Introduce Yourself to the Group - 2020

I typically read science fiction. And since fantasy. Lots of Star Wars books.
This year, I'm looking to read at least 15 books. I've got two in. So I imagine that won't be a hard goal to reach.

I usually read crime mysteries and psychological thrillers, but my goal is to expand my library and start looking into other genres!

I'm trying to read as much book as possible and maybe to make new friends :)

I'm Gabriela and I'm from Portugal.
I'm currently really into classics, but overall I haven't yet been able to decide what kind of books I prefer! I enjoy most genres.
I'd like to read as many books as I can while also keeping up with college, so I set my goal to 30 books this year.
I hope this group will help me get the most out of goodreads. I think this app should be more than just a book tracker.
And most importantly, I'm hoping to meet people who share my interest for books here <3

I enjoy YA, Romance, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Fictional, Paranormal, Modern Romance and one of my favorite books is Dark Days Club. I have a strange interest for cheesy paranormal romances like Hush Hush and plan to read Twilight sometime in the future.
I found the group when I was exploring good reads and got curious what the groups about the groups. I an in high school and a play so time is swallowed by homework at the moment, but I try to find time to read.
I have been challenging myself to read classics and am reading Oliver Twist at the moment. I have changed myself to read 60 books this year as well.

I am Siva from India. I am an engineer by profession. My goal is to read at least 10 books this year. I mostly read non-fiction books and books with some element of humor/suspense in them.

For now my goal is to finish reading 3 books before the end of February. It’s the shortest month of the year but I’m hopeful it can still be achieved. Fingers crossed!

My name is Tania and Im from Switzerland. I love to read any genres and looking forward to any new suggestions.

My name is Carol. I'm from Melbourne, Australia. I like to read Stephen King, Young Adult, suspense and personal development books. I've just started my 14th book for 2020 - my goal is 40 before the end of the year!

I used to read so much when I was younger and found that as I grew older, with adult responsibilities. I told myself I didn't have the time to read as much. In reality, I think I was giving myself an excuse not to find the time to read and replace that with futile things . So, in order to change that and fall back in love with reading, I've given myself a challenge to read 30 books this year.
Through Google search, I came upon "Goodreads" and by scrolling through the website, I found this group.
I'm excited for my journey! Thank you for having me :)

I'm from Cincinnati, OH. I tend to like contemporary fiction, YA fantasy, memoirs, and mysteries best.

Both my wife and I are voracious readers of "real" books. None of that e-reader-flickering-screen stuff for us.
As a kid, I loved science fiction, but these days I prefer real science and and history and new ideas. I leave the fiction to the politicians. To spare you all from my major faults, loquaciousness and verbosity, I'll sign off now. Thank you all for making me feel welcome

I mostly read Fantasy books but I try to expand my reading tastes. :)
I planned to read at least 48 books this year and this is going well so far.
Cheers !

I'm from New Jersey. I've been struggling to read books over the last couple of years so I am looking for motivation! I enjoy reading social science books (Freakonomics, Methland etc..) and conspiracy/thrillers (Dan Brown). But unfortunately I have not experienced a 12-hour-binge-until-you-finish-it like I did back in high school.
My goal this year is to finish 5 books and finish some that I started back in 2019.

My name’s Candace and I’m from Belize but live in the Cayman Islands. I use to be a very avid reader and the smart phone took over 🙄. On a journey to rediscover my love of reading by increasing the amount of books I read this year to 12 (1 per month).
Candace

My name is Sergio and I'm from Colombia. I literally found this group by coincidence and hope to be an active member of it. Now, to the interesting part.... the genres of books that I like so far are:
1. Fantasy
2. Mistery & Thriller
3. Finance
4. Spirituality
5. Science Fiction
6. Crime
7. Graphic Novels
8. Comics & Manga
My reading goal for 2020 is 60 books - it's the biggest one I've set so far, but I'm confident about it.
Goodbye and much love to everyone :D.

Hello Marika. I have a question for you: when you say that you read fast, is it because of the amount of time that you spend on reading or is it because you actually use a technique for fast reading?
See ya.

YA fantasy and romance
The selection by Kiera Cass this series is amazing especially if you are into princesses and royalty
(Spoiler warning) Trigger warning Prince Maxon mentions being hit with his fathers belt past and present tense but there is no scene where this happens and in one Scene America cleans his back, nothing graphic
Matched by Ally Condie this series has no royalty
both the selection and matched are in the dystopian ? genre but are more light pg 13 nothing graphic is mentioned.

My name is Snehal and I'm from India.
I love to read fiction, historical fiction, thrillers, self-help books, informative books.
I work in digital marketing. My love for reading brought me here. This year I want to read more and more books. I found this group by checking for reading challenges! My reading goal for 2020 is 100 books.

My name is Natalie and I am glad to be a part of the group. I’ve always loved to read, buy after law school more than 20 years ago, I found that I stopped reading for pleasure. Eventually I got back into it and sometimes listen, sometimes read on my Kindle and other times pick up a old fashioned paper book. I am open to most anything that will capture my imagination - historical fiction, YA, thrillers and history. I look forward to see what you all are reading.

I found the group when I was looking for book clubs to join here on Goodreads. I used to be an avid reader up until a few years ago, but life has gotten in the way a bit and now I don't read as much. I am hoping to change that, though, and I so I thought - hey, maybe joining a group with a lot of other book lovers will help!
Lately I've been reading mostly non-fiction and SFF, but I will pick up anything as long as it sparks my interest.
My reading goal is to get to all those books I've been meaning to read, discover new things to love and just rediscover my love of reading!

I'm Susy from Texas, US.
I've been recently interested in dystopian/scifi kind of books, but really any book that I think it's worth my time can be a good candidate to read next.
I am planning to read 20 books this year as a min. but last year I said the same and ended up reading 32.

My name is Baru Rose and I am from Czech Republic. I lived 2 years in USA and 6 months in UK.
My favorite kinds of books are probably YA, romance, a bit of fantasy (vampire academy) or self educated (positive thinking, selflove...)
I found this group on Browse. I have always wanted to be a part of book club/reading group¨
my reading goal is read as much books as I can and get out of my comfort zone and try something new. I have always loved books and it is kinda sad I didnt have a lot of time to read them.
Have a wonderful day

I am very happy to be a part of this group. My reading challenge is 200. I love pretty much a lot of books. Lately I have been reading a lot of fantasy. For book groups more series Paragon Hotel is worth reading! So is red at the bone I really cried. I love suspense thiller, fantasy, G.A mcevett series. Holly black, SJMS, Lisa See and many more.
Andrea From florida do you like Fantasy Dystopia what if?
Hi Ammaarah there is a trilogy by Vic James called Gilded Cage you might like it?

Welcome to the group happy to have you join us and making us part of your reading journey!

I am Anu from India. Looking at my reading list recently shows that I prefer contemporary literature and non-fiction.
I started the 2020 Reading Challenge to get out of a rut!
Any suggestions on what I should read next are more than welcome!

- Science Fiction, Fiction, some classics, also maybe mystery? I haven't read stuff from other genres, but I'm willing to try tho. I also have read some YA books, but they don't interest me as much.
- I just stumbled on this group while I was looking for groups to join.
- I want to read as many books as I can this year. I'm kind of a fast reader if I'm motivated to read, but if I'm not I just don't read at all :( I want to change that
