Margo | 11628 comments Hands:
Each team completes the same hands. Complete hands in order for scoring. (Reading does not need to be in order as long as the books are finished before the end of the toppler to be counted.) For example, you can read hand four before [bookhand three, but you can not get points for hand four until hand three is completed.

Janice (jamasc) | 59889 comments I have an Irish name, Margo. I will have to look at all my possibilities yet.

message 56: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11628 comments There are some great Irish writers. I just read one you might enjoy, Shadowplay. Very dark and moody. It's based Bram Stoker life and set in Jack the Rippers London. Very creepy!!!

Janice (jamasc) | 59889 comments Thanks for the recommendation, Margo. I've added it to my audible wishlist.

I'm currently reading this book, but I'm reading it for the group themed read rather than the challenge.

Margo | 11628 comments Reading or listening Janice? This one has the honour of being the very last (as in final) physical MP3-CD I ever bought before going entirely digital! I remember it took about 3 months to arrive.

message 69: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59889 comments I'm listening to it. Frank Muller is the narrator. I love his narration of Stephen King's books. It's sad that he passed away. I jump at the chance to listen to books that he narrated.

message 70: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11628 comments I'm not actually a fan, which is probably why I preferred the print book but I am sad to hear he died.

Margo | 11628 comments October Challenge

The challenge this month is to take 5 items from your bucket list and pick a book that would fit that item in some way.

My Short Term Goals
1. Swim with dolphins/go on a dolphin watch
2. Walk a mile with just my stick and no other walking aid.
3. See the Giants Causeway (It's always the stuff on our doorstep that gets missed)
4. Become a fluent irish speaker (ongoing)
5. Visit Castle Dracula in dublin ( I'm love to go to Transylvania but keeping it real ;-))

message 72: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59889 comments I've done #1. It was amazing interacting with the dolphins. I have a picture at my desk of me and a dolphin kissing.

There's a Castle Dracula in Dublin? I wish I had known that when we were there. But there is a lot to see and do there as it is. I'm not sure my companions would have wanted to fit it in.

message 73: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11628 comments I need to convince Pete to come with me. He's as seduced by the idea of vampires as me!

My choice for the monthly challenge is The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires.
