Pat the Book Goblin | 687 comments I really want to read Anathem! I have it on my shelf ready to read this year! I loved the other two books you mentioned.

Alicia A. | 4 comments I've just started this today (I'll definitely have time to finish before the 31st) I thought I had read this years ago but it's not seeming familiar at all so that's a plus. Onwards and Upwards!

Pat the Book Goblin | 687 comments Happy reading Alicia!

I have tried and tried to read the Name of the Rose, just cannot get into it.

Beth Buning | 29 comments Just finished this book. I did like it, eventually :) It reminded me of Mary Doria Russell, who wrote a new introduction for this book. Very hard to believe it is nearly 60 years old!
Not my favorite book, but glad I read it!

Pat the Book Goblin | 687 comments I enjoyed Name of the Rose. I was also in a medieval kick and read Pillars of the Earth the same year. Now THAT is a fantastic book!

Pat the Book Goblin | 687 comments I’m glad you enjoyed Canticle!

Alicia A. | 4 comments I liked this book in the beginning, but honestly, by the end I hated it so much I could barely finish. The last section really rubbed me the wrong way though I wasn't surprised that it ended the way it did.
I've only started reading classic Science Fiction over the past couple of years and I've enjoyed much of it, especially Childhood's End and Stars my Destination. This one just wasn't for me.
