Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments I haven't use my crockpot in a while. I'll think of something for tomorrow

message 953: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments I browse books every day. Sometimes multiple times. Why will nothing just jump out at me. Such a bummer

message 954: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Same here Travis. Today I decided to pick up a graphic novel and a short stories anthology as I thought I might be able to concentrate on those a little better.

message 955: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59896 comments My friend baked buns yesterday and said there were 4 with my name on them. I will go pick them up this afternoon. I'm trying to think what I can make for supper tonight that would go good with them. A nice thick soup would work. Now I'm drooling, and I just had lunch. LOL!

Sad that we finally have plenty of time to read, but not enough focus. I'm in that same situation.

Jannene | 3124 comments I made crab bisque yesterday so good!! I wish I had those buns.

Jannene | 3124 comments I have this work book club that I started over 2 years ago. We vote on a book and then we meet every two weeks to discuss the book on lunch. I made it a Zoom meeting for this Wednesday. I hope people “attend”. One of the people in the club said he’s tearing through books right now.

We are reading The Last Stone. If you like true crime it is really good and the guy is a piece of work. I keep shaking my head as I’m reading it.

True crime can be fascinating. Interesting pick. What a great idea you had with the Zoom meeting. We cancelled our groups, but I never even thought of that.

My book club was to meet tomorrow night at my house, but I cancelled it. I did a discussion via email and so far, only 1 person has responded with comments.

message 964: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19148 comments That's disappointing, Janice. We pushed our book schedule back. We will be discussing the book we just read a month later (or whenever we get together).

message 965: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments We did the same, Kristie. I was thinking in creating a GR private group for the book club if this last more than a month.

message 966: by Jayme, Moderator (last edited Mar 24, 2020 04:10AM) (new)

Jayme | 4519 comments We canceled our book club meetings for March & April. We have a Facebook page so people have been posting on that. Our next meeting is slated for my house in May. Crossing fingers we can meet!!

Hah! i understand. But the default for me is 8 hours for red meat, 6 hours for chicken, and at least 3-4 hours for potatoes. Good luck!!

message 968: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments My cousin just signed up for Disney+ and you can have up to a certain amount of people using the account. So I now have access to Disney+. Lots of fluff to watch while in lockdown!

We meet every other month and I have cancelled tonight's meeting as well as the one for May. The next face to face meeting will be in July. Hopefully.

Another email came through last night, so hopefully there'll be more participation in the discussion.

message 970: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Some deal with phone carrier we have Disney + free for a year. Too bad our internet sucks

message 971: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments We just started using my brother's Disney+ channel for the Mandarlorian. One episode in and we are done. Just not what we enjoy at all. Will have to explore it a bit more while we are at home and have access.

message 972: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19148 comments That's interesting, Rus. The Mandalorian is why I wanted to check out Disney+. I haven't bought in yet because I feel like we pay for so many different streaming options now. I don't like where our viewing options have taken us as far as paying for everything separately.

message 973: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments We're not Star Wars fans. I grew up with is but don't love it. Lexx only watched the originals when we were in a share house at uni. He is a Star Trek fan though.

I'm happy to be told to go on by people who have watched it, but it was either Star Wars fan service, or action scenes with absolutely no investment with anyone on the screen.

10 mins of Picard though on Prime, I am not a Trekkie at all, but I was hooked. Story development through the roof.

message 974: by uncomfytomato (new)

uncomfytomato | 265 comments Everyone tries to get me to get Netflix, I'm very picky with whatever I watch so I never do, Disney+ on the other hand is a much better option though

message 975: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments We loved mandalorian. But then we''re big star wars fans. The episodes were too short for my liking though. We also like star trek. I really want to watch picard as i've heard a lot of good stuff about it.

message 976: by Annerlee (new)

Annerlee | 2871 comments I have Picard downloaded on my tablet. Must watch it soon. I love everything Star Trek!

message 977: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I watched the first Picard episode at AmyK's apartment with her, but I have not been back to watch any more with her. I am really missing her and the boys!

I love everything Star Trek too!

10 Amazon workers have tested positive, or more. They now say the virus can live for 24 hours on the cardboard package. So be careful of these deliveries folks

message 979: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I picked up a jump rope today and will do a 30 day jump rope challenge. It's been a long time since I last did that! It went well, Rob was surprised as he was sure I would trip at the first jump. It's intense though!

I also might search for my roller skates. Only the streets here don't really have a smooth surface, except for the busier streets but then I'm afraid I'll fall right in front of a car.

Janice (jamasc) | 59896 comments My yoga studio is broadcasting a flow that you can watch and follow along. I wish they'd do a yin class that way. :)

message 981: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I thought about getting a skipping rope. Rob and I started a 30 day workout challenge. It's 15 minutes per day. We're on day 1. It went well. I'm starting to feel aches in my back and abs now though.

message 982: by Peggy (new)

@Janice, mine does live lessons online too. Mostly yin, yay!

message 984: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments It is Betty Crocker. She has a facebook page and i think there are links in there to the challenges. They are free. I think she does different ones. You sign up and she sends you the video each day and you have 24 hours to do it from opening. You also get a pdf download of the workout details for future reference. It came up in my feed back in december but then i had my op and couldn't do it.

message 985: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Thanks! I'll check it out.

Sarah | 18550 comments We just had a zoom party with friends. It was so lovely to see everyones faces.

message 989: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59896 comments I've had over 40 phone calls today from numbers in Croatia. The phone rings once or twice and then disconnects. I phoned my service provider and she said that they are working on shutting this outfit down and thanked me for calling. I was trying to block them and accidentally called one back. It was 5 seconds and cost me $2.50, for which she issued a credit.

She told me how to set my phone to ignore calls from unknown callers. I don't hear the rings, but they still show in my recent list. It's so annoying.

We have Friday afternoon drinks with colleagues from work this afternoon.

I usually meet once a month with a group of friends for "Thirsty Thursday" We did it yesterday over Zoom and had a cocktail and chatted for an hour. We have decided to do it every Thursday until this is over. You have to connect and laugh. Should have bought stock in Zoom.

Thanks for the link. I have been getting out and walking, but need something to target certain "peanut butter cookie" areas.

I did one of her routines once and almost couldn't walk for two days. lol I now know that I need to tone down her routines because my body can't handle them.
