Eri | 2 comments Hello everyone,
My name is Erjona (Er-yo-nah) and I am from the US. I currently live in California, ethnically I am Albanian. I like to read many different genres. I just recently started since 2019 to get back into reading like I used to when I was a kid. So, I'd say I'm in that exploratory phase where I'll read anything especially if it's good writing (ofc, according to me ha). Was looking for ways to not feel so lonely in this platform haha, most of my friends are not in goodreads. My reading goal for 2020 is 100 books. It started as 50, then moved to 70 and now it's 100 :D I am mostly on track! Great to be part of this community. :) Wishing you all good luck with your goals.

Hashant | 1 comments Completely into sci-fi books of the old genre.

I'm fortunate to be the age of 50 and can do whatever I want as I have reached my goal of life being financially independent. Most of my time is now with the focus on family, traveling, and books and my hobby maintain my news website hashant.com, thou that's not any about books.
But life is wonderful, I have a wife I love more than any, 3 kids and grand-kids. What more does one need?!
I plan to read slow, take it as it comes and this seems like a great place to find new titles.

message 953: by Victoria (new)

Victoria (traduvicky) Hi there! My name's Vicky and I'm from Chile. I'm really nervous and excited bc this is the first group I've joined in goodreads. I found it searching around; sometimes I have trouble finding the motivation to reach my reading goals, so when I read the description, I was very enthusiastic.

Well, my reading goal is 25 books (it's not much, but I'm with a lot of college classes, two internships and 0 organization, so it's a tremendous challenge for me). And the truth is that I like to read all kinds of books, but I've been trying to read more of contemporary authors and I'm also trying to catch up on Rick Riordan's books. When I read them years ago I got stuck in the House of Hades, so I've got a long way to go.

I look forward to meeting people here! Cheers :)

Kiran Dellimore (kirandelllimore) | 1 comments Hi! I am Kiran from Utrecht in the Netherlands (where it's not raining now!). I'm an avid reader and author of nonfiction. Of late, I have started to dabble in fiction, mostly of the historical kind. I read for fun and because I want to become a better writer. Looking forward to share ideas and meet some new reading buddies =).

message 956: by Janelle (new)

Janelle (janellerad) Hi everyone! I'm Janelle, and I'm a 20 year old college student. I enjoy reading about a variety of topics (if you take a look at my Goodreads page you can see my book subjects are all over the place), since I feel like you can learn something from any and every book.

My reading goal for this year is 50 books, but I just started my goal at the end of May, so I am only 17 books in so far!

message 958: by Izzy (new)

Izzy Sargent (izzysargent) | 23 comments Hello All! I'm Izzy, a virtual assistant living in West Virginia, USA. I am new to Goodreads and reading for pleasure, really. I have ADHD and let that keep me from reading for too long. Now I want to read EVERYTHING to make up for lost time. My goal for the year is 30 books, since I started in mid-July, and don't know how many books I'll read.

I enjoy reading a little bit of everything. I have really enjoyed reading some YA Fantasy recently, to my surprise. I am hesitant about horror, but have a few on my TBR. I have a lot of historical fiction on it as well. And quite a few memoirs. It's just a variety.

I look forward to chatting with you all and rooting for each other's challenges! We got this!

message 959: by Kate (new)

Kate | 182 comments Hello everyone! My name is Kate and I live in Idaho (United States). I like many genres but I would have to say that the books I love most are usually historical fiction, contemporary, or fantasy.
I found this group through scrolling and looking at different groups and thought this one looked like fun. I think it will help keep me on track and get me more into the social side of goodreads and talk about the books I read.
My goal for the year is to read 50 books with and average page length of 265 or more. I have done well to read lots of books the last few years but many have been short novellas that I got free on kindle. I want to read longer books and read books from multiple different genres to expand my reading horizons.

Welcome Grace! Your intro piqued my curiosity. Why 1888? That is very specific. :)

message 967: by Grace Anatomy (new)

Grace Anatomy Thanks for the rec. 🤗 I'll definitely read Cassandra Clare
Well in October of 1888 Was the time Of Jack the Ripper, and I have this creepy feeling that I knew him/her so yeah most of all is because of that, and also so that I could warn the canonical five (JTR victims) before they were murdered.

PS:yeah I know its kinda creepy and strange, but that is my reason. 😅

Timo Schlatter (_timo) | 17 comments Hello there! My name is Timo and I‘m from Switzerland. I like to read for pleasure (fiction, thrillers) and for knowledge (non-fiction). Right now I‘m interested in books about self-improvement.
I haven‘t read too many books to be honest because I‘m just starting out reading since this year (want to replace watching too much tv with reading books). It‘s going good so far.
My reading goal for 2020 was 10 books which I already surpassed (wasn‘t a too hard challenge I guess). So now I just keep going :)
I found this group under popular groups section of goodreads.
Cheers

I found this group because I was aimlessly was just exploring Goodreads and thought it would be fun to join a group. As for a reading goal, I don't have any as of now. Maybe my goal is to finish the list of books I want to read because it's piling up real high :)

message 978: by Ariel (new)

Ariel Kuo (kyuncheng) | 1 comments Hello. I am Yun-Cheng Kuo, but you can just call me Ariel! I'm from Taiwan, a small island, and I'm living in Hungary.
As long as the book is interesting, I wouldn't mind reading different genres.
I've been reading more of comic books lately, since I barely even have enough time to study for my upcoming exams as a high-school student. I've used GoodReads just to check the book reviews or recommendations so that I can note down which books are worth reading or buying.
My reading goal is 100 books a year!! And I tend to continue breaking my goals ever year.

I love most genre's but my resting place is dark/horror fiction and fantasy and dark/horror erotica. I'm so excited to be part of a group of other book lovers!

message 981: by Vandana (new)

Vandana Sinha (runnu) Hi all. I am Vandana from India. Like many of you I used Goodreads as a personal ligand was hesitant to use it beyond that. The empty nest took back to reading which used to be a passion once upon a time. It has been very exciting discovering authors, reviews recommendations and getting to know other bookworms.
Would love to be part of a group read/ twin read.
Where reading is concerned I have read a lot of classics and would like to explore the literary world beyond classics. I do enjoy all genres except perhaps the mills and boon romance type.
So much about me. Do add me as friend too if we share similar tastes

message 992: by Brooke (new)

message 993: by Trinity (new)

Trinity | 1 comments Hi! My name is Trinity. Book blogger (maybe soon, vlogger) from the US. I love reading. If it's good, I keep reading. I do favor fantasy lately but I have my phases. I'm doing the challenge to get me away from reading only specific genres and authors. Though, there are still a few series I am trying to finish. I have had a few bad reading years and had set my reading goal to 40 books this year but I have found my stride and it looks like I am about to blow that goal out of the water. 🤣🤣

message 994: by Eléonore (new)

Eléonore | 6 comments Hi, I am Eléonore and I am from Luxembourg. I enjoy reading YA, mystery, thrillers, crime stories, fantasy, science-fiction and romance. I used to read a lot as a child/teenager but stopped reading when I started watching TV-series. However I wanna start reading again, so my goal is to read atleast 1 book a month from now on.

message 995: by Garrett (new)

Garrett Tharpe | 11 comments Hey everyone! I’m Garrett, from the US. I loved to read as a kid, but sorta stopped as I got older in favor of entertainment that took less “effort.” Lately, I’ve gotten a little tired of tv and movies though, and a new friend who’s an avid reader got me reading again. Prior to that, the only books I’d read in years were American Gods and The Poisonwood Bible, both amazing, and they certainly reminded me of the magic of books that I’d forgotten. I like all kinds of stuff, nonfiction to thrillers and mysteries to fantasy to literature and classics, but my favorite genre is probably magical realism. I love stories that are emotionally and thematically grounded with a twist of the supernatural. I also like to write, and I have MAJOR book fomo right now; there are like 20 books I want to read like right now haha. Anyway, I’m excited to find a group and join you all on this adventure!

message 996: by Julian (new)

Julian (ollibeu) Hi :> I'll make this quick

I'm from the US

I would l♥ve to do a blog, but I'm afraid I'm too inexperienced, so I've just been posting reviews on Goodreads lately

I frickin' LOVE fantasy and space operas, like muah chefs kiss

I actually joined this group a bit of time ago but haven't gotten around to writing this so here I am

My goal is 30 books this year

Fun Fact: I've never spelled beautiful correct in my life without spell check :.) disappointment

message 1000: by Olivia (new)

Olivia Chapé (oliviachape) Hi, I'm Liv!
I'm originally from London, but I've been living in Bangkok for the past few years and call this home.

Chic-lit has always held a special place in my heart! This year I have opened myself up to new genres, such as mystery/thriller and YA.

Since becoming an Audible member, I have been able to read a lot more books than ever before! It's also been a blessing to have more time for this, as last year I really struggled to give myself some me-time! I remember not even taking 5 mins to open up a funny video on my phone that a friend sent over LINE, as I was always too busy with work.
