I have searched high and low for this book. All I have to go on is what I remember from reading it and what the cover looks like. I have searched the Internet, my local library, but to no avail. So I am reaching out to my other "bookie" friends on here in hopes someone can tell me what book I am thinking of.

Plot: in Salem the on going witch trials have everyone on edge and what happens is a young girl is being tormented by a witch. The story goes on to talk abut her life, the trials, and her friends. I remember once she walked through the woods and was raped by an older man. Come to find out that he had raped her mother and she was his daughter. The man was also the husband of the witch and that is why she tormented the girl (the witch knew the girl was the result of an unfaithful husband )

The cover: from what I can remember it was an old hag that had a ragdoll In her hands and was digging her nails in it

I apologize for not remembering more but I have been looking for this book for several years. I had given it to a friend to read and since then she has moved, we have lost contact, and I haven't seen the book anywhere since. Please help
