I have never made any NY resolutions. Always seemed stupid to me as a kid as the adults didn't follow through. I agree with Yoda - don't try; just do. Talking about it, writing it down, and saying next year doesn't seem to work for most people. I am sure there are people who do follow through; just never knew any.
Writing down a resolutions list, or as I like to call it a God Willing list, is a good way to remember what it is that you would like to do to better yourself during the year.
I love lists. I got the idea to make a list to improve myself from reading Benjamin Franklin's autobiography in high school. That's a great little book. I keep a list of things to do, cross things off and add new ones. Crossing things off is very satisfying. I don't make New Year's resolutions, but this year I'm adding something to my continuing list. It has to do with the way I approach things. I'm going to try to remember that I'm not in control of what happens and relax a little bit, go with the flow more and stop swimming against the current. It's so tiring.
Nope, we just don't have such a tradition :)
