She looked at him," then why did you want to come here?" She asked

"I wanted to hang out with you," he said, blushing "After all, I like you. I will get used to the teasing, I promise." he added, suppressing the urge to rub her side comfortingly. He wasn't sure if she felt the same as he did and he didn't want to creep her out if he touched her.
Gracie nodded a little bit," Ohh I see.. Well as long as you will be alright with all of them." She told him looking at him," just at least try to have fun."
"I will have fun since I am with you," he said, smiling up at her. "You still need to show me what people do at parties." he added.
She smiled at him and nodded,"Alright then whatever you say." She answered. "Oh right this is your first party.. Umm I guess just pay attention I don't really know how to explain what to do at a party. I just go with some things I guess."
"Okay," he said, not sure what to do. Everyone else was dancing or making out with someone so he wondered if they should dance.
Gracie looked around a little as she and Sarah talked for a minute about what their plans were for next weekend. She looked back at Kyle not sure what they could do
Kyle waited as she talked with Sarah. He tried not to think about how about Sarah was. He liked Gracie. He wondered if he should be the one to ask Gracie to dance.
Gracie rolled her eyes slightly," you need to tell him to get lost." She told Sarah. Justin looked over at them," Do I need to go knock someone's butt in the ground?"
Kyle just sat there awkwardly as Gracie talked with her friends. This wasn't going as he had planned. He liked her friends but he wanted to have her to himself for a little while.
Gracie looked over at Kyle," Come on before Justin does something stupid and I have to bail him out of a mess." She muttered as Justin ad Sarah started to talk
"Okay," he said, following Gracie. He smiled as they finally were away from her friends.
Gracie led him out to the small porch in the back," This is better out here."
"Agreed," he said, transferring to the small bench so he could sit next to her.
She smiled slightly and sat down next to him," Sorry about Sarah and Justin.. They are a little weird sometimes."
"It's okay," he said, smiling at her. He was glad they were finally alone but wasn't sure what to do since he hadn't been alone with a girl before.
She looked over at him," why did you not come to a party before now? I mean other than you don't like people."
"I like people," he said "I am just really shy."
She nodded slightly," oh I see."
"It was hard for me just to get the nerve to ask you out," he said. I hope she likes me. he thought to himself.
She raised her eyebrows just a little,"Really? Why? I'm nothing special."
"I like you a lot though," he said "And you are popular."
Gracie shrugged her shoulders," I'm not that popular and when did you start liking me?"
"Really?" She asked," I didn't even see you on move in day."
"I saw you though," he said "I was trying to blend in with everyone else."
She giggled softly," Yes I see that you did.. Why did you want to blend in with everyone else? That's boring."'
"I usually stick out," he said, figuring she could gues why.
"Oh really..... Oh I guess maybe but I don't think it's bad." She said softly
"It isn't bad," he said, smiling at her. He was glad someone finally saw that. He hoped she was starting to like him as much as he liked her.
Gracie smiled at him," See not bad at all... You just have to see it in a different way." She told him," so I have a question, but you might think it's a little rude."
"What is it?" he asked even though he already had a guess as to what it was. He didn't mind sharing the answer either.
"You don't have to answer if you don't want to I don't really mind." She told him," But how exactly did you end up in a wheelchair?"
"I was in a car accident," he said, biting his lip as he remembered the feeling of being in the accident.
"Ohh that's awful." She said softly
Kyle nodded, looking at her, his eyes tearing up He tried not to cry.
Gracie wasnt totally sure how to respond so she just patted the bak of his hand softly
Kyle smiled at her and squeezed her hand softly. He was glad she was there for him.
Gracie smiled at him," but you're alright now." She said softlyb
Kyle nodded, pulling her closer to him. He always got emotional when he thought about the accident.
Gracie looked at him," are you alright?" She asked softly as she let him pull her closer to him
"No," he whispered, looking into her eyes. He never usually broke down the much. He wanted her to comfort him somehow. He bit his lip as he looked at her.
Gracie frowned a bit," Im sorry I shouldn't have asked about it." She said softly gently moving her thumb across the back of his hand
"it's fine," he said, looking up at her "I usually don't get like this."
"Well I still think I should have kept my mouth shut." she said softly
"Whatever you think," he said, wanting to kiss her cheek to reassure her but deciding against it. They were just on their first date.
Grace looked over at him," you still would have wanted me to ask you?" She questioned softly still holding his hand gently
"I expect it actually," he said, squeezing her hand softly as he looked at her, taking a deep breath. His eyes were still red from tears.
"Well you shouldn't have to expect it from everyone." She replied looking at him with a gentle smile
"Why?" he asked her. Even if people didn't care about his disability they still asked about it.
