Introduce Yourself to the Group - 2020
Hi! I am Kiran from Utrecht in the Netherlands (where it's not raining now!). I'm an avid reader and author of nonfiction. Of late, I have started to dabble in fiction, mostly of the historical kind. I read for fun and because I want to become a better writer. Looking forward to share ideas and meet some new reading buddies =).
Hi everyone! I'm Janelle, and I'm a 20 year old college student. I enjoy reading about a variety of topics (if you take a look at my Goodreads page you can see my book subjects are all over the place), since I feel like you can learn something from any and every book.My reading goal for this year is 50 books, but I just started my goal at the end of May, so I am only 17 books in so far!

Hello All! I'm Izzy, a virtual assistant living in West Virginia, USA. I am new to Goodreads and reading for pleasure, really. I have ADHD and let that keep me from reading for too long. Now I want to read EVERYTHING to make up for lost time. My goal for the year is 30 books, since I started in mid-July, and don't know how many books I'll read. I enjoy reading a little bit of everything. I have really enjoyed reading some YA Fantasy recently, to my surprise. I am hesitant about horror, but have a few on my TBR. I have a lot of historical fiction on it as well. And quite a few memoirs. It's just a variety.

Hello everyone! My name is Kate and I live in Idaho (United States). I like many genres but I would have to say that the books I love most are usually historical fiction, contemporary, or fantasy.I found this group through scrolling and looking at different groups and thought this one looked like fun. I think it will help keep me on track and get me more into the social side of goodreads and talk about the books I read.
My goal for the year is to read 50 books with and average page length of 265 or more. I have done well to read lots of books the last few years but many have been short novellas that I got free on kindle. I want to read longer books and read books from multiple different genres to expand my reading horizons.

Hi there, I’m kangeiko from the UK, I read pretty much everything to be honest - history and biographies, SFF (my favourite is hard sci-fi and space operas), pop science, romance, crime and thrillers and espionage, YA, non-genre / ‘literary fiction’, etc etc. My goal is to read 100 books this year, and I’m trying to increase the number of books I read from POC authors and from non-Western authors. Recs are always welcome!

Thanks for the rec. 🤗 I'll definitely read Cassandra ClareWell in October of 1888 Was the time Of Jack the Ripper, and I have this creepy feeling that I knew him/her so yeah most of all is because of that, and also so that I could warn the canonical five (JTR victims) before they were murdered.
PS:yeah I know its kinda creepy and strange, but that is my reason. 😅

Hello there! My name is Timo and I‘m from Switzerland. I like to read for pleasure (fiction, thrillers) and for knowledge (non-fiction). Right now I‘m interested in books about self-improvement. I haven‘t read too many books to be honest because I‘m just starting out reading since this year (want to replace watching too much tv with reading books). It‘s going good so far.
My reading goal for 2020 was 10 books which I already surpassed (wasn‘t a too hard challenge I guess). So now I just keep going :)

Hi there! My name is Pooja and I am from India. Currently, I am on a reading spree, having finished two books in 1 week. My favorite genres to read are thrillers, historical fiction, and general fiction from around the world. I love to read different stories from other South Asian communities to understand and explore their culture. I am also trying to move towards reading more nonfiction, but mostly which aren't dry. Hey everyone! I’m Garrett, from the US. I loved to read as a kid, but sorta stopped as I got older in favor of entertainment that took less “effort.” Lately, I’ve gotten a little tired of tv and movies though, and a new friend who’s an avid reader got me reading again. Prior to that, the only books I’d read in years were American Gods and The Poisonwood Bible, both amazing, and they certainly reminded me of the magic of books that I’d forgotten. I like all kinds of stuff, nonfiction to thrillers and mysteries to fantasy to literature and classics, but my favorite genre is probably magical realism. I love stories that are emotionally and thematically grounded with a twist of the supernatural. I also like to write, and I have MAJOR book fomo right now; there are like 20 books I want to read like right now haha. Anyway, I’m excited to find a group and join you all on this adventure!

Chic-lit has always held a special place in my heart! This year I have opened myself up to new genres, such as mystery/thriller and YA.
Since becoming an Audible member, I have been able to read a lot more books than ever before! It's also been a blessing to have more time for this, as last year I really struggled to give myself some me-time! I remember not even taking 5 mins to open up a funny video on my phone that a friend sent over LINE, as I was always too busy with work.

Well, my reading goal is 25 books (it's not much, but I'm with a lot of college classes, two internships and 0 organization, so it's a tremendous challenge for me). And the truth is that I like to read all kinds of books, but I've been trying to read more of contemporary authors and I'm also trying to catch up on Rick Riordan's books. When I read them years ago I got stuck in the House of Hades, so I've got a long way to go.
