Lead detective('s) are not in favor with the brass, and this case may be their last chance to save their careers. Had a high solve rate in the past.
If I remember correctly, someone in politics, (maybe mayor, or governor?) was connected to the murder.
The body was tossed from a higher floor down to the lobby.
The victim was either a reporter, or I think a mistress who was meeting a reporter or law inforcement, and had information that would help authorities take down the criminals.
