Sonnie (sonnie2006) Ohh I'm adding it too! Did you ever read The Bronze Horseman? It's set during that time. Anna recommended it to me and I think you would probably enjoy it too! It's another 5 star read for sure.

Finally done Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles, #2) by Marissa Meyer !!! It was just okay for me. Not a book that ever really made me want to pick it up and read it. The last 10% or so was the best of the book though and I will finish the series

message 109: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Cinder and Cress are definitely my faves of the series. Hope book 3 is a better overall experience for you!

Thanks HeatherH! Loving my read of The Alloy of Law (Mistborn, #4) by Brandon Sanderson so darn good!! I'll likely finish it before bed and I don't own the next one.... could be bad.

Mistborn is on my TBR for this year! Skyward is the only Sanderson book I've read and LOVED it so I'm anxious to try more of his work!

Gah!! The original Mistborn Trilogy!!!! So much love for those books. I keep lending mine out to get more friends reading them. I cannot wait for you to start! I want to hear all about it as you read them!
Also since starting Era 2, I really get why people keep rereading the cosmere universe books as new ones come out. There's so much interplay and I love it. I have the first 2 Stormlight Archives ones to read but wanted to finish Mistborn first.

message 113: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I'll definitely keep you posted when I start and as I read!!!

message 114: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments I've also planned to read the Mistborn this year. I've already read several books by Sanderson. And I loved all of them.

Yay for adding more series!! This one is a lot of fun. I will love Ezra forever. He is my fave of the mages. If you like audio the narration is good.

message 132: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments @Brittany I've already bought a book on Kindle :D actually I prefer reading to listening, but sometimes I also buy books on audible.

message 133: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
I prefer physically reading usually too. But I like listening while doing housework or driving.

message 134: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Same, I like listening when I can't read because of being busy with something not to focus-heavy :D

message 135: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
Exactly!! And certain books were better for the narration. Some of those narrators are gems!

Reading a book with a love triangle you don't wont to murder is a real miracle. Lol. Boy do I hate them 😂 But I'm glad you were able to get though it though!

message 142: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
Right?! I am not a love triangle fan. But this one is okay, worth dealing with for the world building and all that. And sometimes they are done right and actually feel real which then they don't bug me but that is super rare.

I don't mind love triangles if they're done right. It's the whole insta-love thing I can't cope with.

message 145: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
Also true! I like my relationships to be real. Which is typically my problem with love triangles, one side feels forced/fake and is just there for drama

Oooh yes. Love triangles AND intalove... no gracias 😬 lol. Love triangles I can deal with if the story is interesting enough, but I don't think I've been on board with a single instalove relationship.

I took a break from A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas to inhale Demon Magic and a Martini (The Guild Codex Spellbound #4) by Annette Marie which came in 3 weeks early from the library. It was FANTASTIC. Loved it so much. I could not love Ezra more.

Sadly the library doesnt have the rest of the series so I will have to buy them. And I should take a break and finish other things.... Maybe.

I've listened to a bunch more of A Court of Mist and Fury, definitely enjoying it more than the first one. Can't help but see the similarities in Mass' heroines right now though. Still have 18 hours to listen to so I'm sure it will improve even more.

Oh yeah she definitely had certain character archetypes- but I don’t mind it!
