Synful (synfulmusings) | 56 comments I have one copy of this book in paperback with ISBN13 9781593079789 with the white cover that came up for this topic post. I just got another version, hardcover with a black cover, which has added content and a different ISBN, 9781506715476. They are distinct and I want to add the hardcover to My Books as a separate entry, but they're treated as the same and I can't add the different hardcover. I assume because of the same title? Is there any way to separate these out so they're treated as two different books? Thanks!

Sandra | 31515 comments No, we treat them as different editions of the same work, slight differences are irrelevant when referring to the database.

You can add different editions to your reading though.

Just click on the new edition as currently reading or read etc, and treat it as a new book. The other edition will remain.

Olivia (livka) | 7926 comments If the additional content is 'an expanded 50-page sketchbook section' it's still the same book, and should be combined.
However, you can add / review different editions of the same book.

Synful (synfulmusings) | 56 comments I just went through both versions and the additional content in the Hardback isn't in the Paperback. Hardback has an additional section called "Encyclopedia Umbrellica."

When I go to the Hardback ISBN it shows it as already on my "to read" (Want to Read) and is the version which is what I want to add as a separate entry/version.

I'll give that a try, thanks.
