool! What a great gift, Peggy. There's a few that caught my eye, like the carousel. They all seem to have high ratings.
I want to make them all! Both the wooden ones and the miniature rooms. On the website where I ordered the coffeeshop was 3 out of 5 difficulty, and the library 4 out of 5. Personally I don't see any difference between them, but if there is, I'd better start with the easier one.
I'll post pics in the what are you making thread :)
Peggy wrote: "Also not sure what to do with it when it's ready, lol."Lol this is exactly my thought. I understand the building, but what do you do when it's done?
Great gift, Peggy! I bought the garden shed on a similiar website: https://buildiy.nl/products/tuinhuis
That's the website I used too, Saar :) I was considering the garden shed too. How is yours coming along?I started mine on Sunday, I painted some walls and built my first bit of furniture, but then I discovered one of the wooden planks with pieces was bent. I put several heavy cooking books on it for 16 hours, but it didn't help. So I emailed them and they send me a new one. I have to send the old one back though, which means I have to start over from the beginning.
@Peggy: I still need to buy some glue. Now they are including it in the package, bu at the time they didn't. My holiday will start next week, so I'll try to build it then.Oh no, that's bad, but it's good of them to send you a new piece.
