McKenzie so happy to have you! I love how scrolling has brought you here. I have recently gotten into bios and memoirs any suggestions? I hope 50 comes easy to you and you enjoy all your reads.

I'm from Mexico and this is my first time on goodreads, (although I've been reading for a long time) also the first time taking a reading challenge~♡
My favorite things to read are thrillers and horror (´。• ᵕ •。`) so I hope to find some new favorite books in 2020.
Some authors I really like are Thomas Harris and Terry Pratchett.
I also want to read more in Spanish cause I've been neglecting it a bit and maybe some mexican authors~~.
Nice to meet everyone~♡ °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

Welcome Patty! Netflix can be great so I can't really discourage you! The topics on your list seem interesting so I can't wait to hear all about your book adventures this year

welcome Nerime! I hope that you enjoy our time here and hope that reading in Spanish goes well along with your other reading goals. Welcome again and happy reading

I love to read romance, suspense and paranormal but dabble and sample quite a bit of others
I was looking thru new groups to join. I took a hiatus last year and honestly forgot about goodreads with the start of a new year and a friend talking about the challenge I thought it was a good time to get back into it.
My goal for this year is to make more time for me and I'm hoping to be able to read 75 books

Am Karyn originally from India, currently in the Dubai - UAE.
I love reading suspense, thrillers and chick lit stuff. Occasionally I read Biographies, if something interests me.
thanks to good reads I was able to join 2 book groups in the city last year and that has increased my book count.
My goal this year is only 25 books, but I believe I will touch 30 at least, unless Netflix and other stuff, pulls me away.
ready to make more book pals across.

Wishing you the best of luck with your reading goals.
I encourage you to check out and join some of the challenges throughout the year. They're always a blast :)

I decided to push myself back into the game since I have several books I collected over the last few years that have remained unread so I am going to start knocking them out. I haven't been on GoodReads for probably over 2 years but I'm hoping using and tracking my reading on this site will help me reach (maybe go beyond) my 2020 goal of reading 20 books. Looking forward to the group and hopefully finding some recommendations along the way.

Hey Amanda Welcome! I am also from NJ. Congrats on being a new mom. Baby boy or girl? I hope you enjoy your time with us and find a happy balance with everything.

Baby boy! Maximus :) He is a sweet thing, 16 months old now but man he keeps me busy! haha

Welcome Kristina happy to have you! You will find that this group has lots to offer and you will get to 45 easy! I hope you have a blast.

Laura so nice to meet you and have you join us! I was born in Macedonia and have always wanted to travel. I am always interested to see what draws people to fantasy? That is the one genre I can't make friends with. We will have to talk sometime. Welcome and happy reading.

Jane welcome yes this is the perfect place to post you got it right! I think 12 is a great goal and 24 is a great long term but remember that it's about enjoying the reads not getting a number.

Love the name! Good luck with reading and being a Mommy! enjoy both it goes fast!

Welcome Alex enjoy your time on earth with our group!

As I'm super generic and don't have a clue what else to say so...
- Where are you from?
The UK aka England (But I did get born in Hong Kong the same place as Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee YEAH)
- What kinds of books do you like to read?
Usually, read Fantasy/Epic Fantasy. Big fan of big boss Brandon Sanderson.
- How did you find our group?
Google...I swear Google is slowly taking over the world and I don't know if that's a good thing?
- What's your reading goal?
Trying to challenge myself to read 24 books this year and try out other Genres and try out one of your group's Challenges as they seem fun *Insert that thinking face. (Any recommendations to try let me know)*
Other thoughts for anyone as I'm curious as a cat.
Do you count some games as books *insert thinking face*? Some examples may be: Fate Stay games, Life is Strange or Pillers of Eternity?

Thank you! Enjoying the group so far. Looking forward to a fun and productive 2020!

I love reading historical fiction, crime/thriller and romance but will read almost anything I'm given.
My goal is to read 40 books this year and it would be great to branch out in the challenge and try some things I wouldn't normally pick (feel free to give me any suggestions!).

I'm Jillian and I'm from California. Going into the new year, I really wanted to jump back into reading. I always push it off and fall short of meeting my goal for the year but I was given advice to join a book club to help me for 2020.
I literally love to read books of any genre so I can't wait to see everyone's recommendations throughout their personal challenges for the year. I set a goal for a humble 10 books for this year and I'm hoping I can double it up and read 20.
Here's to more reading!

I prefer to read romantic, historical novels. Jane Austen and Julie Garwood are my favourite authors. I also like to read thrillers and nonfiction material.
I found the group in the browse section and my reading goal for this year is 40 books.
Happy new year all around the world!

My name is Mona and I live in southern Ontario. I'm semi-retired, currently working part-time and with a HUGE pile of books to get through. I've recently moved into a very small apartment and will have to cull my books, alas. (Either that, or throw out my furniture and pile up my books in place of each item. :D )
My goal this year is 20 books. I will read almost anything. Suggestions are always welcome!

Welcome back! I am so glad to see that you are back! I think furniture might be important. I also know that reading is awesome tough call. (joking) Good luck with your challenge and books.

I enjoy reading different types of books and am always looking for a good review! 😊

Didn't mean to skip you in the slightest welcome to the group!

Welcome to the group! So happy to have you join us. I usually have one of each kind of books going at once so I am never bored! I think you will find this group has lots to offer.

Welcome that sounds like a great mix can't wait to see how you liked everything you picked!

I found this group while looking for reading challenges, and decided I would join up and see what sort of communities exist. I am still fairly new to Goodreads, but very grateful for it as a resource to track and get suggestions.
I read a lot of fiction, currently splitting a lot of my focus between murder mysteries and Sanderson's Cosmere setting. Most of my reading is done via audiobook, but I want to challenge myself to read more of the physical books on my shelves/piling up this year.

Don't worry, and thanks for the Welcome :)

I joined goodreads years ago but was never consistent with using it. Last year my goal was 50 books and I met it, so this year I'm trying for 60! I'm going to try to use goodreads more often and found this group.
I would love to have some book buddies! I'll read just about anything but I love a good mystery or thriller. History, and historical fiction, and YA books - if they are good! I'm always trying to expand and read more classics and different types of books though!

What is a book you recommend?!

Sorry to hear about your friend. I, too, am busy and understand where you're coming from. It's refreshing to see someone else to have a goal in the 20's. My goal is 20, because I am very busy college student. Hope to hear about your reading journey!

Hey! School got me in a slump too...so I feel ya! What is bookopoly?? Sounds interesting! I am also trying to find some buddies too! Message me anytime :)

Hey, Liz! My name is Chey! I am also shooting for 20! I think it's a great starting goal AND if you beat it, then there's no loss :) It'd be great to connect with you!

I prefer to read non-fiction books and biographies, really anything that I can learn from. I like to absorb as much knowledge as possible -- But I am getting into fiction as of late, since I am improving my discipline and attention span and can appreciate the fantasy aspect more now.
I found this group while scrolling through the most popular group list today, and was surprised I wasn't already in it! Problem solved!
My reading goal this year is fifty, since I think I will be able to do it and not have to rush through anything, just enjoy myself. I do hope I'll be able to go over that amount, though. I'm almost done with my second book of the year already.
Nice to meet y'all!
