V Dixon RJsmommy
I want the old Nick not this new Chronicles of Nick guy. As far as "The Guardian" I have reservations.

Dhfan4life I took the Native American mythology as part of SK sharing another belief system with us. I mean we have all liked the Greek side of things. But at times I think that could probably get a bit old for her to write about too at times. Hence she threw Sin in there from the Persian side of things although somewhat similar to Greek too in a way. So she was spicing it up and changing directions a bit I think. I also think someone said in the Minions group she has been sick lately. So not sure how extenstive her health problems might be or if it is just a regular cold. But maybe she felt like writing about something that was close to her heart and mattered a bit more than the other level of paranormal romance she has written before.

sheila I have read up to Lover Avenged, they have been good so far.The first three were the best and the rest are okay.

message 154: by Cindy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cindy This series is NOTHING like True Blood The main people are DARK and brooding, with different abilities. When they find their mate, it's not all flowers and candy. But the kick ass action will make you want more. You can get so caught up in the story, you really will want the next book NOW!!!

Shirley Autumn wrote: "I cannot recommend it more highly!! It's smart, dark and sexy... I still want to be the filling in a Wrath/Zsadist sandwich. ;)"

Add in Rhage...and I agree with you totally!!! LOL

Buffy wrote: "Dhristi wrote: "Lea wrote: "The only problem with reading this series is that J.R.Ward has ruined all other vampire reading by creating a world so realistic, emotional full and brilliant(and yummy)..."

Frankie I agree, the series is absolutely amazing, it is very different from Twilight and the Sookie novels but it’s definitely worth a read. I would also recommend the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon, I’m absolutely hooked.

Aestas Book Blog This series is beyond amazing. The only other series I've ever read that is as awesome is the Dark Hunter series... I highly recommend both :)

message 158: by Jacqui (new) - rated it 3 stars

Jacqui I find these far superior to most recent vampire novels, they have their own mythology which is refreshing and the brother's relationships are humorous and very entertaining. All in all, great paranormal romance novels with a good dash of suspense or horror.

 * Kazzy * -aka Stryker- I agree with you all, BDB is amazing and I'm always shocked when I hear of people who have not read it, you don't know what you are missing! Autumn I love Rhage too, but you gotta love 'Z' and 'V' too.

Aestas Im with you on Dark Hunter series, that was just as awesome. I particularly loved Acheron's story, made me laugh and cry all the way through, a real roller coaster ride!

message 160: by Cindy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cindy Looking forward to Lover Reborn on March 27th! :D

Jessica Whose book is that Cindy? I haven't followed anything on it.

Rjsmommy That's the next installment of Black Dagger Brothers...it's Tohr's story...many of us have been waiting for Tohr to get his second chance at happiness.

message 163: by Cindy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cindy Tohr should now stand for Tohrment. That was a shocking ending to the story...both wife and baby! I would have gone bonkers too. Hope he gets a HEA! Maybe Wellsie will be reincarnated like John.

Rjsmommy JR Ward has stated in interviews that she wouldn't reincarnate Wellsie. She used the reasoning that Wellsie would never leave her unborn child alone in the Void. So it will be someone else. Most people are betting on one of the Chosen or No One (Xhex's Mom) who already has a history with Tohr

message 165: by Dhfan4life (last edited Oct 18, 2011 08:10PM) (new) - rated it 2 stars

Dhfan4life Ya know there is a certain irony to that. Wellsie won't leave her baby behind. But Ward pairs Tohr up with someone that did. I'll add the circumstances were different for both women and children. But still when I had time to think about it more. That is sort of what it comes down to.

message 166: by Cindy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cindy I just hope who ever he wins as his, is worthy of his gentle nature. Of course he has changed because of the loss. Maybe he'll become a berserker with a need for a gentle soul to calm him. A gentle soul who needs him to stand up for her. I just want him to have some one who loves him MORE than Wellsie. Who knows...maybe an Angel waits for him.(¯`O´¯)

Rjsmommy Never thought of it that way DH...that would certainly be ironic. While I like the pat connection I sort of want someone not so damaged for him.

HI Jen,
I have read the Sookie novels and Twilight... I have also read the Black Dagger Brotherhood series...it is a very good series and containes adult content. I enjoyed reading it so much I read the Falled Angel series that J R Ward writes. Another series you may also enjoy is the Argeneau family it is by arthur Lynsay Sands they are good reads also.. Hope this helps! Linda

Dhfan4life Rjsmommy wrote: "Never thought of it that way DH...that would certainly be ironic. While I like the pat connection I sort of want someone not so damaged for him."

Not only less damaged. But I personally feel No'One chose the cop out route. Even though I may get her view and that of her family. And why she did what she did. But I still can't help comparing her to Bella's mom. I mean chosen or not. That woman went through so much hell in her life. But she never once thought of ending her life and not having either of her children. And she was equal parts of the Glymera and one of the Scribe's sacred chosen.

April Mellinger Hi Jen, I see that you've gotten a lot of feedback on BDB. I have enjoyed them and each book has gotten better and better.

You can see my reviews of them at www.avarileyromance.wordpress.com if you'd like to see what I think of each one I've read so far.

Paris (kerbytejas) yes - but i would read the books in order so you have a better understanding of what is going on

message 175: by Ellen (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ellen This was the book that drew me into JR Ward's fabulous world.

message 176: by Kayla (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kayla I love twilight and true blood. I also love these books i haven't read but the first two in the series but it is such a different romance than twilight and true blood and to be honest i think its better. I prefer Ward's romances then the other two but there's no way you couldn't love these too.

message 179: by Renee (new) - rated it 4 stars

Renee Trull reading Lover Unbound... the Prologue has already got me captivated!!

Aestas Book Blog I don't know how I'm going to make it through Tohr's book. We'd better have a support group thread going when it comes out. My heart seizes up just thinking about it !

Christine Hi, Have not read the SS books and only watched the Twilight movies. But the BDB is and excellent series. Many fans love it and there are haters but it is rather a very sexy and addictive series to get in to. She did have a couple of Missteps for me (Lover Revenged and Lover Mine but with Lover Unleashed she got right back in to it. The other complaint by many is the amount of time the Lessers (the bad guys) receive in her books but in the last books they are not there and you kind of miss them. Start the series from Jump with Dark Lover and I think you will love it. Another series is the Lara Adrian vampire series and of course Kresley Cole. All very good and Cole and Ward are keepers.

Renee Trull so, just finished Lover Unbound...It made me laugh, it made my heart ache, and it made me want to chuck the book across the room and leave it there! Can I like and hate a book all at the same time? So totally not happy with the way some things turned out. Also though, really happy about how other things turned out. Jane's situation...really?!?!! UGH!! Curse you Ms. Ward! Ok, now I need to get the next book. I love Zsadist's story the best still. Love those BDB males :)

Rjsmommy Renee wrote: "so, just finished Lover Unbound...It made me laugh, it made my heart ache, and it made me want to chuck the book across the room and leave it there! Can I like and hate a book all at the same time?..."

I totally agree with you. I love V and even though he gets ripped off in the end with his "virtual" shellan I was still happy that he's seems content with it. Of course, this situation gets re-visited in Payne's book and more is revealed. I was routing for V & Butch but that didn't happen. V is just such a complicated character...I love him!

Christine I have gotten used to Jane as Ghost. I think because Ward does not do the Casper thing with her and who knows maybe the SV will figure out a way to re-embody her. Wackier things have happen (ie the O's digit in Butch's gut, Rhage's beast, Wrath getting his sight back for a moment so he could see Beth)... Here's to hoping.

Dhfan4life All I can say is that V's parentage put him on a different plane than the other brothers. So I think his shellan had to be different like him. And he had to have more powers than just being clairvoyant. Not to mention but the book is titled Lover Unbound. Which to me I took that meant that his lover was unbound by traditional convictions and even flesh like the others.

This is the best series I have ever read, I loved all the books, still need to read the last one.

Rjsmommy Well, I always thought that Lover Unbound had many meanings such as the play on words with V's S/M relationships, his feelings about his parentage being let loose, that he was let loose from his Primale duties to find love; and that he was finally able to let his feelings of love loose...he states that he never felt or acknowledged these feelings before. I can agree that with his abilities it might be hard to be in a relationship with a "normal" woman but it was working before JAne's "death". Like mentioned before...I'm happy that he found his shellan...but I'm still mad that he couldn't have that perfect HEA...he certainly deserves ir.

message 188: by Dhfan4life (last edited Jan 11, 2012 10:59PM) (new) - rated it 2 stars

Dhfan4life I agree, I took Lover Unbound in those ways too. Just that I think what Ward was going for given that he was the son of the one that created the vamp race in their world. She wanted to show he had more of a special edge than just the visions too. And given his life, the perfect HEA would have seemed a bit forced. I think even he wouldn't have trusted it. And we have seen how Wrath treated Marissa and in a way their situation was highly ideal in their world. But he kept rejecting her. So to some extent I think it was a good thing that Jane wasn't like that for V. Cause although the perks of being a live would have been great. I still think V needed a bit of a different ending to all the toss and turns of his life. One that he could literally have a hand in so to speak.

message 189: by Terri (new) - rated it 4 stars

Terri I have read the entire series to date and look forward to each new book. This series is very different from Twilight. It took me a while to get past the names of the brothers in the book but now I am a total fan of the series. Hope you enjoy them.

Shay I have to say, if yall didnt read Ward's Fallen Angels series yet, please do. It is a little slower but it is worth it. The last book of each series go hand in hand. Re read Payne's book and pay attention to the humans. Then read Envy. Trust me on this.

message 191: by Vaughn (new) - rated it 5 stars

Vaughn I've read Twilight and all the the Brotherhood. YES YES YES. Read it! In order! Then go on the Karen Marie Moning's Fae series, also in order. Hope this helps.

Santana I have read all of JR Ward's BDB series. I love them!! and I can't wait for the new one.

Should be coming out March??

message 194: by Pamela (new) - rated it 5 stars

Pamela Y. I can absolutely recommend this book and the entire series. They are the reason I read paranormal romance novels.

Savannah BDB is what little boy vampires hope to one day grow up and become. The books and ruff, dirty, and violent the further you get into the series the more you come to love the leather wearing, gangster blasting, hot lover boys. Phury was very hard for me to get threw but than the author made it up to me with John Matthew. I enjoy the series.

message 196: by Bea (new) - rated it 5 stars

Bea This is the best romance series period. I consider J.R. Ward a brilliant author no matter genre you compare her.

Rosemarie This is my first paranormal book. It got my interest from the start. I have read the first 3 books, I seem to just sail right along through them. I have also been doing google searches to see imagined pics of them. Lots of fun!
