Salman Masaud | 5 comments A boy searches for his parents. In the beginning of the book, his mother dies and he has no clue of his father. His uncle is then his guardian. He and his friend find a box in the cellar/attic and he finds his own death certificate. A little into the middle of the book, his father starts calling him. He goes to meet his father but then runs away for a reason (i cannot remember it). In the ending, he finds his real family and he is surprised to know that he has a twin brother. That is all I know about the book. I would really appreciate the help.

HeavyReader | 450 comments You may want to add some of the plot details to the title of this thread. Not everyone reads every thread, so you want some details in the title in hopes of catching the eye of someone who knows this book.

Good Luck!

How many years ago did you read this?
Time period/location story takes place?
Tone: funny, mysterious, etc?
Anything about the cover?

Who Is Eddie Leonard? could be your book, I guess. I don't remember many details of it, though.

Salman Masaud | 5 comments It takes place in the US, dont know the location. I read it around 4 yrs ago. It was a kind of mysterious book.
PS: There was a sentence in the book something like
The day my baby Peter died.

HeavyReader | 450 comments Yes, it can take some time. I've had some threads up for a couple of years, hoping to get an answer. It's customary to bump a thread every month or so, to get them back to the top of the list in hopes that someone new will see them and be able to help.

That reminds me, i have a couple of threads to bump.

Was looking through the 'readers also enjoyed...' books and saw one with this plot line the other day. Really wishing I had ff set to save history for a period of time right now...

did it look like a older book? Because the one I saw was probably published in the 90s and was aimed at younger teens (and the kids in it were younger teens as well).

I *think* the cover had a room with boxes and possibly a boy on it.

Kelsey This sounds EXACTLY like the Face on the Milk Carton by Caroline B. Cooney....

only hitch is that it is about a teenage girl who was abducted as a toddler (3 years old). She finds out in high school by rummaging through her parents things, then she finds the original dress she was abducted in, in a box in the attic of her 'parents' house. The dress matches the one a missing child is wearing in a picture on a milk carton. She eventually finds her real family and does have a twin sibling.

Hopefully this is it!

The Face on the Milk Carton by Caroline B. Cooney for Kelsey's suggestion.

Kelly Kelsey, Janie does not have a twin. She does, however, have siblings who are twins (which is where you may have gotten that idea).
