Since Nick is the malachai, maybe him and Jared will fight and that will make everyone who knows them pick sides.

the only weres I care for are of course Vane and his brothers
Dream-hunters I could do with out. Maybe put them in an anthology and give Fury a full story lol.

Huh...good point, Tara, I guess that does kind of make sense, what with the new developments and all in One Silent Night. I so hope you're right, because I really would hate to see the Dark-Hunters get put to the back burner :(.

I have to agree the order of the books or the information given was annoying to me. I also like my books in order.

I, too, miss the actual Dark-Hunters. I was worried about what would happen to them after the end of Acheron, when Artemis said she would never release another DH.

I really liked Bad Moon Rising because of how it finally summed up what happened with Aimee and Fang. We saw bits and pieces of them throughout the series.
But I agree, when the book started, I had assumed it would take up where the other stories had left off, so I was confused when it started with them so far back. But realizing that Vane wasn't yet mated oriented me with the story line.
But yea, I like stories a bit more linear than that. But like I said, it just of drew the whole Fang thing in for me.

Glad that others feel that way too. Don't get me wrong, of course, I LOVE all her characters. But I think what makes the Dark-Hunters so special is the fact that among them, the Weres, and Dream-Hunters, they are the most relate-able simply almost all of them were human at one point. Somehow, I just love that fact :)

...For a few reasons. First, to me it seemed like left and right fans were saying they wanted to know everything that happened between Fang and Amiee, so really, in a way, Sherri gave us exactly what we said we wanted. The same can be said for Acheron's book- the time line was different there too, what with the first part of the book being set long before the series' prologue of Fantasy Lover. Not to mention One Silent Night...it's time line was a bit of a "jump back" too, taking place between the epilogue and last chapter of Acheron.
Secondly, I kind of feel like in many cases Sherri almost HAS to occasionally mess with her time lines. Her worlds are SO expansive with almost thousands of characters, with many things happening at once (much like life lol) that it's almost impossible to not alter and jump backwards in order to tell an accurate and understandable story. At least, that's how I see it anyway.
Anywho, sorry for that rant guys *Laughs* I tend to be uber-obsessed with her stories (my entire room from floor to ceiling is decorated with fandomania paraphernalia- obsessed much indeed am I:) )...so sorry if it came of a bit to defensive. Again, not trying to start a fight or anything. Just giving another opinion :).

since you seem to know the time line pretty well, do you know the correct order of the books?

Fantasy Lover, Night Pleasures, Night Embrace, Dance With the Devil, Kiss of the Night, Night Play, Seize the Night, Sins of the Night, Unleash the Night, Dark Side of the Moon, Dream Hunter, Upon the Midnight Clear, Devil May Cry, Dream Chaser, Acheron, One Silent Night, Dream Warrior, Bad Moon Rising...and then, of course, No Mercy which I'm pretty sure comes out in August :).

I've read all but Blood Lite, so I can recommend those. (Was the one that was published during my move from Utah back home to Kentucky) I'm generally not a fan of compiled short stories, but Sherri is one of the few authors who can write a great story in a limited amount of pages!

I also forgot one...the free e-book Fear the Darkness. It's a snipit about Nick...a decent little short story, no doubt. Kind of gives you a pretty good insight of his character. At least, I think so anyway.

Have you read any of the anthologies yet? My personal favorites are Stroke of Midnight, Dante and Pandora's story, and Love at First Bite, Velken and Retta's story (I LOVE the fact that Retta is the daughter of Vlad the Impaler...to me, that's just classic!)

Ahh. Definatly good books, there! Fury's story was really good! I was SOOO frustrated, though... not at the book or Sherri, but when it came out I was living in B.F.E. Utah, and the Wal-Mart there didn't have it in stock for-EVER! I thought I was going to spontaneously combust during the three weeks I waited for it to arrive! Same thing happened when One Silent Night came out.

Awesome! Mine was actually random too...I've always been OBSESSED with reading, mainly romances, but mysteries and nonfictions when the book and mood strike. My freshman year, 2004, I was living in Virgina and went on a late night book-shopping spree at Books A Million. I had picked up a few paranormal romances, just to give them a shot/chance, when the lady behind the counter started talking about Sherrilyn Kenyon and suggested Fantasy Lover and Night Pleasures to me. I really didn't think I'd be itnerested, but wanted to be nice and bought them anyway.
And then...I was HOOKED! LOL. They truly are my crack. I even reread the entire series every January, along with having read her other series as well- historicals and paranormals.

Is there anyone else who thinks Dream Hunter should be placed earlier in the series? The timeline actually kind of messes with my head ...

I think that In Other Worlds will only have three stories, only one of which will be a DH.

I can kind of see where you're coming from Klara, in that The Dream-Hunter jumps back to the 90s, but in a way, I think if it were written any earlier it would've been twice as confusing, especially if it predated Fantasy Lover.
Readers (both fans back then, and new readers), would've read the book and went "Huh..okay it's in the 90s. Sure." But then, after pubbing the next book, Fantasy Lover, which takes place in the early 00s, it would've seemed rather...awkward. Even if Sherri waited until sometime early in the series, after Fantasy Lover, you're still going back to the original issue at hand. At least that's my humble opinion .
Wow. That was a lot of randomness and confusion. LOL- sorry guys :D.

Oh, thanks AlbertaJenn for setting me striaght. I could've sworn it had more than just three stories, though. Huh...oh well, either way we'll find out soon enough :).

Plus, I think that the simple fact is that she wrote them in that order. Plus, we needed the intro to Kat to understand her importance.

Either way, though, I definitely see your point regardless. The book was essential to her continuing role.
Who would you rather read about?
I'd have to go with Aimee and Fang.
