My name is Adriana and I'm from Brazil.
In the past I used to be an avid reader, especially in my childhood and in my teenage years. Then I majored in English and Italian at university, so I had the opportunity to read a lot in that environment. Later on, I started my professional career and managing my time (and finding time to read for pleasure and not for work) became harder and harder. Now I have a reduced workload because of the pandemic but, because of these stressful times, I've been finding it very hard to focus on my readings. I downloaded a few books, but didn't manage to read them through. That's why I though of joining a book club and decided to browse Goodreads as I've been a not-very-active member here for years. That's how I found your bookclub and when I say the book for was Dr Zhivago, a novel I've always to read, I decided to join.
I don't have a specific goal for this year. I would like to read more books than last year (which shouldn't be very hard). As for the books I enjoy, I think I'm pretty open-minded and I read classics, sci-fi, historical novels, fantasy, etc. In general, I'm open to reading suggestions ;)

I used to read a lot but for some reason I stopped. This year I got back on it and wanted to join a group because I don't have anyone to talk about what I read. I think that sharing the things that you love with someone that has the same passion brings a pleassure maybe as good as doing it in the first place does.
Anyway, I hope this isn't so badly written lol. I try to read a little bit of everything, currently I'm reading a lot of romance but last month read a lot of fantasy. I really just pick whatever I think would put my mind in a different place, and maybe teach me something?

My name is Yasmeen, and I am a college student at Portland State University in Oregon, USA. As I am a student, I value educating myself, and I do that through books. So, nonfiction or fiction based on truth are some of my favorite reads (though I believe that all fiction is based on some sort of truth). I also thoroughly enjoy the complete opposite of the spectrum: fantasy and sci-fi. And mystery.
Really, I enjoy almost anything offered to me.
I found this group through the community option on the Goodreads page because I want to be part of a group that will keep me accountable, and that will share others' reading journeys.
This year, my goal is to read twenty books. Right now, I am a little behind, but I am fully confident that I will reach it.

I've been in Goodreads for a few years now but hadn't joined any groups. I'm trying to be more active in the community in hopes it will help me achieve my reading goals.
I look forward to interacting with you all!

I am pleased to come across this group.
I live in Canada and have done so for the last 9 years or so. I was born and grew up in the UK.
My goal is to read 20 books. A goal of 20 books is I think reasonable for me to start with.
I enjoy reading lots of different genres including poetry, sci fi and fantasy and a good story.

Hi welcome to the group! I hope that you make your goal and find your reading stride again. There are tons of challenges to join that will help you reach your goal.

Hi Ana welcome to the group so happy to have you. Greece is on my bucket list. I think you will find tons of people who like the same books as you and I can't wait to see what you read with us.

Welcome to the group!

So it's almost embarrassing that all these years, I kept away from Goodreads as a part of my personal resolve to cap my digital footprint because it seems to be quite a marvelous, uplifting platform. So finally I'm here thanks to Quarantine and also because I bought a Kindle while trying to avoid having to buy books in this lockdown. And that's why I'm here on Goodreads. Enough with my blabbering, I really look forward to reading with you all!

Welcome to the group so happy to have you join us. I think you will find lots to do here and lots to read. Look around and join what looks fun and let us know if you need any help.

Welcome so happy to have you join us! Buddy Reads is one of our biggest activities here. I hope you enjoy your time exploring what we have to offer. Welcome again and happy reading.

I'm Shreya and I'm from India. I love to read psychological thrillers, detective series, fantasy, classics and romance. I love, love to discover new books and friends and that has resulted me in joining this wonderful and friendly group! You may ask me anything you want~

I’m from the state of Maine, in the Northeastern US. I love how this group’s members are worldwide! I’ve been a Goodreads member for years, but have recently decided to get a bit more involved. I’ve also just joined Anne Bogel’s online book club, The Modern Mrs. Darcy. I was an elementary teacher and reading specialist before my current gig as a stay at home mom. I’m an avid, lifelong reader and appreciate how the Goodreads Annual Challenge pushes me to prioritize reading in my life! Historical fiction is typically my genre of choice, but also enjoy Memoir, Young Adult, Contemporary Fiction and a bit of Mystery. Looking forward to being part of this community. Cheers!

I'm Sara and I'm from Venezuela. I enjoy reading fiction and fantasy books. My reading goal is to read 20 books this year and I already read 15 so far, so that's good news :). I rediscovered Goodreads a few months ago and I hope to make new friends here.

I absolutely love young adult, especially queer ones. I usually gravitate towards contemporary and fantasy novels. Generally, I enjoy books that are very character-driven.
I found this group when I was scrolling through a list of groups on Goodreads.
I started using Goodreads much more often this year. I discovered the reading challenge and I thought it was really interested, so I set it to 25. This month I hit that goal, so I decided to up that goal to 52 and I'm very excited to hit it. I think this group has a lovely approach to that!

Trying to increase my goal to 12books this year (I think I finished 8 books last year). Wish me good luck!
I found this group by browsing through the community tab.

I've just joined this group, and it seems to be very cool.
Professionally, I am a programmer (Java, Python, PHP, C#, C++/C, Java Script). Similarly the basic knowledge of IT.
I love reading mysterious and memoir/biographies, psychologies, science... generally I've a catholic range of interest in reading.
We may have more discussion and fun here...
My reading plan for 2020 is to study 12 books, one book per month. Actually some books may take my time more than one month and some less than one month.

I'm Jenny, and I've loved reading ever since I was little. After having a goal of 100 books last year, I thought I'd relax and do 20 this year. (100 books was a bit much for me. lol) I love fantasy, mystery, and the classics, however I do read other books from time to time.
I found this group while looking at the list of groups to join. I'm excited to be here! :)

welcome to the group and happy reading!

I like to read in my free time. I love mystery/thriller and young adult fiction. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was the very first book I read and since then I could not get enough of J.K. Rowling's works.
I found this group through my Goodreads friend and decided to join because the challenges seem so fun! I already set my reading goal to 9 books this year (because I love to read but English is not my first language so I kind of slow on finishing the book), but anyway I set my goal hoping that I will achieve it by the end of this year. :D

- Sacramento(California)
- I like almost anything fiction(because I'm not a huge fan of historical stuff), I like fantasy, science-fiction, contemporary, paranormal, and romance...
- I was scrolling and saw this group and I was like, "Sure, I'll check it."
- To finish my reading challenge for this year!

I am Ajay. I am an avid reader of Science Fiction.
My journey began with Angels & Demons 8 years ago and recently I finished A Gentleman in Moscow. I am also intrigued by Greek mythology so I also completed Mythos, The song of Achilles. I am planning to read Circe next.

I prefer to read fantasy, suspense, action. But since I joined a book club have open my eyes to other styles.
I was looking at what all this site offers and found the group
I will love to be able to at least read 2 books per month.
Currently still working and a single Mom some days don't even want to read my mail.
Hope to make new friends and learn more about different writers

I love to read anything, I find interesting.
My goal is to read 50 or more books this year.
Found this group while scrolling through reading groups recommendations.

I'm reema and I'm from Tunisia ( a very small country in north Africa) and I found this group by scrolling through the 2020 reading challenges.
My favorite genres vary according to the language they're in. So for example I mostly read nonfiction in arabic, and I stick to classics and philosophical books in french and I really love LGBTQ+ YA romance novels in english . But this year I want to get out of my comfort zone and try different genres in different languages and my goal is to read 100 books this year.
I would also love to get some reading buddies :)

I'm new to Goodreads and would love to make new friends here.
Hope everyone's having a good day. :)

I am a full-time solo traveler whose only constant companion is books (the best companion I might add). I will read anything- true crime, memoirs, historical fiction, thriller, YA, nonfiction, sci-fi. ANYTHING.
My goal for this year is 150 books and am currently at 75. My friends don't read much, so I am excited to be a part of this group - especially for buddy reads!

My goal this year is 80 books but I hope I can beat it by a lot more
I’m a stay at home mom with a husband that works offshore. When he’s working I read a lot more than when he’s at home.
I would love to buddy read with someone if anyone is interested

I have posted reviews for the books I have read so far this year and I am currently reading “Learning to swim” by Sara Henry.
Looking forward to connect with more readers.
