Question about the connection of the whole Program series

After I read The Program and The Treatment, is it necessary for me to go on and continue reading the series? Or are the rest of the books of the series not related to Sloane and her story?

The remedy and the epidemic are about how the program came to be. And the adjustment and the complication is about the affects of the program after it ended. The only other book with Sloane and James in it is the complication when every one is brought back. If you like the program and want to know how it started or how dose the world keep the program from coming back again. Then definitely check out the books.
