hermionegrangerlifegoals | 14 comments I have an edition of the book (sweetbitter) with the same isbn as the hardcover book listed on GR, but the page numbers are different than my book. I have a version of the hardcover thats 352 pgs, but the one already listed is 368 pgs. I tried adding another edition, but it said because my addition had the same isbn as an existing edition of this book, it won't add it. Please help?

Different question:
Also, I have added different editions to other books in the past (usually the Advanced reader's editions of the books), and those additions were successfully added as editions of the same book already listed on GR. However, now the page where you add the information for a new edition says 'new book' and when I added another edition of a book recently, the website made it a separate book instead of just another edition and I don't want to add a new edition as a separate book. Has the page always said that and would the new edition be counted as a separate book by the same author? How would I get around this? Is this a new update or is the website glitching?

Scott | 9005 comments Is there any content after page 352 on your edition?

If you are adding a new edition of a book, you should use "add a new edition" from the existing book page. That way it will be linked with the other editions.

hey Scott, so the only information after page 352 is a blank page and then two pages of acknowledgements and one page for the author's note. So at the very most, the book could be considered to have 556 pages - which also does not exist for this book's editions.

I have only had the glitch of adding a whole new book instead of a new edition happen to me once. I have not tried again after that. In hindsight, I realize that the editions page is slightly different than adding a new book page.
Like every time, I went into the page of the book -> add a new edition -> filled out the info -> but it added it as a new book.
Every other time, the new edition was added like I had intended.

Perhaps it has been fixed now and won't happen again.

Thank you for your help!

Adding editions through "Add a New Edition" should already combine the new edition with the others"

Yeah I guess this book has 356 pages. But the edition on GR with 356 pgs is a paperback and I have a hardcover.
As for the new edition, I'm thinking it was a one time glitch and won't happen again.

Scott | 9005 comments Ok, I changed the hardcover to 356 pages. Sometimes GR imports early data that is a little off.

Cool, thank you!
