Mini challenges are shorter to help keep your reading fresh and spontaneous, or to give you a quick option if you're short on time.

These challenges will be posted seasonally throughout the year and have a time limit.

How to Join

*Simply state your goal in the challenge thread and comment when you've completed the challenge.

*Books may not be used for more than one mini challenge, but can be cross-posted with maxi challenges.

*We also recommend using the Personal Thread Folder to track all of your challenges in one place.

Questions?

Questions about the Mini Challenges in general can be asked here, and any new challenge ideas are also welcome.

Questions about specific challenges should be asked within the challenge thread.

I have several ideas for mini challenges.
Winter
Frost Bitten- A book with bite ie werewolves, vampires, zombies other creatures that bite
Chilly Days- A book with a wintery cover, or wintery word in the title
Chinese New Year- This one is from previous years, but a book with an Asian setting or characters
Books With Heart- A pink or red cover, heart on the cover or a romance

Nan Christine Borton-Smith (nanchristine) | 4 comments I know I’m going to look like a Luddite but how do I open the Personal Thread Folder? I am new to groups and am still trying to figure out how to navigate them.

Hi Nan! All of the folders are under the "Discussions" link at the top of the group page. The personal thread folder is here: 2020 Personal Threads. You should be able to start a new discussion within that folder. Let us know if you get stuck!

I think we will be getting new challenges in April.
You can also read more than one book for the challenges.

Eileen | 1854 comments What about a Mother's Day challenge? Maybe a book where a mother is the main character or something along those lines?

Hmm...I have no idea what books my mom likes. I'd have to ask my sisters, lol!
