I kind of assumed by the way she met Argent at the party and let him take her out outside, that she was experienced. I was surprised when she turned out to be a virgin.

Her lack of experience was surprising given her profession. Actresses in that time period were more often than not considered to be one step above prostitutes and often had a "protector".

Her virginity was more a surprise because of her role as an actress. I agree with Lauren as we’ve learned this in other books/series. It didn’t surprise me that she’d never given birth but no sexual experience at all caught me off guard.

I was somewhat surprised that she was virginal, but it did seem in her early scenes that she was a consummate flirt whom no man ever did gain, that she'd not had a protector.
