I'm having a bit of trouble getting into the story, last month's reading is pushing a bit of a slump on me. So far it's okay, I mean it's the beginning so I can't tell much but the goat in chapter 3 😂😂😂 that was amazing. And I want to know more about the bone houses.
What are your thoughts so far?
What are your thoughts so far?

So far I'm finding the story to be very interesting! I'd like to learn more about the bone houses and see how Ryn and Ellis trip to the mountains will go seeing as it contains more dangers than the forests.
I also wonder if her siblings will play an important role in the upcoming adventure.

Things are getting intense with how much danger the village will soon be under! Already the bone houses are starting to attack and it's too bad they'll lose their iron protection.
As of now, I really don't like that Eynon guy! He's really being unfair with the whole debt problem and doesn't really care about the village.
I just finished reading chapter 10, since yesterday I haven't done any reading.
Yeah, I really liked the whole story about the Otherking and all that. So are those otherfolk fae or? I'm pretty sure they are. And the story about the cauldron is so familiar to me I remember reading something with it, just I can't remember exactly where... maybe in the mythology book I read in 2018... I think it's maybe Celtic..
As for the story, I'm still not sure how I feel about it and my mood could be the reason I'm reading and not feeling anything.. Things are going to be interesting now without the iron gate and Ryn, maybe, going with Ellis... who'll protect them? Yes, Eynon -.-. I've been reading his name wrong xD I know it's not Eeyore but it looks close enough.

And I think they make be fae also!
So I just looked it up and I was close, it's not a Celtic myth but Welsh and omg I thought the things that followed the other king: afanc, pwca and tylwyh teg were things the author made up but they are real! I mean real as they are form the Welsh/Irish mythology. That makes me interested in the book much more :D
Yeah, me too. Maybe I'll look it up but first I want to finish today's chapters. I'm currently on chapter 12 and things are happening :D although not as much as I want to but there's still time
The goat 😭😭😭 she was the only character I really liked. BUT now at chapter 14 Ellis sounds so much interesting than before.
“The goat is dead,” he said.
“That has been well established,” said Aderyn.
“The goat is dead and you’re both petting it.”
“What else are we supposed to do?” she said helplessly.
“Kill it!”
“It’s already dead!” Her gaze fell to the creature. “And it’s—not attacking.
It’s… she’s acting like she always does.”
😂😂😂 this scene. I honestly don't know what it says about me or the book when all my reactions are connected to the goat 😂

hi excuse me, I was just passing by on my feed and I saw this comment and it made me laugh so I'm gonna read this for the goat lmao
@Selina 😂 😂 😂 the goat is like the only thing I care about in this book.. although by this point (half-way) things are starting to be more interesting.
I don't remember reading the synopsis.. I mean I probably did at the time when I added it to my tbr, but not before starting it now.. It has kinda... zombies? and it has Welsh mythology which if I had known from the beginning would've made me like it better from the start.

I'm super curious about this goat!! I'm hoping to start this one by the end of the weekend!

Just finished chapter 15 and wow a lot of things are starting to happen. I feel like there's something off about that community they stumbled upon in the forest, I'm curious to see what happens next!
And I'm glad to see a little more about Ellis's backstory! I was curious to know why he didn't share his family name

I knew there was something off about that community but I wasn't expecting them to actually be living with and taking care of their bone house relatives. It was kind of creepy. And for some reason it reminded me of the dead people in that Coco movie.
I have to say I love the goat even more now! Very loyal by protecting Ryn and Ellis from other bone houses!
The biggest shock for me was what happened to their uncle and how they've been keeping the fact he was dead a secret.
I really want to know what's wrong with Ellis and why he's always in pain. Hopefully it'll be explained soon!
Yes! it is so much interesting now and I want to know more.
I also didn't expect the living taking care of the dead and living together like everything is fine. And all that makes me question why some are tame while others attack?
This is the second time the goat is protecting them from bone houses. As for the uncle, I don't know, I wasn't that shocked; for me it was oh, that makes sense that they burred him and kept quiet.
I'm intrigued by Ellis' pain, it probably has to do something with who he is.. Well, we'll find out what's going on with that by the end of the book.

I think I may actually finish the book today since theres about 7 chapters left. Looking forward to reading the end!
chapter 22 I was enjoying the no romance that was happening... well up till now because he wants to kiss her now.
chapter 24 I assumed it was her father because of the hair touching, I think that's something he did... or was it her mother?
Currently I'm at chapter 26. I don't know if I'll push and finish it today, but if nothing else definitely tomorrow.

chapter 27 them kissing now :D that is okay with me...for some reason.
Or, perhaps it went something like this: A goat ended the curse. It got tired of its humans being distracted by hordes of dead soldiers, so it went into the mountains and ate the cauldron. Yes, that's how the curse was ended 😂
So I finished it. I like it. It felt like something was missing, like you said with their travel being too easy I get the feeling for the whole book. I like how there wasn't a big accent on love, because that would've ruined it for me..
This buddy read felt so relaxing, thank you. Although after the winter wars everything feels relaxing 😂 What are your thoughts on the book?

I enjoyed the story overall! That paragraph when they mentioned the different ways the curse ended was funny :D
I admit I suspected Ellis's role with the bone houses at one point but I was still surprised when that came true!
I haven't thought that Ellis was connected with the bone houses, at one point I thought he might be the son that was mentioned but it didn't make sense because that happened a looooong time ago... at least I thought it happened a long time ago.
Yeah we ended finishing it earlier.. or as we originally planed it :D but I'm glad we planed some days plus, because I would've felt pressured to finish it in time xD
