This is for your early reactions and thoughts about Button Man. Assume that others haven't finished yet, so no spoilers, please.

I have a brick-and-mortar book study group that reads a lot of heavy books, so I had been keeping my eyes open for a Jewish mystery or detective novel that was not empty calories. That's when I came across a review of this one that said the author writes well-researched historical mysteries, usually with a Jewish theme. This one, Button Man, is the one Goodreads reviewers seemed to like best. Subject matter: Jews and organized crime in the first half of last century. One of my study group's members checked it out, and she and her husband both liked it. Speaking of 'checking out,' you'll probably find this book in your public library.

Just got my book from Amazon so I'm going to try to catch up this weekend.

Hahtoolah | 84 comments I just checked this out from my library. I had placed a reserve on it, and the copy they reserved for me is large print. I am looking forward to reading this book, and, fortunately, have several hours this afternoon to begin.

I got mine from Amazon mid-2019 and for a good rate, even though published early 2019 I think. This genre must be like cars and depreciate rapidly! ;)

Hahtoolah | 84 comments I am loving this book. I like historical fiction and I am getting distracted doing some fact checking along the way. It's fun to read about actual historical figures in this novel. This is not a period of history that I know much about.
