Jasmina wrote: "Hi guys I'm Jasmina from Belgium (Europe).
I mostly read non fiction books on Feminisme, imperialisme and polictics. I also love to read about reglion. However for 2020 I want to make it my goal..." Hi Jasmina, I'm Tayo from America I'm new to this group also, I recently began reading feminisms books, my first was Dear Ijeawele, or a Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions its a goodread, please feel free to send any suggestive reads to me please and thank you.
Greeting Goodread Fellows, I am Tayo from the United States, in Michigan now, yet a Californian. I'm partially new to goodreads and I am excited to join this group. I enjoy reading varies genres like mystery, true crime, psychological thrillers, YA, and more. Both fiction and non-fiction are my go to. However, I never read any romance books and I may try to read one or two this year. If anyone has any suggestions of a decent romance book I welcome any feedback. My goal is to make friends, discuss goodreads and experience new reads through suggestions from all and any from this awesome group. My reading goal this year is 102 books which equals about two books a week. I will be reading from all types of genres, including my first romance read ever. Great to meet you all and please feel free to request me as a friend.
Welcome everyone happy to have you all join us. The New Year is in full swing I am glad all of you have decided to read and reach goals with our group! There is so much to do here and so many friends to make I hope you all have a blast!
Hello all, I am new to this group, I have used Goodreads for years but I have never been able to really do groups very well, I am not antisocial just anxiously shy. Uh so I guess I can start with answering some questions, I am not really sure how the groups work, am I supposed to be reading the books shown as currently reading for the group?
- Where are you from? UK (sadly, miss those giveaways)
- What kinds of books do you like to read? I have a wide variety of genres to read, I mostly read between Horror and Sci-Fi or hop over to Crime, sometimes you will see me with a classic.
- How did you find our group? ...clicked groups...
- What's your reading goal? 50 Books this year, I have currently two challenges, one for general reading challenge of 50 as said but another for a horror group of 26.

Hi everyone, my name is Ximena and I´m from Peru. I considered myself a pretty good reader, then I lost the rhythm 2 years ago and I would like to retrieve it. Another point to mention is that I have never been part of a lecture virtual group so I think it can be amazing.
Hi guys, My name is Julia and I'm from Colorado. I love to read almost anything, but my favorite type of book would have to be thriller adventure mystery. This year, I would love to read more, and want to read fifty books. I found this group on accident. I'm also new to Goodreads and am excited to see how this goes.

Hi Blagica!
Thanks for the welcome!
Hello!I'm Kjetil, from Norway. I try to read a bit of everything, though I usually end up reading fantasy, fairy tales, and the odd classic! Last year, I didn't quite reach my goal, so I'm hoping this group will help me find a little extra motivation for this year. My initial goal is 45 books :)
I hope we'll all have fun, and I can't wait to follow everyone's progress! Feel free to add me as a friend :D

Hello! I'm Rachel and I'm from Connecticut but currently live in Providence, RI. If you ask anyone in my family, I am typically the last person to pick up a book for fun. I never used to see reading as a hobby but I want to read more in 2020 and beyond. I think joining Goodreads is exactly what I need because tracking my progress keeps me going and I like feeling that sense of accomplishment! I used to think you had to like all genres of books in order to be a 'reader', but clearly that's not true. I like fiction, mystery/suspense, and memoirs. I enjoy connecting with people by way of shared hobbies which is why I sought out this group! My reading goal this year is 12 books in 2020, 1 for each month. But, I'm hoping to beat that goal. Here we go!

Hey guys! I am Dhiya from India. I love reading anything but horror. I am currently focussing on getting back into my reading habit which has been considerably struggling under academic pressure. I aim to read around 50 books apart from the ones assigned in Uni.
Hi, I am from Nova Scotia, Canada. I found Goodreads a few years ago, and used it to log what books I had and read to that time. I begin giving myself a reading challenge the last few years, as I had gotten away from it, as there was always something, or someone that pulled me away. After losing my dad 3 years ago, I decided to restart my challenges again.I used to stick to fictional romance, but now I find legal thrillers are my favourite, although I can read pretty much anything. Although I will admit I have my favourite authors, but each year I add an author or a book I wouldn't normally read. The last two years I've got a friend doing the challenge with me, and we trade 3 books , to broaden our views.
Just by clicking the links I came across this group, thought I would jump in .
I missed my reading goal last year by 5 books, so this year my goal is 50, which includes the 5 I missed last year.

Hi I'm Marlee! I'm from New Brunswick Canada. University kind of killed my love for reading (I used to read over 100 novels a year and loved to read Shakespeare for fun). It became a chore and no longer for fun. 6 years later I'm trying to rekindle my love of reading! I used to work in a library and would keep an eye out for the popular check outs and when they came in checked them out myself. I'll be happy if I read one book a month this year! That's my goal: 12. Hopefully I go even farther than that.
Hello I am a 42 year old avid reader and 2013 college graduate who has many hobbies. I am single and considered disabled but try to stay active within reason. My dad has cancer so he and I reside together for the time being. I also enjoy museums, writing, the idea of traveling, cooking, sewing and many other things. I really do not have a specific preferred category over another when deciding to read a book or not I trust, shall we say vibes (energy) whatever you want to call it. I did set the same goal as last year because I got very close to it so 40. Happy Reading Everyone!
Hi! My name is Nel and I am from Belgium. I like reading thrillers, romance, mystery, historical fiction and chick lit. This is the first group that I'm joining, so let's see how it goes! I only joined goodreads last August but I read about 15-20 books last year I think. My 2020 reading challenge is 25 books but I hope to read more than that.
Hi all, thank you for accepting me as a member. It is a wonderful place to share experiences and thoughts. I don’t usually call the things I love a challenge, but at the same time, this space allows me to be infused by all the enthusiasm of the book lovers. Books truly can enriched our life in so many levels and in so many ways. Let’s keep reading!

Hi I am Fee, have joined the reading challenge a few times on this account and my previous account but have never finished the goal I have set for myself. Used to be a big reader but then work got in the way. This year trying to focus on completing the books I already own and try not to buy any books (and if I do to complete them right away)
Hey, y’all!I’m Alex and I live in Texas.
I found this while looking at a review for Dune by Frank Herbert. I wanted to know how credible the person reviewing was and voila!
My favorite genres are romance, sci-fi, fantasy, and fiction.
My reading goal is 80 books!

Hello everyone! I'm La Mariane, I live in France. I'm hoping to read at least 25 books this year. What kind of books do I like? I read mainly fiction, and sci-fi and fantasy are favourite genres. I also like classics, contemporary novels. Actually, the only genre I consistently dislike is thirller/mystery.
One of my main goal this year is to read the books I have accumulated at home, and never opened : there are more than 125 such books at last count. Several years of reading, right on my shelves. I also like my local library, to read graphic novels or new release I don't want to buy.
Hello, I'm Anecia. I normally exceed my yearly reading challenge but 2019 I failed by HALF! This year I want to beat it again.
Is there anything on your list that's a must read?
Hi everyone! My name is Jood and I’m from Bahrain. This is my second year in books. For 2020 I’d like to read 50 books. I mainly read YA contemporaries or dystopian.

From what is on your TBR list i would suggest :
1. Beartown
2. Slaughterhouse-Five
3. The Great Gatsby
No. 1 is phenomenal and 2 and 3 are nice short reads
Hi , I am Mrimon from India. I'm currently reading Virginia Woolf's To the lighthouse. I love crime thrillers. This year I hope to read more classics and books like 'Purple Hibiscus'.
Hi! I joined this group in March of 2019, but didn't stop to introduce myself at that time. My name is Theresa. I live in southwest Missouri. I really didn't start participating in challenges, etc. right away. I'm glad I finally did. :)
Theresa wrote: "Hi! I joined this group in March of 2019, but didn't stop to introduce myself at that time. My name is Theresa. I live in southwest Missouri. I really didn't start participating in challenges, etc...."Hi Secret Santa Theresa :) So glad you are here.
Hello, My name is Tara. I am not new here but I wanted to pop in and give a welcome to all our new members. You have found an awesome group. Our moderators are always helpful if you have any questions and they create such a wealth of challenges, there is something (probably a few somethings) for everyone. Happy reading!!
Jood wrote: "Hi everyone! My name is Jood and I’m from Bahrain. This is my second year in books. For 2020 I’d like to read 50 books. I mainly read YA contemporaries or dystopian."Welcome Jood! 50 books is a great goal and I'm sure you can achieve it.
Hi Everyone!I’m Monica. I’m new to the group but I’ve had my goodreads app for several years.
I decided that this year, I would take a more active role in my favorite passion. Since I have spent too much time actively participating in all my other passions like movie/ tv show streaming and art.
I am very much on the creative side, and I let go of books; and I was an avid reader for over 30 years.
I love reading fiction as well as non fiction. Short stories, poetry; I absorb all of it. Including school work; which I will be getting back into this year. I am still shooting for that doctorate degree, but I have to crawl before I can fly.
Anyways, I hope to share fun adventures and stories with everyone. 🤓😊
Hey, I'm Vandana. Though I am originally from India, I often travel between India and UAE.I prefer reading fiction to non-fiction. The broad category is because I read almost all genres; my favorite are romantic suspense, rom-com, mystery & thriller, and classics.
I joined the group mostly because I love to discuss books, and get opinions & suggestions from others. Also, I'm trying to be more socially active, and books seemed the way to go!
My target for 2020 is reading a 100 books (books that I've not read, rereading doesn't count). And also explore genres outside my comfort zone.
I would enjoy making new friends who love to read!
Hey guys I’m Rabani, and I’m from Canada. I love reading and I’m hoping to exceed my goal of 45 books this year. I wish you all the best for your reading goals as well!!

Hi everyone!I'm Bailey and I come from the Midwestern U.S.
I've just gotten back into reading after taking a break from it during college. The books I used to enjoy reading before my break were typically science-fiction, but currently I am reading It by Stephen King and really enjoying the horror genre! My boyfriend has also gotten me really into manga lately.
I found this group while browsing the community page. My small town does not have any book clubs so I am glad to have found this one online!
Since I haven't really read anything in a long time, I am starting with a small reading goal of 10 books, which I hope to adjust if I read more!
Hey Bailey. I'm new here too but don't join many groups cuz I run my own book club on here called the reading for pleasure book club but just joined up to keep track of the GR reading challenge on here. Good luck on your challenge and happy reading!
hi! my name is Grace and i’m 14. My reading goal for this year is 40 books. (i’m a pretty slow reader) My favorite genres are ya and middle grade contemporary and fantasy.

I haven't read much science fiction lately, I used to enjoy Michael Moorcock, perhaps you can suggest a good place to get back into the genre.
