Vivi | 84 comments I just saw that the next book is about Dev Peltier and a Dark-Huntress named Sam, maybe in this book we'll have a look at what is going on with Nick or we'll see more of Aimee and Fang.
Who would you rather read about?
I'd have to go with Aimee and Fang.

message 2: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 126 comments i kinda want to know what happens to nick

message 3: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 84 comments do you remember who was the last sephiroth was, was it jared?
Since Nick is the malachai, maybe him and Jared will fight and that will make everyone who knows them pick sides.

message 4: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 126 comments yeah i think it was jared. i don't know i was thinking nick might still be grumpy. he might want to fight but i don't think jared will. im hoping ash and nick can work something out so they will be friends again.

message 5: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 84 comments I don't think they'll ever be friends or trust each other again.

message 6: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 126 comments yeah you are probably right. maybe simi will try to at least keep the peace

message 7: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 84 comments I just remembered that Sam was introduced in the end of dream warrior to help protect Nick, so im guessing we will be reading about Nick in Dev's book.

message 8: by Cindi (new)

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 534 comments Good memory, Vivi!

message 9: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 126 comments yeah very good. i forgot about that.

message 10: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) I'm really excited about Dev and Samia's book for the simple fact that I actually miss that Dark-Hunters. I read some rumor that with Ash's book, Sherri was going to focus her next set of books around the Were-Hunters. While I love all the characters and beings in her world, the DHs hold a special place in my heart and I'm glad that, at least, we'll get another female DH lead :).

message 11: by Tara (new)

Tara | 142 comments I can't wait for the Dev & Sam book. I like the Dark-Hunters & the Were-Hunters, I care a little less about the Dream Hunters though. I feel like SK can't stray too far from the Dark-Hunters, based on everything that seems to be happening with the Daimons after Stryker's book. Right?

message 12: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 126 comments I love the Dark-hunters
the only weres I care for are of course Vane and his brothers
Dream-hunters I could do with out. Maybe put them in an anthology and give Fury a full story lol.

message 13: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Orlich Ahern (kittymeowxcore) I'm sooo behind in my Dark Hunter books! I was just ready to read Acheron, and got side tracked by the Fever series.

Huh...good point, Tara, I guess that does kind of make sense, what with the new developments and all in One Silent Night. I so hope you're right, because I really would hate to see the Dark-Hunters get put to the back burner :(.

message 15: by Jill (new)

Jill | 3 comments I like the Dream Hunters the least and probably the Dark Hunters the most. I wasn't all that keen on how Bad Moon Rising took us back into time already covered by other books. I kind of got a bit confused a few times as to where it was chronologically with the others because it started with Vane not mated and then he was. I guess I like the stories to be more linear.

I have to agree the order of the books or the information given was annoying to me. I also like my books in order.

I, too, miss the actual Dark-Hunters. I was worried about what would happen to them after the end of Acheron, when Artemis said she would never release another DH.

message 18: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Orlich Ahern (kittymeowxcore) I'm worried about the rift between Acheron and Artemis, too. Even though Acheron hated Artemis, their bond kept everything together. But now with the new developments at the end of Bad Moon Rising, we'll see if a new power comes in and helps things along, or if Ash will have to work it out without Artemis' help.

I really liked Bad Moon Rising because of how it finally summed up what happened with Aimee and Fang. We saw bits and pieces of them throughout the series.

But I agree, when the book started, I had assumed it would take up where the other stories had left off, so I was confused when it started with them so far back. But realizing that Vane wasn't yet mated oriented me with the story line.

But yea, I like stories a bit more linear than that. But like I said, it just of drew the whole Fang thing in for me.

Glad that others feel that way too. Don't get me wrong, of course, I LOVE all her characters. But I think what makes the Dark-Hunters so special is the fact that among them, the Weres, and Dream-Hunters, they are the most relate-able simply almost all of them were human at one point. Somehow, I just love that fact :)

message 20: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) Not that I'm trying to insult anyone, or start a fight, but I kind of get tired of hearing that people were let down or irritated by Bad Moon Rising's time line. (Again, no offense anyone :)...just stating my opinion)...

...For a few reasons. First, to me it seemed like left and right fans were saying they wanted to know everything that happened between Fang and Amiee, so really, in a way, Sherri gave us exactly what we said we wanted. The same can be said for Acheron's book- the time line was different there too, what with the first part of the book being set long before the series' prologue of Fantasy Lover. Not to mention One Silent Night...it's time line was a bit of a "jump back" too, taking place between the epilogue and last chapter of Acheron.

Secondly, I kind of feel like in many cases Sherri almost HAS to occasionally mess with her time lines. Her worlds are SO expansive with almost thousands of characters, with many things happening at once (much like life lol) that it's almost impossible to not alter and jump backwards in order to tell an accurate and understandable story. At least, that's how I see it anyway.

Anywho, sorry for that rant guys *Laughs* I tend to be uber-obsessed with her stories (my entire room from floor to ceiling is decorated with fandomania paraphernalia- obsessed much indeed am I:) )...so sorry if it came of a bit to defensive. Again, not trying to start a fight or anything. Just giving another opinion :).

message 21: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 84 comments don't apologize :)
since you seem to know the time line pretty well, do you know the correct order of the books?

message 22: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) :) LOL Thanks Vivi...yeah, I do. LOL Sad, sad, state of fact...but I do.

Fantasy Lover, Night Pleasures, Night Embrace, Dance With the Devil, Kiss of the Night, Night Play, Seize the Night, Sins of the Night, Unleash the Night, Dark Side of the Moon, Dream Hunter, Upon the Midnight Clear, Devil May Cry, Dream Chaser, Acheron, One Silent Night, Dream Warrior, Bad Moon Rising...and then, of course, No Mercy which I'm pretty sure comes out in August :).

message 23: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 84 comments what about the short stories?

message 24: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) PS: But of course...I forgot a lot of her anthologies. Those are The Beginning, Midnight Pleasures, A Dark-Hunter Christmas, Stroke of Midnight, Second Chances, Love at First Bite, My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding, The Dark-Hunter Companion (if you want to count that), Blood Lite, and Dead After Dark...

I've read all but Blood Lite, so I can recommend those. (Was the one that was published during my move from Utah back home to Kentucky) I'm generally not a fan of compiled short stories, but Sherri is one of the few authors who can write a great story in a limited amount of pages!

message 25: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) LMAO....Great minds think alike apparently.

I also forgot one...the free e-book Fear the Darkness. It's a snipit about Nick...a decent little short story, no doubt. Kind of gives you a pretty good insight of his character. At least, I think so anyway.

message 26: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 84 comments I've never heard of Blood Lite, so thanks for letting me know :D

message 27: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) As far as the time line where those shorts fall, that's a bit tricky. Thankfully enough, they really are written as sort of a detachment from the primary characters in the series that you really don't have to worry about time lines at ALL with these.

message 28: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) No problem :). I actually hadn't heard of it either, which is really weird because I stay on top of her books like mad. No clue how that one got by me...but either way, no doubt it'll be good. I think it's about the Hellchaser Zeke.

message 29: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 84 comments so there's 29 total

message 30: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) Yep. Full novels, anthologies, and roughly 2 or 3 e-books (all but Fear the Darkness I believe are available as add-ins in the full length novels). Either way, the anthologies and e-books will be complied in Sherri's compilation book In Other Words which comes out in July I think. Thankfully that'll have ALL loose ends tied up in one bound book.

message 31: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 84 comments Hopefully, it's kinda confusing sometimes. I've read 20, that means only 9 more to go :D

message 32: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) LOL. Yeah, I understand exactly what you mean. It took me a while to realize the anthologies were even on the market- let alone how many there were-, and while it's not technically necessary to read them as part of the series, they are SO enjoyable.

Have you read any of the anthologies yet? My personal favorites are Stroke of Midnight, Dante and Pandora's story, and Love at First Bite, Velken and Retta's story (I LOVE the fact that Retta is the daughter of Vlad the Impaler...to me, that's just classic!)

message 33: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) OOPS!!! So sorry! I also forgot the novella Dragonswan, Sebastian and Channon's story. My mind if having a serious brain fart, apparently.

message 34: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 84 comments lol never heard that expression before, I've read the Beginning, A Dark-Hunter Christmas, Stroke of Midnight, and Dead after Dark. My fav was Fury's story.

message 35: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) *Laughs* Yeah, I'm kind of spastically creative when it comes to making up phrases. "So mad I could hang myself from a ceiling fan" and "So irritated I could put my head in a blender" are my two most recently favorite creations, lol.

Ahh. Definatly good books, there! Fury's story was really good! I was SOOO frustrated, though... not at the book or Sherri, but when it came out I was living in B.F.E. Utah, and the Wal-Mart there didn't have it in stock for-EVER! I thought I was going to spontaneously combust during the three weeks I waited for it to arrive! Same thing happened when One Silent Night came out.

message 36: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) Needless to say, though, I'm seriously obsessed with this series. While I don't post often on here, or any group for that matter, I'm very much into the series and books. I've met Sherrilyn three times, every year since 2006. She is such an AWESOME person. It's really rare when someone that talented and that gifted is such a humble and sweet person.

message 37: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 84 comments Lol i hate waiting. The first book I read was Dream Chaser, which I bought at a Kroger store. I don't even know why I got it since I didn't like to read. Then I started reading the rest.

message 38: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) God I hate waiting too...it KILLS me.

Awesome! Mine was actually random too...I've always been OBSESSED with reading, mainly romances, but mysteries and nonfictions when the book and mood strike. My freshman year, 2004, I was living in Virgina and went on a late night book-shopping spree at Books A Million. I had picked up a few paranormal romances, just to give them a shot/chance, when the lady behind the counter started talking about Sherrilyn Kenyon and suggested Fantasy Lover and Night Pleasures to me. I really didn't think I'd be itnerested, but wanted to be nice and bought them anyway.

And then...I was HOOKED! LOL. They truly are my crack. I even reread the entire series every January, along with having read her other series as well- historicals and paranormals.

message 39: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 84 comments lol It was fate, well i gotta sleep now, night.

message 40: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) Ironically enough, it always makes me randomly smile whenever I see her books out and about. Even my local Sureway now has about two of her books on the swivel stand! So awesome. I know that's weird, and maybe I'm just a bit insane, and if so that's okay because it's a happy insanity, lol.

message 41: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) Alrighty. Nice talkin' to ya, Vivi.

I think that In Other Worlds will only have three stories, only one of which will be a DH.

I can kind of see where you're coming from Klara, in that The Dream-Hunter jumps back to the 90s, but in a way, I think if it were written any earlier it would've been twice as confusing, especially if it predated Fantasy Lover.

Readers (both fans back then, and new readers), would've read the book and went "Huh..okay it's in the 90s. Sure." But then, after pubbing the next book, Fantasy Lover, which takes place in the early 00s, it would've seemed rather...awkward. Even if Sherri waited until sometime early in the series, after Fantasy Lover, you're still going back to the original issue at hand. At least that's my humble opinion .

Wow. That was a lot of randomness and confusion. LOL- sorry guys :D.

Plus, I think that the simple fact is that she wrote them in that order. Plus, we needed the intro to Kat to understand her importance.

message 48: by Fangirl Musings (new)

Fangirl Musings (fangirlmusings) Good point, Alberta! I forgot about Kat's aspect in the story, of how her role was very important. Although, not to be a butt, however I don't think Dream Hunter was Kat's introduction as a character. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't she originally introduced in Kiss of the Night as one of Cassandra's body guard?

Either way, though, I definitely see your point regardless. The book was essential to her continuing role.

message 49: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 84 comments Yup, we needed to get to know Kat.

message 50: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 6 comments I so hope that in this edition I get my Nick fix!
I always liked Dev's character, so I'm excited to get to know him better.
Would Love Love Love to have some more Fang too!!
