My team and I are starting an self-publishing platform, so we would like to ask people in this group, how do you think ebook websites like esentral can be improved and what features would you like to see in an online book reading platform?

Hi Daniel, good efforts.
I used e-Sentral before, and still use it from time to time if I really want to read a book available on that site only. If I have other choices, I will read on other platforms, like Scribd, Google Book, Amazon Kindle online, etc. Here's the why:
1. The system does not seem to be seamless, it is tricky to use.
2. It requires password every time, means it logs out on you (I cannot remember whether they have option for 'Remember Me' or not) - I want my reading experience to be spontaneous, whenever I feel like reading I want to tap on the reading icon and read on the latest page I was previously.
3. The interface can be upgraded
4. It loads slowly, if using laptop or computer. I want a pleasing reading experience using different gadgets because as someone who is heavily alternating between laptop (mainly for work) and smart phone (mainly for socializing online, streaming & reading) on-the-go, while reading in-betweens, I do not want to be hindered by technology.
5. Not enough titles from the niche I love on the platform, yet.
I can only think of 5 issues right now. However, this is based on my experience about a few months back. I am not sure if they have done any upgrade lately.
Thanks.

Dear Najibah, Nice to meet you.
Please do check out byteliber.com.
Alis Padasian has already published two of her books with us and Budak Tomato is publishing his book with us too on 31 August this year!
Do let me know if we are on our way to solving the above 5 issues which you mentioned.
Thanks.
HI, I am a blind reader. I find that the E-central app is not accessible to screenreaders. the library and the reader area is not readable. Plus, I do think that your startup need to envisage an inclusive approach for all your service in future. Currently, the design do exclude dyslexic , blind people and other print disabled. As Malaysia is on the way towards the Accession to Marrakesh Treaty in 2022, I do think it's imperative for your digital service to be accessible to all as a essential player in this country.i am ready to help out in all way for your app to be accessible to everyone.
thanks
