Jo Elliott | 1838 comments I wish that was a thing that more books did, it's usually a year or more between reading a book and it's sequel and I've read who knows how many books in that time, I'm not going to instantly remember something I read over a year ago!

Exactly! I wish it was in more books too

I just read Wayward, Vol. 1 String Theory by Jim Zub and will happily continue this series when libraries are back up.
Just started Pocket Apocalypse (InCryptid, #4) by Seanan McGuire love being back in this world!

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments The InCryptid series is on my TBR! I love Seanan McGuire!

I was going to say its so different from October Daye but it doesn't look like you've read that one yet either. I love Seanan McGuire also I'll read anything she writes under her name or her pen name Mira Grant. I just have lots of catching up to do!
InCryptid makes me laugh and feel and I love the sciencey parts in this one and the previous and the dance parts in the first 2. Highly recommend.

message 206: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I have Only read her Wayward Children series and the killer mermaid ones under Mira Grant, plus Feed. But I've loved them all and look forward to more!

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
Loved the killer mermaids!
I haven't read Wayward Children yet but I plan to.

I also wish more books would have a recap. It's why I've been rereading so much. I have such a bad memory. Aurora Burning did have one in the front which i appreciated.

I finished 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston last night. One of the best contemporary romance books I think I have ever read. Loved it! Had me smiling like an idiot. Such a good story and the family bonds! Highly recommend!
I will be reading everything this author wrote!

message 212: by Anna (new)

Anna | 36 comments I’m so glad you liked it, Britt! I saw it on Overdrive but wasn’t sure. I’m leery about the recent contemporaries we’ve been getting, but I trust your opinion.

Its super adorable with fantastic family time. Was just what I needed right now.

finished Finale (Caraval, #3) by Stephanie Garber it was alright. A satisfying enough end to the series if not everything I wanted. The first book is still the best. Nothing lived up to the magic of Caraval
Starting Stepsister by Jennifer Donnelly

message 217: by Kayleigh {K-Books}, YA Fantasy Fan (new)

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) | 2302 comments Mod
I have Legendary and Finale to read. I need to finish that series soon. Good to know it's a satisfying end. That's all I ask for now. After my most recent series I finished, as long as the ending isn't like that it'll be good haha.

message 218: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
Caraval is the best of them by far Kay! But yeah satisfying enough just sad that it turned into such a romance style book. But I look forward to seeing what you think!

message 219: by Jo (new)

Jo Elliott | 1838 comments I actually enjoyed Legendary more than Caraval, I liked Tella better as the main character. But I do agree, Finale is the weakest of the three and I wasn't thrilled that it became a largely romance focused book.

message 220: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I just read Caraval this month and moving onto Legendary in June. I've heard this consensus from so many people so I'm going into the rest of the series with lower expectations.

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
Lower expectations is good. And if you are listening to them I'm curious if the same part of Legendary drives you as crazy as it did me.

Its still a neat world and worth reading just not as good as I'd like

Finished Pocket Apocalypse (InCryptid, #4) by Seanan McGuire and while not my favourite of the series I still loved it. Always a pleasure reading about the Price family

I finally finished The Toll (Arc of a Scythe, #3) by Neal Shusterman !!! I'm glad I read it but that took forever. Parts of it were really good. Most of it was slow. The first book is fantastic but the rest never lives up to it. But yay for a series finished

message 225: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
I had started Gideon the Ninth (The Locked Tomb, #1) by Tamsyn Muir before my hold for The Toll came back in but only got a few pages in. While I am sure it will be a fantastic read I'm not in the right mood and only had a few days left on my hold so I will get back to it later.
Instead I am going to start Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, #1) by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

I'm a big hawkeye fan and the writing just didn't work for me. But that's okay it happens sometimes. At least it means one less comic series I need to continue with :P

Sonnie (sonnie2006) I know I'm going way back, but 10 Blind Dates sounds so good! I'm adding it to my TBR list lol. Also did not know Seanan McGuire was Mara Grant! And I've never heard of The Daevabad Trilogy, but apparently I need to. Good luck on your June reading! You're killing it, Britt!

Thanks Sonnie! You totally should read 10 Blind Dates, I think you will love it.
You need to learn of the Daevabad Trilogy. Those first two books were incredible.

Elena I hope so too its another new release! If you ever feel up to trying a comic let me know.
