Introduce Yourself to the Group - 2020

I'm fortunate to be the age of 50 and can do whatever I want as I have reached my goal of life being financially independent. Most of my time is now with the focus on family, traveling, and books and my hobby maintain my news website hashant.com, thou that's not any about books.
But life is wonderful, I have a wife I love more than any, 3 kids and grand-kids. What more does one need?!
I plan to read slow, take it as it comes and this seems like a great place to find new titles.

Well, my reading goal is 25 books (it's not much, but I'm with a lot of college classes, two internships and 0 organization, so it's a tremendous challenge for me). And the truth is that I like to read all kinds of books, but I've been trying to read more of contemporary authors and I'm also trying to catch up on Rick Riordan's books. When I read them years ago I got stuck in the House of Hades, so I've got a long way to go.
I look forward to meeting people here! Cheers :)

My reading goal for this year is 50 books, but I just started my goal at the end of May, so I am only 17 books in so far!

I enjoy reading a little bit of everything. I have really enjoyed reading some YA Fantasy recently, to my surprise. I am hesitant about horror, but have a few on my TBR. I have a lot of historical fiction on it as well. And quite a few memoirs. It's just a variety.
I look forward to chatting with you all and rooting for each other's challenges! We got this!

I found this group through scrolling and looking at different groups and thought this one looked like fun. I think it will help keep me on track and get me more into the social side of goodreads and talk about the books I read.
My goal for the year is to read 50 books with and average page length of 265 or more. I have done well to read lots of books the last few years but many have been short novellas that I got free on kindle. I want to read longer books and read books from multiple different genres to expand my reading horizons.

I love anything to do with music! I sing, I play piano, and I play guitar. I love listening to music as well.
My goal for this year is 50 books and I’ve read 31 so I’m proud of that. I’m excited to be in this group with everyone!

@Izzy I think it is great that you are ready to dive into everything I can't wait to see what books complete your goal of 30. Welcome to the group.

Welcome Grace! Your intro piqued my curiosity. Why 1888? That is very specific. :)
Btw- I think you'd love Cassandra Clare.

Well in October of 1888 Was the time Of Jack the Ripper, and I have this creepy feeling that I knew him/her so yeah most of all is because of that, and also so that I could warn the canonical five (JTR victims) before they were murdered.
PS:yeah I know its kinda creepy and strange, but that is my reason. 😅

I haven‘t read too many books to be honest because I‘m just starting out reading since this year (want to replace watching too much tv with reading books). It‘s going good so far.
My reading goal for 2020 was 10 books which I already surpassed (wasn‘t a too hard challenge I guess). So now I just keep going :)
I found this group under popular groups section of goodreads.
Cheers

I LOVE your username. :D And that is oddly specific, lol.

I found this group because I was aimlessly was just exploring Goodreads and thought it would be fun to join a group. As for a reading goal, I don't have any as of now. Maybe my goal is to finish the list of books I want to read because it's piling up real high :)
I'm genuinely excited to join.

As long as the book is interesting, I wouldn't mind reading different genres.
I've been reading more of comic books lately, since I barely even have enough time to study for my upcoming exams as a high-school student. I've used GoodReads just to check the book reviews or recommendations so that I can note down which books are worth reading or buying.
My reading goal is 100 books a year!! And I tend to continue breaking my goals ever year.

Would love to be part of a group read/ twin read.
Where reading is concerned I have read a lot of classics and would like to explore the literary world beyond classics. I do enjoy all genres except perhaps the mills and boon romance type.
So much about me. Do add me as friend too if we share similar tastes

12 books per year

I'm originally from London, but I've been living in Bangkok for the past few years and call this home.
Chic-lit has always held a special place in my heart! This year I have opened myself up to new genres, such as mystery/thriller and YA.
Since becoming an Audible member, I have been able to read a lot more books than ever before! It's also been a blessing to have more time for this, as last year I really struggled to give myself some me-time! I remember not even taking 5 mins to open up a funny video on my phone that a friend sent over LINE, as I was always too busy with work.

My name is Erjona (Er-yo-nah) and I am from the US. I currently live in California, ethnically I am Albanian. I like to read many different genres. I just recently started since 2019 to get back into reading like I used to when I was a kid. So, I'd say I'm in that exploratory phase where I'll read anything especially if it's good writing (ofc, according to me ha). Was looking for ways to not feel so lonely in this platform haha, most of my friends are not in goodreads. My reading goal for 2020 is 100 books. It started as 50, then moved to 70 and now it's 100 :D I am mostly on track! Great to be part of this community. :) Wishing you all good luck with your goals.
